Easter's on It's Way - Friday Sketchers #147
I so look forward to Fridays, not only because it is the end of the work week, but I love the sketches from the Friday Sketchers team. I find I use them over and over again. So here is my take on this weeks challenge:
Now ladies, I decided to try something new which I can not take credit for. I decided to incorporate the idea of creating a clay figure to match my card for family and friends. I got this idea from the very talented Gloria Dawson who inspired me the second I saw her GORGEOUS creations. Her work can be found here
Now after you see her work, remember, she's a pro at this and this is on of my firsts attempt so of course I see tons of flaws in the picture, so just give me about a hundred years and I'll catch up.
This is my second fimo creation, which is a little better than my first, My first was done for a DT challenge and will be posted in a few weeks

Copic Creations-Sparkle-A Simple Thank You-
I am snowed in!!!! This is a picture from my terrace.. as you can see the beach is covered in snow..The red flag is up meaning no swimming...hum wonder why... a car is stuck on the street below which is a major street that runs is in front of my apartment building and is blocking even the snow plow from getting down to clear the roads. The poor person who's car you only see the roof of will not get his car out till spring. Many cars are up on the median because as "city foke" we know how those snow plows can dig you in even more. The maintenance men haven't even begun to plow the parking lots, and since my car is on the other side of the building I have no idea of how badly it is snowed in. We have so much snow that I don't think I'll be able to dig out for days.
The A train which is an elevated train at this section of Queens (and my transporation into Manhattan), has been stuck on the tracks since 1AM this morning which is not good (third rail all covered up) and yes there are people on it. They are stuck 3 stops from my house. I feel for those people and others that are stuck someplace other than the warmth of there cozy abodes...I hope the tracks are cleared up by tomorrow though since I am Broadway bound to see Wintuck at Madison Square Garden...
So what's a girl to do, but cyber shop and play, and not in the snow...lol.... feels good to be creative again. I made this for my son's girlfriends family to say thank you for the beautiful fruit basket that was presented to me on Christmas day. It is so beautiful, that I don't want to open in up...
This fits the Copic Creation challenge which is sparkle, the paper is sparkly which I'm not quite sure if it shows, and I added Stickles to the flowers and bird.
Stamp: Penny Black-Message from above, Senitment: Printworks
Paper: SU Chocolate chip, DCWV At Home
Extras: Nestibilities, Sizzix Swirl, Flower Punch, MS Branch Punch, Pearls, Stickles, brads

Sketch Saturday & Penny Black
I haven't been able to make cards lately, but knew I had to crank out a few Christmas cards especially with it right around the corner. I've only done about 5 this year. I followed this wonderful sketch over at Sketch Saturday, and used this adorable Penny Black stamp for their challenge which was to use Ivy or Holly so of course these adorable mice fit right in. So here is my take on both challenges.
As always thanks for looking

Happy Belated Birthday-Magnolia Stamp Lover Challenge
I know I haven't posted in awhile, still working on my "project". But had to take a welcoming brake to make two cards for work. The first is for the Postman who delivers to our school. When he saw a card that I made, he asked me to make a card for his Aunt who's birthday was last month. Hard to believe that the Postman is sending a belated birthday card..lol He asked that I use anything educational related. So I thought this adorable Magnolia was just the right one. It was also my first attempt at darker skin tones. Thanks to Suzanne Deans tutorial I was able to accomplish this. Anyway, I just used this image for the calendar so it was still out. So, can you guess what month they were for? 9 months down and 3 to go which technically is only 36 left.. Hopefully I will be done by next week. At least that's my goal.
This is for the Magnolia Stamp Lovers Challenge Punch it Up!!since I used my Nellie Snellin Flower Punch for the flowers, SU Corner Punch & the SU tag punch for the sentiment

Paper: Homeroom from TPC Studio, Night of Navy, Close to Coco
Extras: Flower Punch, Blue Pearls, SU Corner Punch, Sizzix Swirl Die, Buttons, SU Tag punch

This is for a co-worker who will celebrate her 60th Birthday tomorrow. I thought this Penny Black image was perfect. It's called Best of Luck.

Saturday Sketch & Penny Black
I did this for the Sketch Saturday & Penny Black Challenge Blogs. I followed the sketch over at Sketch Saturday and used the colors Purple, Cream & Brown for the Penny Black challenge. I've had this paper for ages and glad that I was finally able to use it. Years ago, I belonged to a Scrapbook Club, this paper was from one of their monthly kits, I thought the papers were perfect for the Penny Black color theme since it has creams and purples in it. I even shocked myself that I remembered I had them...lol
So here goes:
Image: Penny Black: Let's Celebrate
Paper: so old I am clueless to who made them, but it was double sided so the lighter purple was used for the strip accross the middle and for the flowers
Extras: Sizzix Flourish Swirl, Rhinestones, MS border Punch, Self Adhesive Rhinestones. MS Branch Punch, Nellie Snellin Flower Punch.
Copics: E000,E00,R20,E31,E33,E35,V12,V15,V17,Y21,Y17,

Floating Dreams
I went to Michaels and found this 12x12 Paper Pack from DCWV. Well, I couldn't put this down because the papers are so beautiful and it is a pack of my favorite colors, Blues & Browns, love that combo. So I hope you gals don't get tired of me using this cause something tells me I'll be using it for weeks to come. And what's even better, when I got up to the counter, it must have been on clearance because it was only $7.99!!! Unfortunately, the picture does not do the papers any justice because many of them have a sparkle to them but the camera does not show it well.
I also decided to dust off these adorable Mice from Penny Black. For the main image I used Floating Dreams then for the image on the bottom I decided to use one of the smaller images from the Critter Party Pack. They are great for accent images.
Here is a close up of the smaller image I used on the bottom.

Just Magnolia, Penny Black & Sketch Saturday
I followed the sketch at Just Magnolia just tweaking it a little by placing the heart in the background so I hope it still counts since I followed the sketch. Anyway, I made this for my Hubby who is in a Sub-Acute Rehab center. I hope it cheers him up and brightens up his drab room. I miss him terribly, on Monday it will be two weeks that he has not been home, the first week was in the hospital and now he is at the re-hab center. He receives about 3 hours of both occupational & physical therapy 6 out of 7 days a week and will probably be there 2-3 more weeks. He is exhausted after each session to say the least. I can not visit him as often as I did when he was in the hospital because it is so far away and with work and the boys it makes it kind of hard and also takes it's toll on me. He was so cute when he commented that it was like we were dating again since we were on the phone so much.

THis is another one I will give to him tomorrow and for this one, I followed the sketch over at Sketch Saturday and by using a Penny Black Stamp and a punch it also allows me to enter this in the Penny Black challenge.

A Special Thank You
I made this card about 2 weeks ago, but never uploaded it because I did not want the person who it was intended for to see it before she got it. I've also been so busy not with work this time, but running back and forth to the hospital. My husband who has MS, was in the hospital for 8 days since he was unable to walk He was in so much pain poor guy. At first we thought it was his MS, but the MRI showed that it was not another MS exhasberation(which is a good thing), but unfortunatley on top of the MS he was also diagnosed with Spinal Stenosis which is what caused the pain. He was moved to a re-hab center on Tuesday and is now under going intense physical & occupational thearpy.
So anyway here is the card I made as a special Thank you..

Penny Black #95-Checks
This weeks challenge over at the Penny Black Blog is to use Checks, whether it's checkered paper, flowers, ribbon, it doesn't matter as long as you use checks and of course a Penny Black image on your card. I choose this checkered paper from Stampin Up along with all the coordinating papers.
I used the dirty rag technique to achieve the tiny spots on the frogs belly & on the flower..

Paper: Stampin Up 6x6 Paper Pack, the paper with the holes is from K&Company
Extras: Pearl Spray, Prisma Flowers, SU-Ticket Corner Punch,MS Branch Punch Dimentionals, Self Adhesive Pearls
Image colored with copics: YG21, YG91, YG93, YG95, RV11, RV34

Copic Creations Challenge #22-Coloring Embellishments
This was done for the Copic Creation Challenge. This weeks challenge is to color your embellishmentand and make an Easter Card so I colored in the pearls on the front of the card using RV11 so that it would match the pinks perfectly
I found this multi fold card over at the House Mouse challenge which is to make a multi fold card. So I gave it a go. At first I was going to use a House Mouse stamp for this card, but decided this Penny Black was the perfect size for this particular card. So off I go to make a different multi fold card for that challenge. The directions for this card can be found here I used a 12 x 12 piece of cardstock using measurements for a 5 1/2 card for the 2 folds at the bottom, I cut those at 2 3/4 you will understand when you see the template, but the template is in CM's..
And as you all know, I am bow challenged.... I will cut the tails of the bow after I write my personal sentiment in it. This is the view of the card completly colosed

Penny Black #87 - Pins & Pearls
I was asked to make 3 bridal shower cards and this is the 2nd one that I did, I used my Sentimentals Cricut Cartridge to cut the frame at 5 1/4". I cut the frame 2x and then popped it up on dimentionals to give it some depth. I then used the shadow feature of the frame for the background of the frame (next time I know to use the blackout feature, hey you live and you learn).. The image is All White from Penny black one of my favorite images, and so easy to color... The card is a pre-embossed card from DCWV.

PennyBlack # 73 White on White
This was done for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge. This weeks challange is White on White. Not as bad as it sounds since the card and all embellishments are in white, the only color is on your image. I used my trusty DCWV pre-embossed card and my Pendant nesties and lots of dimentionals. To finish the card off, I wanted to place a white ribbon with a huge bow accross the center, but alas, I don't have any white ribbon, so maybe next time I hit Michaels I'll pick some up and finish it off, but for now, here's my take on the challenge.

Paper: Paper Trey WHite, Pre-embossed card from DCWV

THanks for looking.

Penny Black Sketch - Buttons & Bows #70
This was done for the Penny Black Challenge. This week we were to use buttons and bows, I choose just to use buttons, I have tons and tons of them, and sad to say, I couldn't tie a bow no matter how hard I tried, I'd still be working on the bow. But maybe, the bow on the candy cane counts... It's a stretch, but it might just be enough. Anyway, this is an older image from Penny Black. An oldie but a goodie

House Mouse Challenge 47-White on White
This was done for the House Mouse Challege which was to make a card using white on white. We were only allowed to color our image, everything else had to be white. It was opposite of last weeks challenge which I struggled with. Well, since Carolyn said it was easy, I gave it a try, and it was. I love this stamp, I have used it so many times for so many different occassions, only changing the wording. I also used pre-embossed cards from DCWV which is another one of my favorites for a quick and easy card base.
Stamp: Stampabilities: Amanda Writes, Sentiment from Penny Black
Extras: Nesties, White flowers, MS Branch Punch, Sizzix Die Swirls, Self Adhesive Pearls,
Paper: Paper Trey White
Image Colored with Copics: G20-Wax White, G24-Willow, E33-Sand, YR000-Silk, R000Cherry White, R39-Garnet,B60-Pale Blue Grey
