Creative Inspirations - DT Post

Hi guys, it's my turn to host at Creative Inspirations and I chose Summer Time. And what better thing to do in the summer than spend it at the beach. This little cutie was the perfect choice. His name is Nesto and you can find this adorable image at Mo's Digital Pencil HERE

Nothing special on this card today after all it is for a little boy so no frills so it's kind of plain. I used my Cricut Expression to cut out the little umbrella and pail silouette using A Child's Year cartridge. I cut it 3 times and used dimentionals.

The inside of the card, and you can also see the dimention of the umbrealla:

My First Shaker Card...

I've had this cutie for some time now, but just never inked him up until now. What was I waiting for.. beats me.. but I do have a few of those that I must have and then they don't see ink for awhile. I am entering this into the Lili of the Valley Challenge this week since the theme is Fun and Games. And yes, he's on his way to the lake to play with him boat. I also decided to play along on the Crazy 4 Challenges after I saw all these shaker cards, first on LOTV, and then on Cindy Haffner's blog so thanks for the inspiration guys. What fun this was to make, and it was so easy, I know I'll be making a few more. So with all that said and done here is my take on the shaker card.

A close up of the shaker.. Ok I kind of went overboad with the sparkle. Will put a little less in my next one...

Once again I made a box to go along with it. Since the paper was already embossed with the sail boat. I decided to leave it and not add any embellishments to the box. I didn't want to hide the beautiful boat. So here is a picture of the box

The box and the card:

The card in the box:

Hope you like it.. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts which you can find HERE and the twine and the charm are from The Ribbon Girl which you can find HERE

I am entering this into the following challenge:
Crazy 4 Challenges Shaker Card
Lili of the Valley Fun and Games
Crafty Sprouts Shaker Card

Image: LOTV - Sentiment also LOTV & Printworks
Paper: DCWV: Nantucket
Extras: Charm, Twine, Nesties, Sparkles, Dimentional tape, Pearls, Wild Orchid Craft Flowers

Summer Vacation #92 - Road Trip

When I was a little girl we went on many road trips, and when my boys were little, they knew it was going to be special day when they heard the term "Road Trip". You see, I would never want to disappoint my kids since they always seemed to have a knack for getting sick right before an event. It also avoided their nagging waiting for the event to arrive. So my husband and I would just get them dressed and stick them in the car and say "Road Trip". We've gone to such places as Radio City Music Hall, The Renaisance Fair in upstate NY, Disney World (but that was a "Plane Trip") and to such normal things as going to The Zoo, The Aquarium or even the movies. I have told this story to some of the teachers at my school, and now they do the same with their kids. It becomes an adventure that way, and they know something special is in the works when they get in the car and we announce "Road Trip".

So for our theme this week which is Summer Vacation I decided to use this image from Mo's called Eli which you can find HERE
since many of us go on "Road Trips' for our summer vacation this was just perfect and brought back many memories. So thank's Elaine for another fantastic theme and for helping me remember the many trips and adventures we had when my kids were young.

Creative Inspiration #64 Christmas in July

This week it's Lanny's turn to pick our challenge and she decided that the challenge for this fortnight would be "Christmas in July". Well I must admit, it is sooooo hot here in NYC that I would enjoy just a little snow at the moment.

I used this adorable image from Whipper Snapper called Ike and Mike. The pin, charm and lace are from The Ribbon Girl which you can find HERE and the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts which you can find HERE. I then made this adorable fimo to match it. Now I must admit, it it weren't for you-tube videos and the books that I've recently purchased that show how to mold the different shapes for heads, bodies, hands, etc.. I probably would still be making a mess with the fimo. This polar bear is the result of me following one of the step by step tutorials in one of the books by Stacey Morgan. I can now say, I think I have the hang of it... So after all that is said and done, here is my take on this weeks challenge Christmas in July.

Another Angle:

I would also like to enter this into the following Challenges:
Simon Says Anything oes
Paper Pretties Animals
Reasonable Ribbon Cool it
Paper Sundaes Christams in July
Winter Wonderland Embossing Wet or Dry
