Christmas 2013

Merry Christmas!

Our little family celebrated our first Christmas away from either of our families this year. We were sad but we also enjoyed our morning alone and evening with friends, who have become our "family". It was a magical Christmas with beautiful big snowflakes falling on Christmas Eve. We kept up the Hunt family tradition of having Pizza Hut for dinner on Christmas Eve. We woke up around 8:30 on Christmas morning to a very Princess themed Christmas. Natalya must have been a good girl because Santa spoiled her rotten. 

A large group of us women from church got together and made this adorable felt Christmas trees. Each person made a couple ornaments and then when we got together we exchanged them. 

We made gingerbread houses one night as a family. Talya mostly enjoyed eating the candy, but she did manage getting a few on her house.

Seriously a beautiful Christmas Eve... Lots of Snow!

It was fun having our new friend, Albert, live with us during the month of December. Talya was super sad that Albert had to return to the North Pole on Christmas Eve. 

Christmas Morning... All Talya wanted for Christmas was a Cinderella dress. As she walked into the front room, there hanging up was a Snow White dress and a Rapunzel dress. She was SO excited and then a few minutes later she looks at both Colten and I and said, "But I didn't get a Cinderella dress." We told her that she still had lots more presents to open. So the next present from Santa that she opened was a beautiful Cinderella dress. 

Little Ty guys pile, its actually just two presents and the rest is Natalya's. He will never know, other than reading this, that he only got a couple gifts on his first Christmas.

Santa brought Ty a camo hat. Its a little big right now. :)

Christmas Day... Colten and Talya went outside and shoveled the drive way then played in the snow for a little. Later that day we went over to the Nikolaus' home for Christmas dinner. 

A Little Visit With The Big Guy

Natalya was SO excited to see Santa Claus this year. She just couldn't wait to tell him that she wanted a Cinderella dress. I was a little shocked that she wasn't afraid one little bit. We got to see two different Santa's this year. The first one at the Mayo sponsored Winter Carnival and the second one at the Rochester Mall. 

Iowa Wrestling

Since moving to the Midwest, and being only a few hours from the University of Iowa, it has been a dream of Colten's to attend one of their wrestling duels. It just so happened that the best weekend for us to make the short trip was when they were dueling the #1 ranked Penn State (with Mormon head coach Cael Sanderson).  With Iowa being ranked #3 we were excited about the great match up. Penn State ended up winning but we had a great weekend together as a family. We stayed over Saturday night and planned to attend church at 9 am the following morning. We woke up to 7 inches of new snow and actually made it to the church building on time only to find just a few cars in the parking lot. A couple people were outside shoveling the walks and told us that church had been canceled. Ha! So we just drove home and made it back sooner than we planned.

Two months already! Ty had to get his shots today so he is one said little boy. Mom is sad too. At 2 months Ty is smiling lots and holding is head up better. He is also starting to grow some dark hair on top of his head.
