YW Birthday Gifts

I am in the Young Women Presidency and I decided to volunteer to take care of the birthday gifts for our YW in the ward this year. I thought and thought of a bunch of cute ideas but with a limited budget ($0) I finally chose to make these cute signs that the girls can hang in their room that has our Mutual Theme for the Year. I think they actually turned out really cute for the grand total of about $13 for 24 of them.

I bought 12x12 scrapbook paper and printed off 4 sayings for each sheet.

Then I ripped the edges and Mod Podged them to a black spray painted thin board. (Shop teacher at the Middle School donated the board, cut them out and also drilled the holes for me. Thanks Mr. E!)

Then I let them dry good.


Then I tied black ribbon to them.

and Whala!!!

Wrap it up and top it off with a Fruit by the Foot and say, "Remember to 'Be Strong and of a Good Courage' and always walk in the 'FOOT'steps of Christ." :)

Some people hate it...

because it is depressing and unrealistic, but I LOVE IT.

Even though we know we'll never have something remarkably close to some of these homes, I still find it fascinating and lots of fun to go look at. I don't know why anyone would not enjoy this. It's like saying you don't want to go on a dream vacation. It's still fun to go and see! Right?

I was quite surprised this year with the houses. As always, there were a few ridiculously crazy homes but there were also a lot of smaller "livable" ones. Here are a ton of random pictures that I took. Enjoy if you missed out!
