Colten and I have been married for two wonderful years! I seems just like yesterday when he asked me to the Homecoming Dance. Thanks Colt for being so awesome. I love you! :)
This has been the ideal "cheesy" post, I know. Everyone has done it. haha

The Best Two Years...
...have been the last two years that I have been married to my high school sweetheart! Colten and I have not only survived, but loved our first two years of marriage. It can only get better from here! We celebrated our anniversary this year (because we didn't do anything special last year) by taking a little vacation on a cruise to the Bahamas. We arrived a couple of days early and rented a car to tour around the Fort Lauderdale/Miami area.
We did the Hollywood Broadwalk...
This is us with the skyline of Miami in the background.
Sailing away with Miami in the distance again.
This is me and Colt in our room on the cruise.
We went to dinner at nicer resturant on the ship and Colten insisted that he go ask the hostess something, I can't even remember what it is he said, but he came back with a rose for me:) How sweet...
We had a couple of games of Shuffle Board. (I guess that's what it is called. I had never played before.) I won at this. Colten beat me at Ping Pong though.
Welcome to the BAHAMAS!
A beautiful resort we toured.
On the beach of a private resort. We listened to a spill on buying a Time Share at this place...
...and by doing so, we got a free ride on a wave runner! It was a lot of fun. Colten had a blast driving while I was a wreck thinking we were going to crash and then drowned. We obviously made it safely back to shore.
Colten got a Bahama Mama (without Rum so he says... :) in a coconut.
The maids would make our towels into cute little animals. This one is an elephant and the next day we had a dog.

We drove to a place in the Everglades called, Shark Valley.
We saw LOTS of alligators.
We went on a 15 mile bike ride.
We boarded the cruise on Monday (our actual anniversary). We sailed on Norwegian Sky and enjoyed a beautiful ship with yummy food and great entertainment such as: a comedian, battle of the sexes, a concert, and the newly wed game. I loved being able to spend every minute with my handsome hubby. Our cruise was 4 nights and we stopped at 3 islands in the Bahamas: Grand Bahama Island, Nassau, and Great Stirrup Cay.

We had the opportunity to do lots of snorkeling. Colten got a great sunburn from spending most of the day in this position.
Our Ship!
It was a great vacation to start off our summer of not being able to see each other very often. Colten got accepted to a Research Program through the American Heart Association at the University of Utah. This means that Colten will be in SLC all summer and I will be home involved in summer camps and catching up on projects that I have started.
I sure will miss him but I know this is a great opportunity for him to learn and experience before he applies to medical school next year.Sunday, May 17, 2009
Our Hike
For the past month we have been planning to hike Whipple Valley Trail on Pine Valley Mountain. We invited a bunch of friends to go and we went yesterday morning. It was a little chilly first thing, but quickly warmed up as we got going. We hiked for nearly 3 hours before we couldn't safely go anymore because of the snow drifts. We ate our lunch we packed up and then headed back home. Overall, we had a lot of fun but we were a little disappointed we didn't make it all the way to our destination. The only bad thing about that is that Colten is going to want me to go with him again when we CAN get all the way there. Oh Boy!!
This is where we made it to on the hike before we had to stop.

When in need of a massage...
...get your 20 month old nephew to give you one. Today we went for a long hike up Pine Valley Mountain (I'll post about this later). Colten and I are really tired and sore so we got out his moms electric massager and was using it to give each other a massage and Colt's nephew decided it looked like fun and wanted one too! Then he decided that he wanted to hold it and do the work. :) He actually did a pretty good job too!

Happy Mother's Day
One thing that is nice about Colt and I both being from the same town is that on Holidays, like Mother's Day, we are able to spend time with both sides of the family.
I just wanted to tell our moms how much we love them and enjoy coming up to Etown to spend time with them. And to thank them for all they do for us. We really are blessed to have such great people in our lives who do so much for us. THANKS!!
