New Fun Things For Our House
Recently Colten and I have gotten a few new items for our house. Not all of it is brand new but it is new to us.
Last spring when we got our economic stimlus check, we decided to put that money toward a computer and desk, since all we had was a hand-me-down lap top. As soon as we got our check we then decided to move in with parents for the summer to save some money since we were going to move from Cedar to Hurricane so we didn't buy our computer. Finally, once we got moved in, in our house in La Verkin we decided we could get our computer. So this is a picture of our computer and computer desk. We both love it!
Then I have an aunt that just moved out of their home in Las Vegas to a cabin in Pine Valley and they were just going to store their entertainment center because they didn't have enough room. But then she offered it to us. It is very beautiful and we feel lucky to have gotten it from her. Thanks Aunt LuAnn!
And the last thing to add to our house are new bar stools. I found them at a garage sale and they are in great condition. I think I might redo the white and paint it black to match our kitchen appliances but I don't know yet.

Tagged!
I already did on of these a long time ago, but I have been tagged twice now to do this so here it is...
1. Where did you meet your husband? Preschool,... I think.
2. How long did you date before you got married? Oh boy... 3 and 1/2 years before the mission. I wrote faithfully every week for 2 years while he was on his mission. Then we got married 3 1/2 months later. So if all of that counts then... just shy of 6 years.
3. How long have you been married? 1 year and 5 months
4. What does he do that surprises you? Makes the bed every morning! :)
5. What is your favorite feature of his? His ruggedly handsome good looks and of course how smart he is. He is a TDH (tall, dark and handsome)!!
6. What is your favorite quality about him? Colten is very optimistic. He is always so positive about everything and very supportive of me.
7. Does he have a nick name for you? Babe or Meg
8. What is his favorite food? Steak or any kind of meat.
9. What is his favorite sport? Wrestling.
10. When and where did you first kiss? On October 6, 2001 after the Sadie Hawkins dance on the front porch of his house.
11. What is your favorite thing to do as a couple? Cuddle on the couch and watch a good movie. We also love to play games together.
12. Do you have children? Nope
13. Does he have any hidden talents? Yes, there are just too many to list.
14 How old is he? 23
15. Who said I love you first? That would be him but I really wanted to!!! We were in my parents driveway the night before I left to go to college.
16. What is his favorite music? Country, Rock, Punk or whatever good is playing on the radio.
17. What do you admire most about him? I admire his optimism and knowledge about lots of things especially the gospel.
18. What is favorite color? Red
19. Who eats more sweets? My immediate answer is Me!... but just the other day we had a whole bowl of chocolate candy bars and I admit that I had few but I came home from work and they were GONE!
20. Who is taller? Colten is. He is 6'1" now! On our first date to the homecoming dance I took my shoes off and told him to stand up REALLY tall so that I wouldn't be taller. That's a Pet Peeve of mine.
21. Who is the better singer? Definitely Colten.
22. Who is smarter? I will just have to admit it now, my husband is practically a Doctor or so he jokes about that! :) Colten is smarter.
23. Who does the laundry? I do.
24. Who pays the bills? I do.
25. Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Colten does and he always tries to fight me for my side of the bed.
26. Who mows the lawn? We don't have a lawn, just desert rocks and cactus stuff. But when we did, we tag teamed it. I would trim and he would mow or vice versa.
27. Who cooks dinner? Um... dinner? Is that something we are supposed to have?
28. Who drives? We both do.
29. Who's the first to admit they are wrong? Colten. I am too stubborn.
30. Will he read this? Yep

Beautiful Southern Utah
Colten and I had a free Saturday and we went for a little hike just 15 miles west of our house. It was a chilly day but we had a lot of fun and captured this awesome picture of the Red Rocks of Southern Utah and Pine Valley Mountain in the background.
Also, Today at church, Colten and I were both set apart for the callings we received a couple of weeks ago. I am the 2nd counselor in the Primary and Colten is the 1st counselor in the Elders Quorum. This will make us both a lot more busy.

What were we thinking?
So for a couple of weeks I had been contemplating cutting my hair. It was just so long and had been for a few years. I wanted a change but not too much of a change. And I absolutely love dark brown hair and mine was not blond but it wasn't dark beautiful brown either. So after I cut it I decided to color it.
It was a crazy weekend of chopping hair off. And my poor mom says she'll never color my hair again. It was completely my fault. I bought the color and just told her to put it on. I think she thinks it's her fault that I don't love my new hair style. We colored it on a Friday night, tried to fix it the next day, tried to fix it again the following Friday and then one more time the next Saturday and it still is gothic black (not the beautiful brown I was going for.) It was a mess.

My sister Randi also got brave and chopped her pony tail off too (well actually she let her husband chop her pony tail off) Then my mom fix the hair cut. I think we are both nuts.
As of right now I wish I would have left my hair alone and had my old hair back, but you've all heard the saying... "It's just hair. It will grown back!"
