YARN ALONG

Never doubt what one
prayer can do.

Since finishing my Silverleaf Shawl
I couldn't wait to cast on a new project
and this one had been waiting awhile,

I am using the grey yarn I dyed with
mint and Berroco Folio.

On my night stand is my reading for
book club, Praying for Strangers, a
book I am enjoying very much.

SILVER LEAF KNIT ALONG

In the rhythm of the
needles there is music
for the soul

The day the pattern for Silverleaf
was released I knew I wanted to
knit it. After browsing around on
Jimmy Beans Wool I decided to
order Cascade Venezia Sport in
White Heaven, and cast on as soon
as it arrived.

The pattern is easy to follow and
even the Leaf Lace Section is not
hard as long as you pay attention
to yarn overs [something I failed
to do and had to rip back].

This first shawl was never meant for
me, it is going to my Mike's Aunt, but
I loved knitting it so much I have
decided to knit it again and thought
you might like to join me in a little
kal.

The KAL will begin on September 1
and end whenever you are finished,
no pressure, no stress, just the joy
of knitting something pretty along
with others. Have a problem or a question
with the pattern? Just ask and we
can help because I have found knitters
to be the most wonderful of souls.

The pattern calls for  approximately
550 yards of sport weight yarn on
a size 6 needle, but you can easily
adjust the pattern to other weights
and yardages.

For the KAL I will be using
Wolle Rodel Baby Alpaka which is
a dk weight and as I only have 504
yards I will be adjusting the pattern
just a bit.

You can post here or on Instagram
 [TraceyClover] which is where I
can be found most days. Please
tag your post #silverleafkal so we
can all ooh and ahh over your
Silverleaf.

Much love,
Tracey

YARN ALONG

I believe in the ocean curing all bad moods.
I believe in the waves wiping away worries.
I believe in seashells bringing good luck.
I believe in toes in the sand grounding my soul.

~ happsters

Lots of sock knitting in my world
these days, some with chevron's
some with stripes, the perfect
summer knit, especially when
you're sitting on the beach wave
watching and soaking in a few
sun rays.

I down loaded The Border of Paradise
after seeing it on several blogs. It is
a story told from several character's
view all of which are haunting, dark,
and totally masterful!

YARN ALONG.

Each day I knit
and I breathe,
and I wrap it all
together into
this life.

For many years I wanted to
learn to knit
so I could knit socks
and seven  years ago
this month, with the
help of Youtube,
I taught myself
this amazing craft,
 and I've been knitting
every day since.
.I usually like
to have only
two wip's going
at once, but I seem
to have thrown that
rule out the window
and now...

have three pairs
of socks in progress.

 Using yarn imported
from Germany,
 soft and colorful
 yarn spun by
a dear friend,
 and self striping
 yarn mass produced
for a box company.,
 worked on
 Knitter's Pride
Karbonz dpn's,
 Brittany birch dpn's
and Hiya Hiya 9-in
circular needles
slowly I make socks.

I am thankful in more
ways than one for having
this fiber love in my life.
On my night stand is a beautifully
written book...

YARN ALONG AND SHOWER GIFTS

You are the finest,
loveliest,
tenderest, and most
beautiful people I
have ever known~
and even that is an
understatement!

Thank you so much for attending
the Baby Shower for Ginny last
week, it was a joy to have all
of you here.

I have a few gifts to distribute
and with the help of my husband
we randomly drew names....

1. Debrorah [A Delightful Glow]
a pattern of your choice from Ravelry
up to $12.00 donated by Karen.
Karen is Swanski on Ravelry so you
can send her a message.

2. Tania [ Hedgrerow Harvest] a pattern
of your choice from Ravelry up to $12.00.
I am 1tims on Ravelry so just let me know.

3. Donna [Knit1Spin2] I have a skein of
yarn for you if you wouldn't mind messaging
me your address.

My knitting this week is a sock. I am using
Opal yarn and am enjoying each new stripe
as it appears.

I have a basic vanilla sock pattern in my head
that I use and while I have always knit a slip
stitch rib heel this time I tried something
new, Eye of Partridge, which I think is quite
pretty.

On my Kindle is a book I highly recommend,
Secrets of a Charmed Life. The book reminds
me a lot of books written by Kate Morton, even
the setting and time frame [England during
WWII] are the same. This is my first time
reading anything by Susan Messiner, but it
won't be my last.
