Happy little hopper!

We had a great Easter! We started our celebration on Saturday by taking Savannah to the city sponsored egg hunt.
She was freezing her little tooshie because I neglected to grab a jacket to go over the sweater she was wearing. We thought about hitting two hunts but after she nearly froze to death we opted to just do the one.

They say that parents are not to help the children that are three and older so when they started the hunt Josh and I hung back. Savannah was feeling nervous and wouldn't do anything so I rushed on with her and helped. She did an excellent job gathering her share of eggs. This little hunt got her ready for "The Big Time" on Saturday.

At home, after nap time, I talked to her about Jesus and how he is the real reason we celebrate Easter. When I first told her Jesus died you should have seen her face. She was devastated and took in a breath of shock. She mellowed out when I told her is was resurrected and he is alive.

Before Josh left for Priesthood session of Conference I made pizza for dinner and we colored Easter eggs. I got this sparkle kit to color the eggs and lets just say there wasn't much sparkle and next year we will stick to standard kits.
Coloring eggs. I made her take off her shirt and a wrapped a towel around her pants. I knew if I didn't I would be angry at myself for some ruined clothes.
Punching the pizza dough mid egg coloring. We are great at multi-tasking and this is her favorite part of making dough. Well, maybe her favorite part aside from eating flour.
Josh had to take over while I rolled out the pizza and Savannah ate the sticky remnants of dough off her hands.
Done eating pizza and...
done coloring eggs. See, you can barely notice any sparkles. LAME!

Sunday she woke up and diligently got Josh and I out of bed before she saw what the bunny left her while she was sleeping. I missed the genuine shot of excitement and surprise and had to settle for this one...
After checking out her basket she noticed eggs the bunny left around the house and went on the hunt. Here she is with her spoils:

After nap we had our real egg hunt. We hid the eggs about 7 times before she was ready to move on to another activity. One of those time she sent Josh inside while she hid the eggs only to refuse Josh her basket and the opportunity to find them. She just couldn't pass up the thrill!

Stopping to blow a few bubbles before the next round.
Pretending to eat an egg. Gross! Those have been in the dirt.
Our next activity was for Savannah to de-shell her beautiful eggs.
She decided it was easier and more fun to just rip them in half and play with the yolk balls.

We went to Brian (Josh's cousin) and Kate's house for dinner and "The Big Time" egg hunt. Savannah did so well that her basket was overflowing and she resorted to putting eggs in our pockets.
Hope you all had a wonderful Easter!
