Driving Home for Christmas

Good morning to all my lovely friends and  followers today I'm sharing a card I made recently from a magazine freebie. I don't often buy magazines as I rarely use the free gifts and  sometimes I'm not always interested in the content. However this is the free gift this month from Simply Cards and  Papercraft  that I spotted in Tesco. My design is not all my own I was inspired by a similar design on U Tube using the free gifts . I do like the design and  its a perfect Christmas card for any Chris Rea fans out there.

 Card Recipe

6x6 blank card
Green and  red card card my box
White square embossed at the bottom half with the free embossing folder then I cut a circle in the centre with a Spellbinder circle die.
I them cut a larger circle from the free paper pack of the tree background and  fixed behind
I then cut the tree dies and arranged around the circle
I then cut the car die twice one green and  one red so when you open the car door you see green inside
I stamped the sentiment also from the free gift onto a piece of background paper backed with card.
I added three facet cut dark grey gemstones to the corner.
Everything I used is from the magazine freebie except the card, gemstones and  circle die

This was fun to make and  I think the set will get used I have already used the small trees again on another card I'made but not yet shared. The paper pack is also very good quality.

I hope you all have a great weekend I'm at the hairdressers later today and  tomorrow I'm going to the Create It craft show at Gateshead Stadium so will need to raid the piggy bank for that. If any of you are going please say hello . Love and  hugs Carole x

It's Christmas

Only Joking !! Good morning to all my friends and  followers. Today I'm sharing two cards I made at the craft group I go to a couple of weeks ago We like to try new things and that week our craft friend  Carol showed us how to make paper strip cards its a great way to use up your scrap paper especially if its expensive paper.

These are the two cards I made. I decided to do Christmas themes but these would look good in alternative papers for birthdays. They look difficult but are surprisingly easy to do once you get the hang of it.

Card Recipe

6x6 cards
Kraft card is Crafters Companion
Maroon card is Ross Papercraft
Papers are (top card) These are from a pack that came in a magazine given to me by a craft friend Pam.
Second card the papers are Kaisercraft its an old pad but I do like the colours
First sentiment came with the papers and  mounted onto a Spellbinder scalloped circle.
Second sentiment is Whimsy stamps Winter Letter Seals I bought these and  a couple of custom stamps years ago from Whimsy in America the postage was huge and  then customs charged as well so I treasure my very expensive stamps.

Twine is Brenda's Lace and  Ribbon Specials Facebook shop

These are completely different to my normal style but I enjoyed making them Its good to try different things.

White on White

Good morning to all my special friends and followers and  I hope everyone is keeping well there seems so many bugs about at present.
Its Thursday today and I go every Thursday morning to a craft group and we take turns to make a project for the others to make.  Its my turn today and  I've made a White on White birthday card. I got the idea to do a birthday card as they all liked the White on White Christmas card I made in December plus I do like doing White on White. I know a couple of people said on my last White on White post they never work for them. I think the secret is to use the same card for all the elements as there are so many shades of white in card and  paper.

Card Recipe

7x7 Blank card
Smooth white card Ross Papercraft
Corner rounder
Spellbinder Floral Oval and Oval die to cut out the centre
Summer Border and Chloe stem dies are Memory box
 Flowers are an eBay find
Sentiment with butterfly came free in a magazine ages ago

Finally I thought I'd finish with a couple of photos of Miles as I've not shared any for a while. The first one was taken in our garden at Christmas building his snowman with lots of help from Daddy and Granddad not sure who enjoyed it the most !!
The second photo was taken last Saturday when he went to see the trains at Manchester Piccadilly Station and then went back home on a train he had such fun.

Hugs for my Snowman December 2017

My first visit to a BIG Train Station

Have a great week everyone Love and  hugs Carole x

Art Deco Teepee Card

Happy Sunday everyone I hope you are all having a lovely weekend. The card I'm sharing today is another of the sample cards I've made for the ladies at the craft group I'm a member of to make last week. This one was a bit of a challenge for them getting the folding right and cutting the papers to cover the shape but we had a few laughs along the way which was nice. The ladies also had a laugh on me I quite often mention how much I dislike peel off's and this project has 10 peel off borders !! Crafting has to be fun. The design and shape are very different for me so I hope you like her ..

Side 1

Side 2 the fold side

Card Recipe
