Strong at Heart Duo

Hello and welcome back! I'm catching up so I've got two more cards for you today. Here's the first one:

This design was inspired by the sketch challenge at Paper Craft Crew.

And here's the second card:

This one was inspired by the sketch at Try Stampin on Tuesday.

For the get well card, I trimmed a panel of DSP diagonally to get the corners for the sketch, then decided to use the center piece for the anniversary card. With the addition of the washi tape, it looks pretty close to the TSOT sketch, although I did have to change it to landscape orientation.

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

You Are Amazing Together!

Hello and welcome back! Here's today's card:

This design was inspired by the color challenge at Cupcake Inspirations, the "anything goes" challenge at Retro Rubber, and the sketch challenge at Sunday Stamps.

I am in desperate need of anniversary cards - I have 14 this month and who knew August was so popular for weddings? - and don't have any large anniversary sentiments, but I was able to put this one together from a stamp set that came out in the Summer 2022 Sale-A-Bration catalog. It's got lots of pieces so that you can assemble sentiments for many different occasions. I also had some old Tranquil Tide cardstock and ribbon in my stash, along with the Fresh Florals DSP for some Lemon Lime Twist. I added a few Iridescent Pearls for a bit of bling and this card went together pretty quickly. I think fussy cutting "amazing" took longer than the rest of the assembly!

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

Celebrate with Flowers

Hello and welcome back! Here's today's card (or cards):

I used the sketch from the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge for these cards.

Both cards were created on a Basic Black card base with a layer of Misty Moonlight under the DSP. I used both sides of the DSP and switched the patterns on the second card. I'm not sure the die-cuts around the label really show up very well against either background, but it is what it is. I had originally planned just for the green and blue, but added the white to give a little more definition. A couple of the die cuts are flipped around so that they fit the sketch better. (They would typically be facing the opposite direction.)

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

Another Silver Anniversary!

Hello and welcome back! Here's today's card:

This card is for the challenges at Double Trouble (anything goes), Inkspirational (embossed background), and the Paper Players (sketch).

I've got more friends celebrating a 25th anniversary this year, so it was time to make another card! This one uses silver glimmer paper, silver foil paper, and mercury glass acetate. I also added some vellum sprigs and frosted white heart pearls.

This couple also just moved across the country to the Pacific Northwest, so my next post will be a "new home" card for them.

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

The Best is Yet to Come!

Hello and welcome back! Here's today's card:

This card is for the "Anything Goes" challenge at Cupcake Inspirations and the "flowers" challenge at SUO Challenges.

The inspiration for this design came from Call Me Crafty Al's May 2023 SheetLoad of Cards sketch. This is one of my go-to sites for ideas when I have a creativity block. Her videos and pdfs are super helpful! And since I used a SheetLoad of Cards sketch, I actually made the 12 cards in this month's handout.

Crafty Al's handout uses two different patterned papers, but since our Stampin' Up DSP is double sided, I was able to get several different, but similar, cards.

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

Paper - Basic White, Cherry Cobbler, Petal Pink Cardstock; Parisian Beauty Specialty DSP

Cheerful Anniversary Daisies

Hello and welcome back! Here's today's card:

This card was inspired by the challenges at Freshly Made SketchesHand Stamped Sentiments, and Paper Craft Crew.

I used the daisies in the upper left corner of the mood board as my inspiration. The new Cheerful Daisies stamp set was perfect for this card! I added some layering with Fresh Freesia to pop the circles. And I even had some Fresh Freesia Opal Rounds in my stash to add a little bling!

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

Sapphire Anniversary

Hello and welcome back! Today's card is for a 45th (sapphire) anniversary.

This design was inspired by the sketch at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenges.

I used strips of the Night of Navy piece from the Blue Foils and some Balmy Blue Glimmer Paper to create the background. I had planned to butt them together, but the math didn't work. Trying to measure in 32nds of an inch is just a bit much! I actually like it this way, with the tiny gaps.

I had originally stamped the numbers and the word "anniversary" directly on the white panel, but I didn't like the way it looked. So I modified a die-cut Stitched Rectangle and layered it on top of the panel. To make it fit, I tucked it under the loops on "happy" and edged the die-cut with a marker to give it some dimension.

Garden Lane Anniversary

Hello and welcome back! Here's today's card:

The design was inspired by the challenges at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge, Double Trouble Challenges, and Tic Tac Toe Challenges (middle row - die cut, green, layers). I forgot about the plaid for the "Thing 3 twist" at Double Trouble, but that pattern down in the lower right corner looks a bit plaid-ish!

I used 3 different sheets of the "vintage" Garden Lane DSP and cut the "almost" squares, using both sides of the paper. I added them to a layer of Mossy Meadow, then die cut a scalloped rectangle to layer the stamped piece onto. The sentiment was stamped onto a bit of Soft Sea Foam and flagged at the ends to make the banner. A few of my favorite Iridescent Rhinestones for bling, and we're done!

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

Cherry Blossoms Anniversary

Hello and welcome back! Here's today's card:

This card was inspired by the recipe challenge at As You See It and the challenge at Shopping Our Stash.

I have friends who live near Washington, DC with an anniversary coming up. A card with cherry blossoms is perfect, and fits this challenge, too!

I pulled out some "vintage" Primrose Petals Core'dinations cardstock, ran it through my Big Shot with the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder, then rubbed it with a sanding block to expose the color inside. The cherry blossoms are colored with Pink Pirouette and Old Olive Stampin' Blends and I added a Primrose Petals bow and some Heart Pearls to embellish the card.

So Much Love Anniversary

Hello and welcome back! Here's today's card:

This card was inspired by the challenges at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge, Color Throwdown, and Double Trouble.

I'm always needing anniversary cards for my stash, so when this set appeared in the new Mini Catalog, it was at the top of my list! I pulled a lot of retired products for this card - good thing I have a big stash! I fussy cut the edge of the lace patterned paper to match the torn edge on the sketch and used ribbon for the solid piece under the sentiment.

Anniversary Love Notes

Hello and welcome back! Here's today's card:

I used several challenges as inspiration for this card: Hand Stamped Sentiments, Color Throwdown, Shopping Our Stash, and Sunday Stamps Challenge.

My other inspiration for this card is my friends and my sister, who both have wedding anniversaries on Valentine's Day. Their cards usually take on a Valentine theme, and this year is no different! I used a heart in the center instead of the circle in the Sunday Stamps sketch and added little love note envelopes instead of floral accents.

To bring in the colors for the Color Throwdown challenge, I used Soft Sea Foam as the green in the card base and small hearts on the envelopes, kraft paper for the envelopes as the brown, and stamped on the love notes in Blushing Bride for the pink. I think the red is obvious!

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

People Like You...

Hello and welcome back! Here's today's card:

This card is for the stitching challenge at Double Trouble. I didn't have any mythical or magical creatures in my stash, but I've got lots of stitched stuff!

There is stitching on the floral panel and the border of the sentiment label, as well as the beautiful needlepoint stitching in the DSP. I tied a bit of linen thread around the banner to add some actual fiber to the card, then added a single Opal Round to the center of the stitched flower for some sparkle. And I don't know why, but no matter how hard I try to center these types of embellishments, they always seem to shift!

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

Pretty Medallion Anniversary

Hello and welcome back! Here's today's card:

This card is for the challenges at Freshly Made Sketches and Just Add Ink.

For this card, I stamped the Pretty Medallion with Pacific Point onto Sahara Sand cardstock and colored it with Watercolor Pencils. The "favorite" that I added was the Iridescent Rhinestones. They are such a versatile embellishment - they pick up the color of whatever is nearby.

The sentiment was stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with white powder, then the strip was adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals.

I started out to make two of these cards, but had a halo on the stamped image on the second one. So I just trimmed it down a bit further to get rid of it and I got a little wider border on this card. It's still just as pretty and it matches the sketch a bit better!

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!
