bondi to bronte

(dress: boohoo, sandals: kmart)

Oh how I'm missing the sun's warm rays at the moment. The last few weeks have brought nothing but rain and some of the coldest days I can ever remember experiencing. It's an absolute struggle to move around and be productive, let alone get out of my bed in the morning. While I do love winter - at the moment, I really can't wait for it to be over. I am however making the most of my time indoors, by putting all my focus into a couple of DIY projects while I'm on work-holidays. I ventured outdoors today to pick up all the materials I'll need so tomorrow I can get started on some DIY pinboards for our office & kitchen.

These photos were taken just a few months back - crazy how the weather can change so much. Scott and I had gone to Bondi beach and done the Bondi to Bronte walk. Its a gorgeous walk which didn't take us all the long to do either. I'm rather surprised really that we hadn't done it before.

On the wall

(Boots: Betts, Leggings: Target, Dress: Chicabooti, Jumper: Boohoo)

School holidays are just around the corner and I couldn't be happier. This term has been full-on with writing reports, new students, and the regular stresses of running a class. We get two full weeks off and at this point I am planning to just relax and really enjoy my time away from work. I'll probably venture out on a few shopping trips, upload some videos, re-ombre my hair and get working on my 27 before 28 list. The first thing I want to do is finish the DIY dressing table I started about a month ago. I don't have all that much to do - it just a matter of finding the right materials to finish the job!

Before the holidays start however, Scott and I have our first appointment with our brand new fertility doctor at Genea. We've been seeing someone else for about 8 months and we have been less than impressed. A close friend of mine went through Genea to fall pregnant with her daughter and she couldn't say a bad word about them. I've heard lots of great feedback from others, and so I'm really excited about this appointment. To finally speak to someone who cares, and who is going to do everything they can to help us achieve our goal of becoming parents. The appointment is this coming Tuesday, I can't wait.

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend, today I'm off to a tupperware party hosted by my lovely friend Mel. Then a night of games and good company with the fabulous Nicole and hubby Nathan. Tomorrow we are having brunch with my mother-in-law and then I'm off to watch Scott play soccer. Sunday evening I'll be winding down and planning a few things for the last week of school before we are on holidays. What are your plans for the weekend?

Seagreen ruffles

(dress courtesy of edressy.com, shoes from wanted)

For some time now, dress shopping has really become a hassle. Most, if not all the stores that sell things within my price range, offer dresses that are too short, and of poor quality. Its truly disappointing and down right annoying. How hard should it be for a girl to find a nice evening dress anyways?

And so as you would imagine, I was totally smitten with excitment when the lovely people over at edressy.com sent me this gorgeous dress to photograph for them. I'll be honest with you - coming from an Asian company, I didn't really have high hopes in terms of the quality. I couldn't of been any more wrong. The dress arrived well made, fully lined and with a completely boned bodice. The fabric is soft and comfortable, the dress is a perfect fit. Looking forward to wearing this baby out to my friends wedding this August.

On a more personal note, things have been really great at work lately. I've been "computer coordinator in training" for about a year or so now, and recently have been given the opportunity to develop those skills further. Its a fun and exciting time, I really am feeling more and more at home in my job. I feel like I actually have valuable skills, and its great to be given the opportunity to refine and use those skills to help others.

a cape kinda day

It was a cape kinda day today. Its almost the end of autumn and winter is well and truly around the corner. Fortunately the sun is still quite warm most of the time, however when its gone - its awfully cold! I've made quite the collection of capes over the last few months and its finally gotten cold enough so I can wear them! This one was from ebay for a crazy $22 including shipping from the UK - crazy I know! But hey ... I'm not complaining. Even though I love the cooler months, I really do hope the sun does stay out to play for a wee bit longer. Its my birthday in a couple of weeks time and I'm thinking of inviting some friends out to Centennial Park for a nice picnic / weather permitting.... I guess only time will tell.

easter on the farm

(boots and cape: ebay, socks: asos, leggings: boohoo, long singlet: cotton on)

Hope you all had a lovely Easter this year! We spent the day on my father-in-laws farm, with my in laws and brother/sister in law too. We had lunch, then just relaxed, before going for a long walk through the farm. Afterwards we enjoyed some dinner, then played some uno and boardgames before calling it a day!

Luckily we didn't have much chocolate this year - feels great to come out the other end of a holiday and still feel healthy! I don't know why, but chocolate just wasn't a bit part of Easter for us this year.

How did you celebrate Easter this year?

slightly blah

(dress and bag: thrifted, shoes: kmart, hat: dotti)

I've been feeling rather blah lately. Nothing seems to be going right, nothing in my personal life, nothing in my work life.. I feel like I'm stuck in a place that I just don't know how to get out of at this point. Perhaps I just need a holiday. The Easter long weekend is coming up this Friday and it couldn't of come at a better time. I just feel like there is so much going on right now - I just need a short break from it all.

This dress is newly thrifted - and I think its borderline ok in terms of length appropriate for work. Its been rather hot and humid while in the same day cold and wet, so its been fairly hard to dress weather appropriate lately. This weeks forecast looks really good though - I'm looking forward to the last of Sydney's gorgeous days before the real autumn/winter weather sets in.

Hope you all have a great Easter long weekend, I think Scott and I are going to just hang out at home and sort out some house things - what are your plans?

White frame

Next time you see my hair - it will be a subtle ombre! I had an appointment yesterday morning at my local hairdresser for an ombre colouring. Two and a half hours later I stepped out a new woman. I really do like the colouring - my stylist did a great job. Its quite a subtle ombre though - I didn't want to go anything too dramatic for the first time (especially since I have never coloured my hair in the past). I think next time I go I could definitley go a bit lighter! Looking forward to showing you all soon.

Paisley weekend

Hope everyone had a lovely weekend. I spent half of mine preparing for work.... and it has totally drained me! I am completely exhausted and overwhelmed.  So much so that I really can't bring myself to do anything productive right now. All I can think of is shopping, and buying lots of new things for myself, despite having already spent a few hundred dollars over the last few days online. How ridiculously shallow is that? Oh dear. The story of my life.

thrifted peplum

(dress, shoes & bag: thrifted)

So I'm back at work this week, and even though I've only been with the kids for three days, I am totally exhausted. I hadn't really thought about how draining teaching a younger group of kids would be. This year I have been given a year 1/2 class, so its a mix of twenty-three children, aged from 6 to 8. They are all delightful, and some a bit boisterous. At times I'm love having a new age group of students to teach and at others I feel completely overwhelmed. Deep down, I'm just happy its Friday.

Scott and I are doing date-nights again too! We had stopped towards the end of last year, due to us both being very busy at work and other commitments that the end of each year brings. The photos above are of what I wore on our latest date night. Surprisingly the whole outfit is thrifted, costing me about $27. I'm not 100% on the dress though - I love the pattern and the peplum style, but I don't particularly like the high Asian-inspired collar.... oh well - I guess I can't complain on a $12 dress! Have a lovely weekend everyone.

lost treasures

(dress: ally, top: h&m, bag: vintage, shoes: rubi, hair clip: ebay)

Ever put clothes you no longer want in a box or bag which then disappears in your house somewhere, only to reappear a year or more later? Then when you go through all these old clothes, you somehow love them all again? Well, thats exactly what happened with this top. About a year ago, and possibly even before that, I went through my closet and boxed a whole heap of things - things that didn't fit right, look right, feel right etc. I couldn't bring myself to let them go so I put them in a box and didn't see them again till a few days ago. Opening this box - I must admit it felt a bit like Christmas.
