There She Goes List Challenge TSG48

Last weekend, my son and I went to the outlet mall, and every time I go out there, I like to stroll around the Coach store just to look, basically making sure there isnt a handbag that I "must have". Lately, that has been the case. But, last weekend, there was a super cute bag that I really wanted, but my budget said NO. So, instead of dreaming of a handbag that wasnt meant to be, I found this adorable stamp set from MFT called Totally Fabulous. And, it was on sale! So, not only did I get my handbag fix with a stamp set, but it was on sale. What more can you ask for? HAHA...

I paired a couple of challenges with this card. First, the sketch at Our Creative Corner, and the second, the list challenge at There She Goes. The list challenge is this:
3 different colors:(I chose)Black, Rose Red & Bermuda Bay
2 different dp:(I chose) Rose Red dsp & Night and Day dsp
1 button: I got this button from one of the extras off a shirt
1 ribbon:(I chose) Bermuda Bay
no other embellishments.

I paper pieced the skirt with Rose Red dsp, and her shirt with textured black cs. I added glossy accents to her handbag to give it a patent leather effect. I also used a very vanilla watercolor wonder crayon to give the effect of a store front window.

Details:
Stamps: Totally Fabulous (MFT)
Paper: Bermuda Bay, Rose Red, Rose Red dsp,
Night & Day dsp Watercolor
Ink: Momento Tuxedo Black
Coloring Medium: Prismacolors
Tools/Accessories: Bermuda Bay Ribbon, misc button, word window,
Ticket corner punch, scallop edge punch,
Very vanilla crayon, Glossy Accents
Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope you like what you see!

Raise the Bar challenge #7, Get Sketchy #27 & Cute Card Thursday #101! A 3-fer!

Hello my friends! I just could not wait to share this with you all! I fell in love with this Crafting Cuppie from Taylored Expressions when my bff, Cassie sent me an adorable RAK sketch book and card made with this very set. (you can click on Cassie's name to see what she made with this stamp set) I am always e-following Cassie around blogs and online crafting stores, so of course, I had to add this set to my stamp collection.  I made it with three challenges in mind: First, another favorite challenge of the week, the Raise the Bar challenge, its called: "Three's Company" using incriments of 3 anywhere on your card. Second, the sketch challenge at Get Sketchy.

And Third, Cute Card Thursday's challenge #101, Ribbon-Tastic - which calls for Ribbon - a little or a lot on your card or project.

As always, I had totally different papers in mind for this card, but what happens happens, and it seems the card kind of makes itself... but when that happens, I seem to always be the happiest with the results.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Raise the Bar Challenge #6 - No Stamping Allowed!

Hello! This week's Raise the Bar challenge is simply "No Stamping", well, except for one sentiment. I really like making cards with images other than stamps, I think its a fun way to "think out of the box". I chose the adorable Sweet Pea felt flowers and Flower Fusion as my focal images. I was also inspired by the sketch at the Truly Scrumptious blog. I think the two challenges really worked well together.

Paper: Sweet Pea dsp, Old Olive, Rose Red
Ink: Rose Red

So as a *bonus* here is the list book:

Raise the Bar Challenge #5 - Be Mine Forever

Happy Happy Valentine's day! Ya know, I just now noticed that my dsp has hearts on it! How fitting right? lol .. Anyway, this card is for the Raise the Bar challenge #5. The "Be mine forever" challenge. Well, its not what you think when you first read the title. The challenge is to use a stamp set/item ect that you will never sell or give up.
This was a tough choice for me... I just went thru my stampin up stamps a couple weeks ago and took out all the sets I could actually live without and sold them on ebay. So, several of the stamp sets that remain I cant see living without.
BUT, in the end, this set, Loads of Love (su) is the winner for this challenge. Loads of Love is the very first stamp set I ever purchased. My BFF, Cassie, was a SU consultant and she showed me all about stamping and I was immediately hooked, and still hooked some 5 years later. She is still my stamping mentor and BFF even though we now live 1600 miles apart.
So, to sum it all up, Loads of Love (+accessories stamp set) is a stamp set that will Be Mine Forever.
Details:
Stamps: Loads of Love & Accessories (su)
Paper: Bermuda Bay, Welcome Home dsp, watercolor,
Whisper White
Ink: Basic Black, Bermuda Bay
Coloring Medium: Prismacolor & Gamsol
Tools/Accessories: Ticket corner punch, Corner rounder,
Labels 4 Nestabilities, Sponge, Pumpkin Pie brads
Thank you so much for stopping by my blog! I would love to hear what you think!

Three Winter Wishes

Hey All! Do you ever have one of those crafting days? Where you want to craft, you have ideas, and when you sit down at the table, everything goes all wrong, and it is a fight to the finish? Welp, that was me today with this card. Everyday, I look up some challenges and jot them down in my sketch book. Today, I was intrigued by the color challenge at splitcoast, ( bermuda bay or taken with teal, old olive, pretty in pink & neutral of choice) the Christmas Card challenge at PaperTake Weekly, and the Pile it On challenge (use Rub-Ons), and thought they would all go so great together! I love a Christmas card without the traditional red and green. Yes, I also like the red and green ... lol..
So with this card, I had a totally different idea, I cut out the trees from a piece of Holiday Lounge dsp and the circles on those trees inspired the use (yes again!) of my sweet snowman family. But things just wernt working, not only were the ideas just not flowing, but things were not working! I had to redo and redo and completely change my sketch! Finally, I finished.. I shake my head with uncertainty about this card, but I am posting it anyway, as a symbol of victory over this card. Thanks for stopping by! I'd love to hear what you think about this creation... good or bad! I want to hear it! :0)
The Details:
Stamps: Snowman Wishes (CDStamps)
Paper: Taken with Teal, Whisper White, Holiday Lounge dsp, Old Olive, Pretty in Pink

Pile it on #15 - Color Pop! + Card Patterns + Ways To Use It

Happy Monday Everyone! Supposed to be that Mondays are intended as a chore catch up day, but today, the laundry & the dishes still need to be put away, the vacuum remains in the closet and the kitchen remains unmopped. I just wanted to play along with a couple challenges this morning. One if the "good" things about my dh being a ddh, (dear deployed husband) is that he wont notice if I skip a day of chores..and I get to watch HGTV anytime I want. LOL.
Anyway, I made this card with inspiration from three challenges. 1) Pile it on where the challenge is "Color Pop", use black & white & one more color. 2) The ways to use it challenge at splitcoast where the challenge is to use RED and 3) Card Patterns for the sketch.
As a sidenote, yes, you do see some yellow but that is just to highlight the windows/lights so I dont really consider it a "color" in my card.
I chose this super cool 1969 Camaro designed by Laurie Wilson at Clear Dollar Stamps, as my focal point, highlighted by dahlia nesties and night and day (su) dsp. Although this is not officially one of my Guest Designer stamp sets from Clear Dollar, I, along with Lori G, am a guest designer for the month of September! There are so many great stamp sets that came out Sept 1, click HERE to check them out! Thank you for visiting my blog! I hope you have a great day!
The Details:

PAPER: Basic Black, Real Red, Night & Day dsp, Watercolor paper

Hi Everyone! I had so much fun this morning working as a Clear Dollar Stamps Guest Designer! I, as you know, along with Lori G was chosen to be a guest designer for September and I have been really really enjoying it! I hope September lasts for months and months! I normally can't wait to be able to check another month off the calender, marking one month closer to see my DDH (Dear Deployed Husband).. but for Clear Dollar, I will make an exception and have September last and last and last ... {chuckle} But, since we all know, time stands still for no one, I better get onto the business at hand!
This sample is for the Clean & Simple challenge at Splitcoast. The challenge is to not only make a clean and simple card, but to add dimentionals/pop up dots to the project. I used The Grind stamp set designed by the very talented Laurie Wilson. This is such a fun set especially for the coffee enthusiast that I am!

The Pink Elephant #26 Recipe Challenge

Good Saturday Afternoon everyone! Today I went in the craft room with a purpose. Not only to participate in a challenge or two, but I needed a Thank You card for some sweet RAK that came in the mail today, and my go-to box is just about empty! So, I had a little fun with this one. This one is for the recipe challenge over at The Pink Elephant. The challenge is to use 3 brads,1 flower and dsp. I ended up using two stamp sets from two different companies, dsp from Basic Grey and my "sun" is a handmade crocheted flower from Leah's Esty Shop. My 3 brads are also from Basic Grey, two are with the sentiment and one is the center of my sun/flower. I paper-pieced the dsp onto the tank tops and undies - Kraft paper is under leaving the clothespins popped up a little bit. ;p Thanks for stopping by and for sharing your thoughts!

Here are the details:
Stamps: Season of Friendship (su) & Hanging Out (CDstamps)
Paper: Barely Banana, Kraft, Lime Rickey dsp (basic gray)
Ink: Basic Grey, Soft Suede, Glorious Green, Green Galore, Only Orange
Accessories: Lime Rickey Brads, handmade flower (leah's esty shop)

Paper Blooms #11 Challenge Rollin' on Dubs (lol)

Ok, so this card is kind of silly... It is meant to be a little on the funny side. We have all seen them, cars and trucks driving around with huge tires and a window sticker declaring that they are "rollin' on dubs" as if that is not painfully obvious by the large tires rolling under their vehicles. Maybe everyone has not seen this, but we saw it alot when we lived in Georgia/Alabama. LoL..
Anyway, I will move on... Today's challenge over at the paperblooms blog is to create a project with a man of influence in mind / father's day. Wanting to incorporate paperblooms on a "man's card" added an extra challenge, and this is what I came up with. I used the truck image from the Loads of Love stamp set (su) and watercolored it with real red. I then I cut two real red smallest circles from the circle nesties and affixed my paper blooms"tires" onto the red adding my "hubcap" silver large 5/8" (su) brads. I cut out the truck and affixed it to the whisper white circle nestie that I sponged with basic grey and pacific point. I then affixed that to a basic black scalloped octagon nestie (second to the largest). I added the two strips of pacific point dsp from good morning sunshine dsp and one strip of black stitched ribbon (from scrapbook pal). The sentiment is from clear dollar stamps stamped on real red with the edges sponged in basic grey. Welp, that about covers it! Thanks for stopping by and for sharing your thoughts!

Limited Supply Challenge LSC 223

Talk about limited supply! This week the challenge is to make a one layered card in a summer theme. Woah! One Layer? And that did not mean one layer on top of the card base, it meant the card base IS your layer! Ouch. My new Peony stamp set from clear dollar arrived today so that is what I chose to use. I knew I would love this beautiful set designed by Kim Teasdale as soon as I saw the preview, and yep, this set does not dissapoint. What I did here was first stamped the peony on scrap paper and cut out the mask. Then I stamped the peony onto very vanilla textured cardstock (su) three times using the mask. Then I again used the mask to sponge baja breeze (su) around the flowers. I watercolored the stems and leaves in old olive (su) and the flowers in riding hood red and tangerine tango (su) with so saffron & tangerine tango in the center of each flower. Finally, after all that tedious watercoloring I stamped the sentiment in pacific point straight onto the card! This one really is ONE layer. I really love this stamp set, Great Job Kim! I know I will get alot of use out of it. I can see so many possibilities! I do love a good flower stamp! Thanks for stopping by and for sharing your thougths!

The Pink Elephant #17 recipe challenge

This is my submission for this week's Pink Elephant challenge . This time its a recipe challenge! Use 3 buttons, 2 layers and 1 sentiment. I was inspired by the "a perfect pair" rub on sentiment from chit chat rub ons (su). All supplies listed are stampin up.
Kiwi kiss back, chocolate chip embossed background. I used dsp from good morning sunshine for the both the kiwi kiss and chocolate chip pinking circles. The chipboard top was inked with chocolate chip and the pear was covered in kiwi dsp then the cut out pear was adhered to the top of that. The buttons are kiwi kiss and chocolate chip corduroy buttons, and finally I used the word window punch that fit my sentiment perfectly. Since the challenge said 2 layers can be interpereted in any way, I have 2 layers for my background, and 2 layers for my focal point! How fun is this? Thank you for stopping by and for sharing your thoughts!

Clear Dollar June Guest Designer Call!

I have wanted to 'try out' for the guest designer for a few months now, and this month I finally have time to do it, thanks to the army! {lol}
For this card, I used Basic Grey "Granola" paper and brads and the card back is kraft. I found the Basic Grey paper and brads at Clear Dollar Stamps along with the ribbon and the stamp set I chose, Zoo Critters, which can all be found at: http://www.newcleardollarstamps.com/servlet/Detail?no=3475
I watercolored this cute lion with creamy carmel for his body, more mustard for his mane and cameo coral for his nose, ears and mouth. All colors listed are SU. I used my newly purchased SU word window for the sentiment, which reads 'purr-mane-ent friends'. I have had this stamp set for a little while, and just found the inspiration to ink it up. This paper seems a little "jungley" to me, so the lion got his first kiss of ink. He is stamped with Stazon Black on watercolor paper. Thanks for looking (fingers crossed) and for sharing your thoughts!

Double the challenge, double the fun

This is my submission for this week's challenge over at http://www.thepinkelephantchallenge.blogspot.com/ . The challenge was to use a monogram. I also used the sketch challege for this week over at the twisted thursdays blog: http://pat-stamppaperandink.blogspot.com/2009/05/s2gsc11-twisted-thursday.html. The twist for this week was to create a 4x4 card. I used circle nesties and pinking nesties, and the paper is from the pink flamingo collection. The backgrounds are in basic black. The sentiment is from cheep talk and the C is from Tall Tales, all stampin up.
