Kobi's Fourth Birthday

Kobi turned 4 July 19th. As you can see, we had a Buzz Lightyear party witht the family. I made him the cake by the way...I must say I was pretty proud of myself, just don't zoom in on it :) He'd been asking for a pet for a long time so we caved and bought him a kitty for his birthday. She's a lot cuter than the red eyed pictures do justice. She's half siamese and half tabby. She has really pretty light blue eyes and is really sweet with the kids. Kobi named her Penny from one of his favorite movies, Bolt.

California

In June we went to California with my family. It was awesome, my parents rented a house down the street from Disneyland. Kobi called it the "Mickey Mouse House" because every room was decked out in Disney. We are lucky to have parents that pay for us to go on vacation with them. Thanks Mom and Dad. We love you!

Disneyland

Day One:
The first day was devoted to the kids...toon town, peter pan, dumbo, meeting mickey, etc. It was fun to go with such young kids, especially Kobi. Kobi's at that age where he really believed it. He really believed he was meeting Mickey, witnessing "real-life" (as kobi would say) pirates, or riding through Neverland. We are so lucky to have parents that love to travel...and take us along :)

Day Two:
The second day was really fun. As much fun as it was to have Kobi and Lilah with us the first day, it was nice to be able to leave them behind with my family and have a day with the hub. Chris and I had a blast, we rode on all the "big kid" rides, got soaked on splash mountain and the water rappids, and ate lots of good food (again. The chowder was amazing :)Oh and we watched Captain E.O. in 3D, what a classic.

Salt Creek Beach

We took one day to go surfing and relax at Salt Creek Beach. Back when Chris & I lived in California, this was our favorite beach to go to. We knew we saw surfers and boogie boarders there often and Chris even went boogie boarding there once, but we didn't realise the surfers there were more "professional"...so we felt pretty silly when our "brady bunch" family all walked in wearing wetsuits carrying surfboards...We realised quickly we needed to move on to another beach a little slower paced :) We brushed the sand off our shoulders and took our time getting out...after we took a few "wipeouts" for the team via boogie board.

p.s. we're making the same goofy face hehe

Landon's Home

On May 19th my brother Landon returned from his 2 year mission in Ventura, CA. We are so excited to have him home and proud of the man he has become :)
