The Spring Tree...my version...

Chipping with Charm: Spring Tree...http://chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/

I've seen so many cute version of the spring tree...that I hesitated to show you mine.  But since I'm on a tree "kick", I decided...why not?
Chipping with Charm: Spring Tree...http://chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/
Pretty basic...a pot flipped upside down with a spring on top.
Chipping with Charm: Spring Tree...http://chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/
I started with just a star and a tag.

Then I added a few ornaments for fun.

Or maybe without the tag...whatever makes you happy.
My kids like them with the ornaments...

...but I think I like them plain.

How about you?

Benches to Bookshelf...to Christmas "Tree"

Chipping with Charm: Stacked Bench Tree...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/

Chipping with Charm: Stacked Bench Bookshelf...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/

A while back I showed you my little stacked bench book shelf.

Chipping with Charm: Stacked Bench Tree...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/

I recently added another small stool to the stack...and now it has a new "life" for Christmas as a "tree".

Chipping with Charm: Stacked Bench Tree...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/

I just added some fresh greens and twinkle lights...

...along with some blue glass and rusty junk for "ornaments".

Chipping with Charm: Stacked Bench Tree...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/

Of course every tree needs a star...the rustier the better?

Chipping with Charm: Stacked Bench Tree...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/

This little space made a great spot for one of my nativity sets...I have a "few" around the house.  You'll see ;)

Chipping with Charm: Stacked Bench Tree...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/

I actually thought about moving the books...but then left them.  I think it adds to the "re-purposed" theme...bookshelf to tree.  Functional and festive, my favorite.

This adds to my "tree" obsession this year...more to come.

There's still time to link your "Christmas junk" up to the Junker's United Link party...you can do that HERE.

Broken Lantern + Ball Jar = Snow Globe

Chipping with Charm: Lantern+Ball Jar=Snow Globe...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/

Sorry I have been MIA again this week...still busy decorating and creating.  I LOVE this time of year...and for me it's not just a matter of opening some bins and putting stuff out.  I like to use things I have and create a new look each year.  Time consuming...but for me it's a little piece of Heaven on earth.  Really.

And since I'm not ready for a "reveal" of what I've been working on here...I thought I'd show you something else I made for our booth at Antiques Downtown...

Chipping with Charm: Lantern+Ball Jar=Snow Globe...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/

I bought this empty shell of a lantern at an occasional sale...

...it was the perfect fit for a ball jar.

I painted the lid aqua for fun.

Some "snow" and a little tree...

Chipping with Charm: Lantern+Ball Jar=Snow Globe...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/

...and of course a happy little "embellishment".

Cute little decoration for the Holidays.
It sold right away :)

Crates and a Plate Christmas Tree...obsessed...

Chipping with Charm: Crate and Plate Christmas Tree...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/

OK friends, I'm just going to go ahead and say it early on...I am OBSESSED with salvaged and re-purposed tree ideas this year!!

I've already shared a couple...

Chipping with Charm: Glass Insulator Christmas Tree...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/

And next there were the INSULATOR TREES.

Now I want to show you my crate tree.

I fell in LOVE with the crate tree that Laura from Finding Home made last year.  That's where my inspiration came from.
See her original version (among other great handmade gift ideas)...
Thanks Laura!!

For mine I started with a yardstick.

Then I used small screws to add some crates I already had in my stash.  I also added a license plate for fun too.

The yardstick was the perfect length...even a little extra for a "trunk" at the bottom :)

The finishing touch is a star ornament I bought at an occasional sale last Christmas.

And now is hangs nicely in my partly decorated "sitting room".

Are you "obsessed" with unique tree ideas too??

Vintage Earring Advent Tree...better late than never...

One of my favorite Christmas memories from my childhood was the old felt tree advent calendar that we pulled out each year.  Do you remember the ones with the snap on ornaments??

So when I found these little numbered tags (that went up to 25) at the Junk Bonanza a couple of years ago...to me they were always "meant to be" for advent.
(Not sure what they were originally??  Maybe cow tags?)

After finishing my "Tree of Gratitude" for Thanksgiving...I finally got around to pulling it all together.  Better late than never??

I ordered these little canvas bags from Save-on Crafts and I printed out the little slips from a link I found on Pinterest.  Then I added treats and a magnet made from a vintage earring for each day.

My kids get excited to open their "package" each day to add it to our "tree".

And on Christmas day there will be a special message...

...and a star to add to the top :)

Hopefully my kiddos will enjoy this for years to come...and remember the real meaning of Christmas...

We're almost done decorating...but truthfully I'm never really "done" decorating.  Part of the fun for me is switching things up and add things here and there.  I'll show you what I've been up to...as soon as I clean up the trail of glitter and greens...everywhere :)

"Happy December" everyone...
The most "wonderful time of the year"!!

A Tree of Gratitude...a new Thanksgiving tradition...

So we started a new Thanksgiving tradition at our house this year...

A Tree of Gratitude

The idea started with one of these trays with the tree-like shape in the middle.

You might remember them from a previous post...when I used them for a FAMILY TREE PHOTO HOLDER.

This time I used a leaf stamp and some old book pages to make some leaves.

I made enough leaves for each person in my family to write something they are thankful for each day leading up to Thanksgiving...starting the Sunday before.  This year we got started late so we did them all at once...but next year we will do them one at a time and then pray together thanking God for each blessing and then praying for those without.

The magnets are just made with little buttons...'cause buttons make everything cuter, right?

I had them write the year and their initial on the back of each leaf...we'll keep them from year to year and look back at all of our blessings...and someday this little drawer will be "overflowing with gratitude".

And of course you all made the "leaf" :)

I am so very thankful for each one of you and the support and encouragement you give me here on this little blog of mine. It has been such a blessing to me...
Life changing...REALLY...
Thank you!!

So as we celebrate Thanksgiving and head into the beautiful...but BUSY Christmas season, here is my prayer for you...
The Lord bless you and keep you!
The Lord let his face shine upon you, and be gracious to you!
The Lord look upon you kindly and give you peace!
Numbers 6:24-26
My dad is a retired minister and I can still hear his voice saying this at the end of each Sunday service while I was growing up...it gave me a boost and sense of excitement for the week ahead...and so I'll send you off with that today :)

Happy Thanksgiving!!
