Vintage French Buttons
Looky looky at the lovely buttons I discovered in a little second-hand shop the other day. Apparently they come from French button factories and were made in the 1950s. As you can imagine, I had a whale of a time rummaging through all the boxes and had to restrain myself from buying the whole lot! I eventually settled on the ones that I would have bought for myself anyway.
They are on my Folksy shop...

So Much Going On...
I am really sorry that I haven't been around at all. I have been training to be a Weight Watchers Leader - which I have now finished - and it has been a little bit stressful! I passed the assessment though and spent most of today drowning in 30 boxes of 'starter' kit!
Despite not actually doing much crafting, I have ordered lots of clasps and a new beading book. I will post pictures when they arrive. I have also packaged up some vintage (1950s) buttons from France, which will be going on my Folksy shop as and when I get 5 minutes to sit down!
I am really trying to keep in touch with everyone else's blogs, but it is not as easy as it sounds. I have just made a whirlwind visit to some of my favourites, but didn't have enough time to have a good mooch. I think that craft may be taking a bit of a back seat for a few weeks!

Thank You Claire Payne!
Thank you so much to Claire Payne, the organiser of the Pincushion Swap, for sending me this lovely parcel. She felt bad for me that my partner had let me down, so sent me a few bits, including a fantastic orange slice pincushion. I love it! The 'Pincushion Swap' logo button has a link to her blog, so please do go and have a look at her lovely things.

Peyote Bracelet
This bracelet idea came to me from a picture in a book I own by Carol Huber Cypher. I took the basic idea and made it my own, using buttons made for me by Gill at Hollingdale Designs. The finished result is lovely and really original. I love the hex beads in the work, giving it a bit of sparkle and bling, and Gill's buttons really make it look quirky.

Lookie lookie at my lovely order from Gill!
Aren't they gorgeous! I am going to use them on a patchwork bracelet I am making for a little girl. I thought that she would love the buttons to be heart shaped as all little girls love that sort of thing don't they. So, I knew exactly where to go to order some especially for me...Hollingdale Designs. She normally makes fantastic glass beads but has become a bit obsessed (in the best possible way!) with making buttons lately. There is a link on her website for her Folksy shop, where she sells them. Go and look, you will soon be adding buttons to everything you can lay your hands on! My son now knows not to stand still too long...
