Cupcake Thanks Candy Sticks...{Challenge Project}

Good Morning everyone!
I am popping in with a non DT related project, but with an entry for a few challenges!
It has been a while since I played along with any so I thought I would share an order I just completed that happened to fit into a few I love to play along with.
A friend of mine contacted me looking for some birthday party favors. She wanted some candy sticks, purple~her daughters favorite color~ a birthday theme with a thank you message so these are what I created.
Hope you like them!
Candy sticks are so fun to make! Decorating the tags to fit the theme, have just endless possibilities. For my tags, I used some freebie images I got from Paper Smooches (links down below) and I designed them to fit inside my circle and scallop die cut~ all using my Silhouette Designer Studio.
Once I had the design in place, I printed and cut the shapes, assembled the tag and then added diamond stickles to the frosting and cotton candy stickles to the cherries.
Once they were all dry, I attached them to my skinny candy bags (already filled with white and purple candy jewels) with some Grape Fizz Trendy Twine.

Supplies Used:
Purple, white cardstock
diamond stickles
cotton candy stickles

And there are my treats. I am sure hoping my friend and the birthday girl love these!!!
That is all I have to share for today. Thanks so much for stopping by and have a GREAT day!!

Love You Forever.....{Trendy Twine}

Good Morning Trendy Twiners!!!!
It is that time again.....our Trendy Twine Group post and boy are all the projects AWESOME!!!

This month the Trendy Twine DT is spotlighting all the solid colors of twine. LOVE the variety that is offered and there are more colors in the works!
Hey did you know that the Totally White can be colored using your copic markers? There will never be a project again that doesn't match! Just thought I would let you all know :)
Photo: Happy May!!! It is a new month and the Trendy Gals are spotlighting our awesome solid twists. (Keep in mind if you want your twine to match your project, color the Totally White Trendy Twine with your Copic markers. It works beautifully.) Click on the link for the current specials :)
http://shop.anniespaperboutique.com/MAY-SPOTLIGHT_c129.htm

For my card today, I used the Totally White Trendy Twine (a must have!) and I followed the new challenge~

Say It With a Sentiment:
Recipe:
(1) Sentiment as the focal point
(2)  Trendy Twine

**If you do not have Trendy Twine, use hemp, jute,
embroidery thread, or yarn only; NO ribbon
(no other brands of bakers twine)**

Deadline is 11:59 p.m. central time, Friday May 23rd

Here is my card....... Hope you like it!
I wanted to try some new things with my card that I have seen others in bloggy land do~ embossing on vellum and doing the lasso type thing with twine. I am very happy with the way this card turned out too! What are your thoughts?

I started with some black card stock as my base and added a layer of white and then a very light pink card stock. I heat embossed the "forever" sentiment using  Paper Smooches~We Connect stamp set and then with my sewing machine stitched it to my card mats.
The additional sentiments are also from the same Paper Smooches stamp set and those adorable hearts are from the My Guy set.
I did color the hearts using my copic markers, randomly placed some silver sequins onto my card and wrapped the Totally White Trendy Twine through the vellum, leaving it loose and in no particular pattern.

Good Luck........{Trendy Twine}

Good Morning Trendy Twiners!!!!

This month the Trendy Twine DT is spotlighting two of our green twines:
Limeade which is a bright green twisted with white
and
Totally Limeade which is a solid bright green.
Both of these are AWESOME and perfect for all your St. Patty's Day projects and/or those fun Spring inspired projects!

I have another CAS card to share today based on the current Trendy Twine Challenge.

The Challenge......
Good Luck with Trendy Twine
and must include the following....
~ Sentiment "good luck" or "best wishes"
~ The color green
~Trendy Twine**

**If you do not have Trendy Twine, use hemp, jute,
embroidery thread, or yarn only; NO ribbon
(no other brands of bakers twine)**

Deadline is 11:59 p.m. central time, Friday, March 28th.

Project must be new for the challenge.

St. Patrick's Day is going to be a fun day for me....I am coordinating the Teacher Appreciation Luncheon and we are having a St. Patty's Day party (minus the green beer...LOL)
I usually make a thank you treat for the teacher's to walk out with but this year, since we were looking for something else fun to do, we are giving each of the teacher's a scratch off ticket.... so I am making 65 more of these cards to put the ticket in.
Like I said above, since I am making so many of these cards, I went with a CAS design, one that can be massed produced.
I used a Bazzill Black card base cut to a 4x4 card size.
The sentiment is one I had in my stash....believing it is from Studio G (?) and I heat embossed it using some White Deliquesce embossing powder.
The adorable clover is a freebie that I picked up over at Paper Smooches and using my Silhouette Designer Studio I filled the image with some digital paper from Pretty Paper Pretty Ribbon.
Once the image was colored in, I printed all of them out and punched them all using my 2" circle punch.
Finally to finish my card off, I cut 2 slots, one on the top of my card and one on the bottom and wrapped the Totally Limeade Trendy Twine around the card front.
Those slots will  help to hold the twine in place eliminating the need to tape it down, plus I think it looks neat when you open the card and see a bit more color on the inside flap.

Here are the 2 spotlighted colors this month!
Make sure to pick them up..they are on sale all month long!!

Yippee!!!!

Now I am sure you want to see what I made for my hop project.....I am super excited about this and think it turned out cuter than I imaged :)
Here it is.....Pretty cute huh???? So let me walk you through what I made....
My project started out using the Clear Skinny Candy Bags and the cute bee and sentiment from Paper Smooches. After cutting, coloring and adding my stickles to the image, attaching the tags to the bags using the Bumblebee Trendy Twine, I thought the project needed something more. I LOVED the way they all turned out but it got me thinking as to what I could use to hold them....
That is what inspired the beehive holder. I used the Candy Tube Holder Pack from SVG Cutting Files, removed the one hole and centered the other hole. I added some designer paper from My Minds Eye~Unforgettable, cut the cute beehive from a file I picked up in the Silhouette store and wrapped the hive with more Bumblebee Trendy Twine. I couldn't leave the hive without another cutie bee so I printed, cut and colored another, popped him up on the hive and added some curly antenna using some wired string.
Last picture....promise :) Here is a closeup of the tag. You can see where I added the stickles to the wings and the body of the bee. I used my 3GJ bow maker to add double bows to the tops of all the tags. I also added some flat back gems in black to the centers of the bows.
Finally since this is all about the bumblebees, I found white and yellow chocolate candies to fill my skinny bags with.
Well there you have it!
I hope you have enjoyed my project!! I know I had a blast designing it!!

It is time to hop along to the very creative
Jessi

Dad, You're Reel Great.......... {The Kraft Journal}

Good Morning and Happy Monday everyone!!!
It is time for a new challenge over at

This week's challenge is...
Just For Him
Since Father's Day is just around the corner I made this card based on the sketch from Die Cutting Divas
for my kids to give to their dad.
It has been a while since I played along with their challenges and I really liked this sketch so hopefully you will like my take on it
So now I will walk you though all the fun products I used :)  I started with a Brown Kraft Cardstock base and added designer papers from the All About a Boy paper pack from Echo Park. (Like it???? I picked it up HERE at Annie's Paper Boutique). I picked up this fun stamps from Paper Smooches called  My Guy a while back and think I have only used one of the sentiments a few times so I knew I wanted to use more from it..plus it is perfect for a Father's Day card!
The cutie little fishy is from Miss Kate Cuttable's called "Fish in Bowl" and I cut him out using my cameo...minus a few pieces so I could add my own Peachy Keen face~ from the Erkle and Merkle Face Assortment set as well as adding some Flute Corrugated Kraft Paper  for some extra texture and dimension for the fish bow. Also added to the bowl is one of my favorite products from the The Kraft Outlet, the Natural Hemp Cord. I finished my fish off with some white gel pen eyes and popped the whole bowl up using some foam squares.
Finally, I used the sentiment from the stamp set and stamped it using Versafine ink...ooohhh such a GREAT ink for getting a rich bold sentiment! I also added another favorite product from The Kraft Outet~ some Custom Fasteners. I did nothing to them except add  the clear bubble that come in the set....flows with the theme of a fish bowl, right???

So there you have it....my inspiration for this week's challenge.
I hope you have enjoyed my card and will play along with us!
As always I have linked all the supplies I used from The Kraft Outlet throughout my description.  If you have not checked out the store yet....make sure you do! There is so much available, the prices are so reasonable and shipping is super fast!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you have a GREAT Monday!!

Just For Her.....{The Kraft Journal}

Good Morning and Happy Monday everyone!!!
It is time for a new challenge over at
This week's challenge is...

Just for Her
with mother's day just around the corner I wanted to share another card I made following this week's
Deconstructed Sketch 100
And here is my take on the sketch...
I started out with a Brown Kraft Cardstock base and used the designer papers from October Afternoon~ Modern Homemaker 8x8 paper pad. I wanted my card to have more of a distressed look so all the edges were inked using my Ink Blending Tool and Gathered Twigs distress ink. For my sentiment, I again used the Gathered twigs distress ink and Paper Smooches~ Sentiment Sampler set....I didn't have the "mom" stamp so I pieced letter from 2 of the other sentiments to stamp that. As you can also see I ran each of the pieces through my sewing machine just for alittle something more :)
Here is a close-up of the flower embellishment...... I started by laying down a layer of Red w/White Washi Tape and then using My Creative Time~ Flower Petal Dies cut out the largest and smallest flowers. For the middle flower I used Bazzill cream cardstock which is also the bases of all my pieces and the sentiment mat.
After the pieces were die cut, I inked the edges using my Ink Blending Tool and more Gathered Twigs distress ink. For the brad I used the 1/8th Inch Hole Punch and a Custom Fastener. To finish my flower off I added some felt die cut leaves and to complete my card I added 2 small Cream Twill Tape flags.
So there you have it....my inspiration for this week's challenge.
I hope you have enjoyed my card and will play along with us!
As always I have linked all the supplies I used from The Kraft Outlet below.  If you have not checked out the store yet....make sure you do! There is so much available, the prices are so reasonable and shipping is super fast!!!

You're An All Star~ PKS Challenge Entry

Happy Sunday everyone!
Hope you are all enjoying the weekend!!
Busy here as always but I was able to sneak some time last night to make a card to enter into this weeks
Peachy Keen Stamps challenge.
The challenge~
PK 13-9 :: Just Cards :: Oh My Stars!
how fun right!! So here is what a made~ hope you like it!!
For my card I used a kraft card base and papers from the Basic Grey~Shine on paper pack.
I found these stars on the silhouette store actually from a set from Lori Whitlock..love the pattern she made with them but just could not get the design to work with the idea I had in my head so I used the stars only and re~sized them to work.
I stamped the adorable large star with PKS~ Piles of Smiles and the sentiment comes from Paper Smooches~My Guy stamp set.
Finally I couldn't not use my sewing machine ~LOL~ so I ran a decorative stitch around the as a border.
What do you think???
Well that is all I have for you today! I am off to run errand, take my youngest to a birthday party and hopefully relax :)
Thanks so much for stopping by and have a GREAT day!!
