New Scissor Fobs

I recently added some new scissor fobs to my Etsy shop.  Here are a few of the designs that are left.

If you don't have scissors to dress up you could always use them as a purse charm on your handbag.

No purses to adorn?? Well...you could add them to your hoodie as a zipper pull.

No zippers in your life? Hmmm??  Add them to your Yoga bag as charm on the zipper.

Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a looking!

New Collection of Scissor Fobs

Do you "run with scissors"? Maybe you need a gift idea for your friend who is a quilter or enjoys sewing.

I've recently designed a collection of scissor fobs that are now available in my Etsy Shop here.

Some with Cherries, some with Cottage Roses, and some with Fried Egg Poppy flowers.

Some that are Heart shaped with extra fancy Heart closures.

If you have no scissors to adorn with a fob you could attach it to a handbag as a purse charm.

Another idea would be to add them as a zipper pull to your favorite hoodie jacket or your Yoga bag.

Each one hand beaded with Artisan crafted lampwork glass focal beads and assorted glass accent beads.

I'm sure there are are uses for these little cuties that I haven't even thought of.  If you think of one leave me a comment to share your idea.

Thanks for stopping by to take a look...

The Black and White Phase

It would appear that I am going through a "Black & White" thing lately.   It's actually more of a Checkerboard  phase.  For this Checkerboard cuff bracelet embellished with an American Artisan handcrafted Cherry lampwork bead, I've used a Brick stitch technique.

Ann Benson from Beads East has an excellent video on YouTube showing the Brick stitch technique.  She does an awesome job showing various beading techniques in a number of videos over there.

Here's a few other new Checkerboard bracelet designs done using a tubular herringbone stitch.

How about a couple of Checkerboard hoop earrings that I've hand wrapped on 2 inch hoops?

Last of all, here's a new Black and White Spiral beaded necklace that I recently completed.

Time to create...

So I've had a little time here lately to be creative.  I've titled this necklace "Checkered Cherry". Once again, I've crocheted with wire but this time I added little black and white seed beads in to give it that checkerboard appearance.

Here's a close up view of the necklace.

Here's a pair of earrings that I recently created. I'm calling these "Striped Cherries". Think abstract cherries since there aren't any leaves included.  Maybe I'm stretching the "cherry" thing...lol. Lots of ideas...back to the studio for me!
I'm joining Sue over at "It's A Very Cherry World" for Rednesday. Please stop over and see all the Red that everyone has to share.

M.E. Monday

Welcome again to Mary Engelbreit Monday. Please join us and post the link to your blog with the related Mary Engelbreit pictures to share with everyone. It can be a ME licensed product or something that was "inspired" by Mary Engelbreit's artwork. It "should" be a photo that you took of something that you own. We're flexible here....let's have fun above all else.

Well let me just say we almost had a crisis here in Cherry World today! My trusty Canon PowerShot A1000IS has been giving me some trouble here lately. For the last couple of weeks I had to press the display button on and off to be able to see a photo in the screen. Well....today when I went to take the picture for ME Monday even that little trick wouldn't work. Ugh! No digital camera! Say it ain't so! A frantic look for the manual offered no help. A quick jump online for support gave me no clues. I do have an email sent off to yonder land hoping that the big digital camera goddess in the sky will say "just push this button you silly girl" and all will be well again in Cherry World. But for now it ain't working.  The ole A1000 has been a trusty girl since I won her in a contest from the Ellen DeGeneres show one Christmas. I've had her since she arrived here January of 2009.
When the A1000 arrived she replaced the A560 PowerShot that had been working just fine. Obviously, being the A1000 she had more zoom and optical so the ole A560 went into the closet. Lucky for me I am a pack rat. When the camera wouldn't work this afternoon I went in search of the old camera. I found the really old A75 thinking that was the answer but it's been here even before the A560. It had a compact flash card and the display was whacky. I thought "This can't be right"??? Then I remembered recently moving the old camera bag to the closet, a quick dash back in there and I had my reliable old A560 again.  I put the batteries in her and she fired right up! She will have to do until I can figure out if it's worth fixing the "newest" version. I'm sure by now they are up to Canon A6000 models!

This week I'm sharing some things that are ME Inspired. I made these little beaded purses years ago out of some little silky drawstrings bags that a friend gave me. She had them from back in the day when she was a sales rep for Leggs hoisery. I guess at one time they had a giveaway with the little bags if I recall correctly. Anywho, she gave me a handful of the bags that I have made into various little decorated bags.
The top picture is my attempt at Flowers with little beaded cherries on the black/white fringe. The second bag is obviously my attempt at cherries. Lots of work but I think they turned out kinda cute.
Now it's your turn....Once you've posted your pictures come back and add your link to the link tool below. Please share the link back to my blog so that everyone can take part in sharing their post and picture.

She really, really needed it.........

As most of you who read my blog know, I design jewelry and sell it on my websites, my Artfire.com shop and my Etsy.com shop. A lot of my pieces have a "whimsical" flavor to them and I'm inspired by the artwork of Mary Engelbreit. A little over a week ago I got an email from "Pam" who wrote "I LOVE the fried egg flower watch you posted on ME Inspires me on Facebook and I really really need it!" Now tell me...how could I resist a plea like that? I wrote her back that if she "really, really needed it" I would be happy to make her one. She, also, wrote me in that email that she was an "avid ME fan". Well...that sealed the deal cuz anyone who is a fan of Ms. ME is a friend of mine. Pam wrote that she was a miniaturist, too. Hummm?? That might be a deal breaker...I've never known a "miniaturist" before. But then I went to the link that she sent me where I found her Oh So Cute little Mary Engelbreit dollhouse. That's how I found out about all of her fabulous little miniature creations. I told her that I would HAVE to share her work with everyone on my blog and she gave me her permission to use her photographs.
Miniature ME Lunch Box Scene
The scene above was created in a 7.5" x 6" tin lunch box. As Pam explained it to me, she works in "scales" of 1 inch and 1/4 inch. This means that 1" = 1 ft. or 1/4" = 1 ft. so you can just imagine how tiny her work is. I was just amazed as I looked at each of her creations.

You'll need to enlarge this little photo to see the details of the exterior and interior part of the house that she created in a ME recipe box...that's right....a recipe box. There is a little cat standing on the stool in the kitchen working on a laptop computer..too cute!

This little ME suitcase measures 11" x 7 1/4" but it holds the little miniature ME house with an outside sitting area.
Pam's Clocks or Room Boxes
Pam sells her clocks and room boxes over on her website. She moderates a Yahoo group for miniaturist and teaches others  how to create these wonderful little works of art. Please stop over and see more of her work on her website.
A big Thank You to Pam Junk for allowing me to share her ME Inspired creations.

Bright Decor with Engelbreit Style.......

I could live here....happily ever after.

I just came across this article published online back in June 2010 in the Orange County Registery. A story about a how a woman was "inspired" to decorate her house in Mary "Englebreit" style. Obviously, the writer of the story did not  know how Mary spells her name...sheesh.
There's a lot more pictures over at the article. I love how she had her wood floor in the kitchen painted to look like it was a rug and the tile behind the stove was painted, too.

ME Monday.....

Something New For Mondays...

My new friend, Genie, from over at "Buttons for Baga" has sent me  a Mary Engelbreit Challenge.  Ha...Ha...Ha..Ha... Foolish Woman! She already has conceded that I will win..lol!
I have decided to create "ME Mondays" here on my blog to share so that anyone who loves ME as much as we do can participate. It's easy to join in...starting Sunday night after 8 p.m. EST you'll be able to post your link to your blog with the related Mary Engelbreit pictures to share with everyone.  Have patience with me as this will be my first attempt at "Linky tools."
For our first ME Monday I put out the challenge to post a picture of what you think is your most unique ME item.  It can be a ME licensed product or something that was "inspired" by Mary Engelbreit's artwork.  It must be a photo that you took of something that you own.  They don't have to be magazine quality photos, either. We realize everyone is busy.
Along with this new ME Monday, I have launched the second page of my blog  "What..Where..Why..Is Cherry Chick Jewelry" On this new page I will be sharing information about the jewelry that I design and sell. I'm offering a "Giveaway" over there, too, so make sure you click over and enter the giveaway.

Mary Englebreit Sewing Needles

I think this is a pretty interesting ME item. I bought these years ago at JoAnn Fabrics. They had several designs of cards with a little sewing needle kit inside. Has anyone every seen these before??
