The Balloon Die from the New Vintage Collection with Maggi

3:30 AM 0 Comments
I love bright, bold colors and Graphic 45's World's Fair collection sure fits that bill!  What could be a more perfect collection to show you the vintage Cheery Lynn Designs Hot Air Balloon  die?   It is part of the Cheery Lynn Designs new Veriloquent Vintage Die release.  Isn't it pretty?
Again, using cut-aparts from the paper collection, I  diecut a layer using the Horizon Fish Tail Banner  to place underneath the sentiment, to make it really stand out.
The Ferris wheel cut-apart from the Graphic 45 collection is framed with layers of different sized diecuts.  I used the Alpine Flourish diecut directly underneath the cut-apart.  I placed a piece of cardstock under that and then a Scalloped Frame  over top the yellow Purple Stacker .  It's really great how Cheery Lynn's die sizes are coordinated so that you can make perfect layers.

A Sweet Friendship Card with Cheryl Walker

12:30 AM 0 Comments
Hello and Happy Saturday to you all! Today's sweet card was designed for Cheery Lynn Designs using 7 BEAUTIFUL Cheery Lynn Dies! To start with I chose to use the 2 different sizes of the Gardenia die. I LOVE the layering design of this die. I also love how Cheery Lynn makes them into strips so you can run it through the machine so easy and have lots of cuts . Oooo I'm also LOVING my Big Sister Die cut machine that I got through Cheery Lynn Designs! LOVE it more than the Big shots machine, I guess because you can adjust the level of pressure on your dies. Its awesome!!! If you haven't seen this machine, you have to watch their video.
Enough of me rambling on....hehehee now onto my card for today.

On this card I chose to use some older Crate paper to make some chocolate looking flowers. LOVE these gardenias ( B433 Small Gardenia Strip & B339 Gardenia Strip) and how they turned out. I spritzed them with spritz spray to give them some glitz, and to shape them easier. Love these!!!

The leaves B241 Rose Leaf Strip and the Flourish #8 were cut out using a green and then distressed.

The sentiment from The Project Bin was stamped on the LPC4 circle die, and then layered on the DL272 Doily Die Layered behind this is the DL282 Alpine Flourish Doily.
Thank you for stopping by, and please leave a comment letting me know what you think of my card for today!

Hugs to all,
Cheryl

Ornate Vintage Card by Julie Lavalette

Hi Everyone. Hope you are all having a lovely weekend, it's Julie here today. This week I decided to showcase the versatility of one of my latest favourite dies from our newly released Doily Collection called Alpine Flourish Doily.

This die comes as a set of 2. You have the option to have a solid centre or use the ornate centre in the middle of your doily. For my card this time, I opted to have the solid centre as I wanted to stamp and mount a verse to place on it using the card maker die, this also fits perfectly as a mount to the back of my Alpine Flourish.

You will notice the ornate sides on my card are die cut using the centrepiece from my doily. I then mounted onto my plain card stock to make my design pop forward.

My flower and leaves were shaded with distress inks and mounted onto the Italian Flourish Mini Doily. I die cut out 2 doilies and made a cut into the centre on both of them. Next folding back and forward in a concertina style, I glued them together at the edges to form the full circle again.

I added a little stickles and distress around the edge and pearls to finish.

Wish You Were Here by Julie Lavalette

3:30 AM 4 Comments

Hi Everyone, Julie here hosting the blog today.

Can you believe it's the weekend once again and only another week until the clocks change here in the UK and the dark winter nights are upon us.

I hope you are all loving the new release dies as much as I am. This card shows you what I have done with another couple of them. I stamped my postcard stamp, shaded it with Distress added some crackles and mounted onto the Alpine Flourish Doily die. I totally love all the detail on this die and shaded it also with distress. It gives a stunning Vintage look. The clever thing with this die is you have the option of having a solid centre to stamp on, add a sentiment to or place your centre coordinating die piece into it for a lace look.

My binoculars I die cut out in Grey and Black cardstock slightly off setting for a shadow effect. I then put some Glossy Accents onto the lens area and rubbed a little distress over to highlight.

A pretty Vintage style flower and some black gems were added to finish my Parisian themed card.
