Happy 4th of July and More PSA Essentials Info

It's the tail-end of our long holiday weekend here in the states. It's been a little too warm for me. Thank goodness for central air conditioning and a cooler evening today!

Here's a card I made for PSA Essentials. It uses patriotic colors, but it is a masculine card to welcome a baby boy. The stamps come from the Country Home and Carriage stamp sets.

This card was published on page 49 of the July 2011 issue of CardMaker Magazine. I just downloaded the online version of the magazine, since I hadn't seen the published card.

Baby Card

Hi there! Hope your weekend has been good. We had an awesome impromptu dinner at a friend's house last night: enchiladas (Michoacan style), carnitas, mashed Peruvian beans, Mexican rice, and a great pumpkin cake for dessert. {Burp!}

So on to the card. I made this simple card for a baby shower at school this week. The stamps used (Jessie's ABCs and Bannerific) are from Lawn Fawn. The stamps are awesome! I love how it's easy to line up the alphabet stamps. I also love that they included multiples of the same letter; very practical.

The patterned paper I used has texture. You can sort of see the glossy areas in this photo.

For the baby shower this week, I made a Raspberry Cheesecake that my friends love. I will provide the recipe tomorrow.

Card Ingredients
Stamps: Jessie's ABCs & Bannerific (Lawn Fawn)
Paper: White (Papertrey Ink), All About Boys patterned paper (DCWV)
Ink: Basic Black (Stampin' Up)
Tools: Corner Chomper (We R Memory Keepers)
Other: foam tape (3M), buttons (Stampin' UP), baker's twine (Etsy)

Decoracion - Gracias Por Venir a Conocerme

Hola! We're getting closer to the release date of the July collection of stamps from Dulces Ideas Clear Stamps. Tomorrow (July 1st) all 5 sets will go on sale!

Today, I'd like to show you a card made with the set called Decoracion. This 4x6 inch set add all the finishing touches for creating a perfect nursery. Paloma designed stamps for windows and curtains and masculine and feminine items you would find in any baby's room. Decoracion will sell for $10.99 plus shipping.

Using the window stamp, I added an actual window on my card. I added a square of acetate as the "glass". You can get a tiny glimpse inside this feminine nursery. You can't really see in the photo, but I used the flower stems to stamp grass on the green paper. The sentiments are from the Ya Nacio' stamp set.

When you look inside, I used stamps from Cuarto del Bebe and stamps from Decoracion to complete the nursery.

Check out what Paloma and the rest of the design team have created:

Welcome Little One - Team Patague

Yay! I'm happy it's finally Saturday. The week was a busy one.

I was the MC at our Latino Cultural Performances at school. We hired a mariachi band to play while we had moms, kids, our principal, and staff performing. It was fun! The dancers & mariachis truly did an awesome job.

Yesterday at school, we had a surprise baby shower for one of our dear friends and PTA leader. The Patague family doesn't know what they are expecting, so I kept the card gender-neutral. The onesie was inspired by Twilight t-shirts (Team Edward, Team Jacob). I printed the "Team Patague" from Microsoft Word on So Saffron cardstock and then stamped the onesie on top of the writing. I used a Copic marker to outline the seams of the onesie.

Well, I better run; I've got another party to attend. Thanks for stopping by!

Card Ingredients
Stamps: Bitty Baby Blessings (Papertrey Ink)
Paper: So Saffron & Certainly Celery (SU!), baby die cut (Chic Bebe, GCD Studios)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko)
Tools: Corner Chomper (We R Memory Keepers), Microsoft Word (font used: His Name is Honey)
Other: Certainly Celery ribbon (SU!), foam tape (3M), Copic marker

Adoption Wishes

I'm glad I made time to finish a card for Nichole's World Card Making Day challenge #3, which was to create a project inspired by India.

I decided to make an Adoption Wishes card. I love that PTI is so creative with the sentiments in their stamp sets. I don't know of anyone adopting a baby girl, but I thought my sari-inspired card would make a great baby girl card.

I love Indian food and I love the colors of traditional Indian clothing. In the last week, I was just talking about Indian clothing with fellow PTA moms Sonia and Rehka (Hi, girls!). Rehka and I volunteer and the school's library on Tuesday mornings. Sonia and I help in the Parent Volunteer Room.

Thanks for stopping by!

Card Ingredients
Stamps: Bitty Baby Blessings (PTI)
Paper: Melon Mambo, Pink Pirouette (SU!)
Ink: StazOn black, Memories black
Tools: sewing machine, Word Window punch (SU!)
Other: foam tape, chipboard (Targe $ Spot), jeweled trim (Michael's), Stardust Gelly Roll (Sakura)

Happy New Baby

Hello! I'm posting some cards I made two weeks ago for the silent auction at school.

I loved the design of this card on Ashley's blog earlier this year and I knew I had to make some. Ashley's work is flawless. I loved the simplicity of her design and effectiveness of using tiny images. For the second card, I didn't have the exact equivalent sentiment in Spanish, so I used the phrase "mis mejores deseos" (best wishes). The only difference from Ashley's design is I used some ribbon and staples.

Have a good creative day!

Card Ingredients

Paper: Baja Breeze (textured), Kraft, Certainly Celery, Very Vanilla (SU!)
Ink: Chocolate Chip
