I'm glad I am posting a week after getting home from Disneyland. It might have been a more negative post had I done it right when we returned. Abby really wasn't THAT bad. Mom and Dad kept telling me she really was good, she's just a 3 years old. In fact, Mom reminded me that the closest thing to a meltdown came from me. (It's true....bigger crowds than I expected and a dang line for EVERYTHING...day 2 was not good for me.) The boys were EXCEPTIONAL! No fighting, no complaining about lines, or walking. They were just enjoying every minute. Poor Abby was just too overwhelmed with the crowds and didn't want to ride in the stroller, she insisted on being held.
Love my boys!
Love my Momma!
Abby had a thing with her tongue...she stuck it out and to the side for nearly every picture.
Brrrrr....kind of a chilly trip.
The long awaited Cars ride!!! So dang cool!!! And we thought of Grandma every time we were in Cars Land.
Chillin on a bench
Waiting....yet again.
So precious
So glad my mom allows us to take pictures of her...a few years back, this would have been a no-go.
The ducks were great entertainment for lunch time.
Spencer loved feeding the ducks too.
Had to trick Abby and Spencer into going on the Haunted Mansion ride. We were tired of being split up and waiting outside with kids that didn't/couldn't ride. "Darn it kids...this is family time and we are doing this ride as a family...and you will like it!!" ok, Abby didn't like it, but she survived.
LOVE Chad's photobomb.
Spencer's only request for the trip was to be chosen for Jedi training. And he talked about it a LOT. Oh, he wanted it SO bad. We had the talk about not crying if he wasn't chosen, but I can guarantee there would have been a broken heart. His Storm Trooper jacket helped as well as the silent prayers from the adults....please, please, please choose Spencer. He was all grins the entire time and he loved fighting Darth Maul.
I will explain the pictures with Izzy. Abby found her the first day we were there and I am so glad we didn't make her wait until the end of the trip. Abby isn't a doll kind of kid, but she sure was this trip. She had to have Izzy with her, and took care of Izzy like a baby, and made sure we took care of Izzy like a baby too. It was cute. Of course Abby didn't want to ride in the stroller, but she strapped Izzy in. Mom was getting weird looks as we were walking. When we figured it out, we cracked up and had to take a picture of Grammy wheeling Izzy around.
BEST HUSBAND EVER!! After my almost meltdown, Chad made sure to bring in Pepsi's and Ice to medicate me. Disneyland only serves Coke (yucky). And I prefer mine iced. It worked like a charm!!!
Love Goofy's Kitchen! Notice Izzy is included in the family picture.
Abby wasn't interested in the characters and was downright scared of some of them...but she was THRILLED to see Pluto.
The boys loved Balou....He really was funny.
He pulled Spencer's head back and made a spitting noise. Yes, my 7 year old boy thought that was the most hilarious thing ever. It could have only been outdone by Dale ripping out a fart....but I'm sure Disney would frown on that.
No way was Spencer going to pose with--whatever princess she is....but Cam hopped right up.
(Chad knows the princesses better than I do)
The highlight of the trip for Grampy was positioning himself with the bubble-blowing Abby behind unsuspecting people. They would get drenched with bubbles and look behind to see Abby just grinning. It really was funny. I think Grammy peed a little-she was laughing so hard.
We think Cameron used Grammy's Eggs Benedict knife to cut his pizza....yup, poor little guy had quite the reaction. He was really feeling crappy until he puked his little guts out. Then we went on with our day. Thanks goodness we had one of Grandma's blue puke bags. 2 of the Disney workers were really concerned and made sure he was ok and offered to get help. Sure wish he would grow out of this allergy.
Pictures with the loot.
I will be sad when Spencer stops picking weapons for his toy of choice. He has stopped the "dress up", but still loves plastic molded into a gun or sword.
Cameron decided to buy pins with his money. Yah, 80 bucks for 9 pins. As long as he was happy.
Must test out Zurg's gun.
We know it's been a wonderful trip if Cameron cries when we leave....and he cried. Good Trip!
Cute, cute pictures!!! So glad it was a fun trip for everyone!!
ReplyDeleteI hear our Lynda saw you guys there, too. Funny that can happen in a big place with so many people.
ReplyDeleteyes, we ran into her a couple of times. Fun to see her kiddos.
DeleteWe were there the following week. I felt the same about the crowds, I wanted everyone else to just go home!!!! Glad to hear you survived!!!
