Sunbeams are the greatest

My Sunbeams filled up their reverent chart, so we had a swim party to celebrate. We invited the moms and siblings. We had lunch, swam, jumped on the tramp and just had a fun time. Don't I have the cutest little Sunbeams around.

Long Lake

So we made our now annual (5 out of the 6 summers living here) trip up to Long Lake to visit our friends the Schindlers at their cabin. The boys look forward to this every year. We always have fun boating, swimming and good food.

Declan hooked on to Jessie, one of Schindlers friends. He wanted to go anywhere she went.

The boys didn't want to get wet so Jan took them out on the jet ski.

Blueberry picking

The boys and I were invited up to our friends the Alexanders new property for blueberry picking. They just bought 130 acres at the beginning of the year and are just about ready to start building. The boys thought it was the greatest place, and were sure if the "Warriors Cats"(books) were real this is where they would live. The boys were great pickers and we ended up with a ton of berries. We have made blueberry muffins, blueberry cobbler, strawberry blueberry shortcake, and ice cream with blueberries. I froze a bunch so that we can enjoy them all winter long.

Do I belong at the park

So the other day a friend of mine invited me and the boys to the park with some other mothers. When we arrived at the park my boys headed straight for the basketball court across the lawn far from the play area. My friend and the other mothers were chasing their 2-3 year old's around. I just sat on the bench feeling very out of place. My boys don't need me to help them swing, climb across bars or to make sure they don't fall down. It is just a different feeling being in that next phase, so what did I do....grabbed my friends baby so they could chase their little ones and make it look like I belonged there at the park.

Rock Sculptures

While we were in San Diego a man on the beach was balancing rocks on top of each other. The boys decided to give it a try when we got home, here are the results...

Diving lessons

The past two weeks Duncan and Dawson have been taking diving lessons, and Declan has had swimming lessons. They were signed up for Lacrosse this summer, but because of our impromptu trip across country(I will blog about the trip as soon as I transfer the pictures from Craig's computer.) they had to change to what camps had openings. They were not sure about diving lessons, but have had a great time except for Dawson's belly flop off the high dive while he was doing a front flip.

4th of July

Craig loves the 4th of July, I think even better than Christmas(Okay it's a close tie.) Our neighborhood does a parade each year, and every year Craig makes a float, yes a real live float. All the other neighbors just decorate bikes, but the Homers make a float. Craig and the boys always ask if I would like to be on it, but someone in the neighborhood has to sit and cheer. The fire department leads the parade with a fire engine and Craig closes the parade with his float. We then meet at the end of a cul-de-sac and have hot dogs, tours of the fire engine, snow cones, bouncy bounces, and just fun with the neighbors. It's not the Provo parade with great seats in front of Uncle Bills shop, but it is a great tradition.

Craig even helped some neighbor kids decorate their scooters for the parade. What a nice guy.

Declan on the bouncy bounce and party fun.
