I seldom get the chance to talk to my friends and keep them up-to-date with what's going on with my life...
well, this is it. My online journal. Yah, another personal blog, just exactly what the world needs now. Let's be realistic, it's cheaper than overseas calls. Less tiring than novel-like emails.
About Me

The long wait is finally over. The results of the June 2007 Phil Nursing Licensure Exam has been released, and I am sooo proud to say that my honey passed his board exam. :)
My friends took me to Worms today for the Bachfischfest (Baked Fish Festival). I got to meet Jannet's cousins - Ate Weng and Kuya Beng, and also their mom. :) Ate Weng has been living in Germany for more than 12 yrs, while Kuya Beng and their mom are staying for 3mos to visit Ate Weng.
In line with the festival, there was a parade of wine queens and marching bands. After watching the parade, we all went to the carnival. We wanted to try some of the rides, but it was too hot... I was sooo close to opening my umbrella, as I could feel my skin already getting burned. But of course, I didn't bring out my umbrella...otherwise I would look like a really odd girl, since the rest of people are enjoying the sun. We did get a chance to try the kart race. :) Allan completed the race first, then me, Kuya Beng and Jannet. It was fun... quick adrenalin rush. :)
Every weekend I get the luxury of being with Jannet, Alyssa and Allan. Their company is one of the things that make me feel excited about being in Germany. The warmth and hospitality of their family, makes me feel at home... ;)
They picked me up today from the apartment at Feuerbachstrasse around 1pm. The weather was really nice - warm and sunny. A perfect day for a stroll. We went to the Main River Fair to watch the regatta and check out the stalls lined up on the riverside. Jannet and I share several common interests -- and shopping is definitely on our list. :) There were various things sold on the bazaar, and we were so preoccupied with checking out each booth that we barely noticed that we have already walked for 4hrs straight. Souvenirs and food stalls with different types of food were sold (Spanish, Turkish, Chinese, Japanese, etc..). We tried to look for a booth with Filipino food, but failed to find any. :( While Jannet, Allan and I were busy checking out the stuff sold at the fair, the little angel with us looked a bit bored... A lot of people in the fair would smile whenever they would see Alyssa. How could one not smile back at a baby as cute as her? :)
Do you know?... I am now in love with Enrique Iglesia's new song. I often see it in VIVA (the only channel I watch in Germany aside from CNN and BBC, as all other channels are in german or dubbed in german. And everytime this music video is played, I'd just stop whatever I am doing and sing with the song. *Sigh*...
Do you know what it feels like loving someone that's in a rush to throw you away? Do you know, do you know, do you know, do ya? Do you know what it feels like to be the last one to know the lock on the door has changed?
If birds flying south is a sign of changes At least you can predict this every year Love, you never know the minute it ends suddenly I can't get it to speak Maybe if I knew all the things it took to save us I could fix the pain that bleeds inside of me Look in your eyes to see something about me I'm standing on the edge and I don't know what else to give.
Do you know what it feels like loving someone that's in a rush to throw you away? Do you know, do you know, do you know, do ya? Do you know what it feels like to be the last one to know the lock on the door has changed?
How can I love you? How can I love you? How can I love you? How can I love you? If you just don't talk to me, babe.
I flow through my act There's a question: Is she needed? And decide all the man I can ever be. Looking at the last 3 years like I did I could never see us ending like this.
Seeing your face no more on my pillow Is a scene that's never ever happened to me.
But after this episode I don't see You could never tell the next thing life could be
Do you know what it feels like loving someone that's in a rush to throw you away? Do you know, do you know, do you know, do ya? Do you know what it feels like to be the last one to know the lock on the door has changed?

Several hours after I arrived in Frankfurt, my friend Jannet (together with Allan and Alyssa) picked me up from the apartment. We went to the US Base in Hanau, and did some shopping in the commisary. :) Ain't she an angel? Alyssa loves showing her teeth. :) And everytime I'd take her picture she's always open her mouth to proudly show her little teeth.
After having ice cream at baskin robbins, we headed back to Frankfurt, and walked around to check the places around the area I am staying. We got to Hauptbahnhof, famous for it's red lights and interesting toys (for the big boys and girls).
Notice the shops behind me or in the other pictures above? :) Cool, huh?! Maybe next time I can buy some souvenir from those shops. :)
Preparing for trips outside the country is always a challenge. Reviewing what I have in my luggage over and over again, hoping that I did not forget anything.Plus, there is always this voice in your head (actually, it's my mom, dad and tita's voice) constantly reminding you to eat on time, sleep well, take care of your things, etc. And again, even if it's just a 3-week stint in Germany, my parents and Jp make me feel that I'd be gone for years. (It's quite hard to get used to the feeling of being away from the people you love -- but I guess I'd have to be prepared for that sooner or later.)
After 16hrs, I have finally arrived in Frankfurt. Compared to my last trip, I am now staying in an apartment - makes me wish I know how to cook real food, not that the eggs and bacon I have aren't real, but it would have been better if I can do something fancy. The apartment is really nice, looks a bit like the apartment I had before in Shanghai, though this one is smaller compared to the one in China (because I had a living room, and 2 TVs then), but I don't really need such a big room since I am on my own. Curious about how it looks? It's a good thing they have provided me with a companion. Meet my new friend - Rubber ducky. I still have to think of a name for him.
Classes have again been suspended today because of Typhoon Egay. I struggled my way to the office this morning, and ended up having my socks and slacks wet. Grrrr... I just hate it when that happens. Good thing I have slippers in the office.
Several areas in the metro became flooded, thanks to Egay. PAGASA later announced that rains will continue to pour in the afternoon, which prompted government offices to suspend work. Anna, An and I reminisced about a similar scenario last year (Typhoon Milenyo) wherein schools and (government and private) offices already declared the suspension of classes and work, and yet we were still in the office. :) Those were the days... :)
Luckily, when I left the office today most people have already gone home... wohooo.. Got to sit in the MRT, plus no more traffic in Quezon Ave. :) From what I have heard, classes tomorrow have already been suspended as PAGASA expects Typhoon Egay to intensify further. Really? I bet it'll be sunny tomorrow. Hehehe.
I often get the feeling that surfing the net can be boring at times. I always run out of interesting things to check. I mean, I have a few sites that I would check regularly, or those that have been part of my surfing ritual. But tonight, after checking friendster, reading my friends' blogs, uploading pics in Multiply (while checking my mail and listening to my iPod)... I suddenly lost interest to check anything else. Until I remembered "HappySlip". I have watched a couple of her clips, but never got the chance to see the rest of her creative video blogs.
Here are some of the clips I liked:
Mac Beautiful
Brown Beauty
She's really funny, creative and talented. ;)
On a side note: When I was still in High School, my mom would always buy me those half slip's which I should always wear under my school uniform. I guess it's really very typical for mom's to remind their daughters to wear the "happyslip". hehe...
Youchoob
She is really getting famous. See the 37 sec. mark in the iPone review and her 1st ever interview. :)
I saw this from a friend's bulletin post. And since I drank a whole liter of iced tea, I can't get myself to sleep. Oh well. Let's try this out.

Team Building on a Sunday?! Sounds odd? Not for our team. Anna said she seldom gets the chance to be with the team on weekends... and we were all saying -- HALLER?! Weren't you with us during R2 or the Siebel Releases? hahahaha... We have finally convinced each other to scare each other and watch "Ouija". It was supposed to be just Anna, Grace and myself, as An and Rommel are celebrating their 5th Monthsary today. While we were on our way to the MRT, we heard Rommel calling, they have decided to join us instead. :)
We had lunch at the La Mesa Grill. Sisig, Sugpo sa Gata, Sinigang na baka, Adobong kangkong... mmmm.. yummy. :)
After lunch, we accompanied Grace and An buy their books. :) We then had a mall tour - from Trinoma, we transferred to the 'The Block', and then SM Main. :) Anna is looking for a laptop bag (backpack). It's quite hard for her to commute from Malabon to Boni each day with a laptop given her petite figure. So we all encouraged her to get a nice and cute laptop bag that would fit her frame, instead of dragging the default shoulder bag that goes with the laptop. :)
We all headed back to Trinoma around 4:00pm. Our feet were already feeling a bit sore from walking for several hours. Unfortunately, we had to wait a couple of hours more as the movie will be at 5:45pm. So while waiting, we grabed some twister fries, softdrinks and burgers from Mcdonalds. The storyline of "Ouija" was inspired by a real-life documentary about a British Family who used Ouija board the wrong way. The movie was shot in Camuiguin, where the famous floating cemetery is located. Some of the advertisements/posters for the movie said "We dare you not to scream". Anna and I were saying that maybe we can contain our fear and maybe, just maybe... be quiet for the entire duration of the movie. (I know Yas would not believe me if I told her that I was able to watch the movie without covering or closing my eyes... Yas, remember Feng Shui? hehehe) Not only were we (take note: WE.. Anna, An and myself) covering our eyes, or just peeping in between our fingers, we screamed at some of the scary parts in the movie. All in all, the movie is just like a typical Japanese/Korean horror movie with the ghosts/spirits crawling or appearing in a lot of scenes. It's not really a spectacular movie with great effects, nor was it a unique horror story, but we did enjoy watching it. Laughing at each other after the movie and trying to scare Anna made it all worthwhile. :)
I left work today around 8pm and met Jp at the Cybergate 2 lobby. Today's is his bestfriend's birthday, and there's a party!!!
Jhim has been Jp's friend since Grade School (I guess they have the same bond that Nina and I have), and he recently passed the board exams, and we can now officially affix the title "Atty." before his name.
When we got to Jhim's place, I was surprised to see a lot of people. Well, I thought it will only be us, +Manny, Kid, Glad, Percy and maybe his girlfriend who'd be in the inuman session. I later found out that it was also Mona's birthday (Jhim's younger sister).
People won't have a hard time telling if there's a party, esp with the gates wide open, tables & chairs in the garage and the karaoke system playing out loud. There were a lot of women/girls singing already, and Jp was teasing me that I might have to later fight for the microphone. Hehe. Most of the girls in the party are Mona's friends and colleagues, and one of them was teased to Jp before when they were still in High School. Well, I already knew about the whole story behind that Batangas Outing with Jp trying to be super-friendly-as-if-red-cross-member and helping one of the girls who got injuired. Hmmm... Well, I just joined the gang in teasing him with the girl (surprised?!?)... I know you're expecting that I'd get jealous or might suddenly just become quiet and later confront Jp about it... but I didn't. Why? He said it was nothing and I believe him plus the girl is already married and pregnant. (Hehehe...So I can't fully claim that I got rid of my green eye attitude 100% due to the second reason) ;)
Anyway, going back to my story - We had dinner inside their house, and later invaded the area where the karaoke system has been set-up. When we joined the table with the other guests, the singing stopped. It was like everyone lost their voice and became timid for a moment. No one from our end - Jhim, Glad (Jhim's girlfriend), Manny, Kid, Jp nor myself wanted to hold on to the mic. That gave them the cue that it's time to bring out the drinks - San Mig Lights and Gin-Pomelo Juice. Gladys and I had the GinPom, and as expected after a glass of it, my face was already red.
The fun thing about drinking GinPom is that, it just tastes like juice. The Pomelo juice hides the taste of the gin mixed to it (though there is still some mild after taste). One would just keep on drinking and drinking, and drinking..., only to later realize they have exceed their alcohol threshold. ;)
Gladys and I were already reviewing the list of songs, and I was telling her that she should sing first, and maybe dedicate something for Jhim. She selected the song, and we then all sang it - it was the Happy Birthday Song. Hehe. After that, she initiated the karaoke session. Gladys, Jhim, Manny and myself took turns in singing, and I think the other girls only got to sing 4 or 5 songs in between the 3hrs we had the microphone. Kid, as always, just endured our screeching voices (or maybe he just had some earplugs on). We also got Jp to sing a few songs, and even sang "Ice ice baby". He made me miss Amana when he sang that. She's the only person I know who could rap the entire song, while dancing to it.
After my third glass of GinPom, I was asked to stop (and then I sang, Stop by the Spice Girls) My face, arms and neck were already red and a bit itchy at that point. The singing still continued while the rest of gang finished up their beers and the ginpom. :)
The ever famous opening lines of Mr. Raymund Dela Fuente. It's been a while since we had the thursday one-rounders. Well, it was supposed to be one round of San Mig's in Guilligans or Pier One... which later got reduced to fruit juices or iced tea, until it all stopped eventually. And now, we are planning to revive it. Sent out meeting invites (Yes, meeting invites for a one-rounder!), but the gimik didn't push through, as Raymund had to attend a Peer Review meeting at 9pm and Giff also had something he had to finish last week. Oh well... I guess it was a blessing-in-disguise (blessing?!?) that it didn't push thru as I don't think I would have been able to join since we had a Prod Issue/Escalation last Thursday. :(
And today, Raymund reminded me again to organize something for next thursday with the gang. Hmm... Maybe after Mike comes back from his 2-week vacation. :)
