Johnny Depp Goes Bald for "Black Mass"

Johnny Depp's latest film, "Black Mass," hits theaters September 18th - and this time, he does the full monty on his hairline, as James "Whitey" Bulger.

While Depp's deeply receded hairline is due to Hollywood hair and makeup artists, it raises the question, how's his real-life hair holding up? The 52-year old actor has managed to keep a rather good hairline in spite of his age, but recent photos have shown signs of recession, as I noted last summer.

Take a look at the recent photos below, which show deep recession in the temporal regions:

Compared with other men his age, Depp's hair is in good shape, but he needs to be careful: his hair loss is likely to accelerate now that he's in his 50s, so hopefully he will consult with a qualified hair restoration specialist to get started on a preventive regimen.

Recession Alert - Johnny Depp

Johnny Depp may have gone bald for his latest Hollywood role - playing James "Whitey" Bulger in the upcoming Black Mass film (see him in character here) - but in real life, Depp may be having some follicle troubles of his own.

Recent photos of the actor at the Transcendence premiere in LA show deep recession in the temporal regions and a thinning frontal hair line. Granted, Depp has been seen with temporal recession for years, and at 51, this type of hair loss is relatively moderate. However, as a Norwood Class 3, Depp needs to be careful - he's at the age where hair loss can rapidly accelerate.

In order to keep his hair in Hollywood shape, Depp would be well-advised to start looking into treatment options, such as finasteride, minoxidil, PRP, low level laser therapy.
