SFYTT - Take Two!

Hey all!  I'm back with my second post of the day, and what will also be my final Sketch For You To Try post since Jen has decided to step away.

I've used a Circus Trinket from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps that will be released tonight!  I kept it pretty simple since the background paper is quite busy - adding some solid panels and a ticket strip for the middle layer.  I layered my trinket on top of a ticket I die cut from patterned paper.  I sponged the edges of all my layers with Vintage Photo ink.  The papers are all from the Echo Park Take Note 6x6 pad.

KKS Peeks - Circus Trinkets

We are kicking off the *New* DECEMBER Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps previews today and first off, we’d like to introduce you to a beautiful new set of Trinkets! We are very excited to share with you our GORGEOUS….CIRCUS TRINKETS!

These circular sentiment stamps have been created and designed by the totally talented Krafty Girl, Nicole Aspinall! They are made especially to fit in your 1 3/8ths and 1 ¾ inch punches, for quick and easy cutting! This month we are releasing the CIRCUS Trinkets set which includes EIGHT trinkets in each set with four of each size and they come as both positive and negative images, so you can use your black or brown ink with the positive stamps and use your coloured inks with the negative ones!! You will get the set as a completely unmounted full sheet of deeply etched grey rubber.

Today we have awesome samples that the Krafty Girls have put together for you....and be sure to comment on each and every stop because one lucky stamper is going to WIN the new CIRCUS TRINKETS set! {And just WAIT 'til you see how they combine with our other NEW December stamps!}

I fell in love with the font on this "Life Is A Circus" trinket and stamped it in black ink, and coloured the letters in with a copic marker.  I paired it with December's Sketch For You To Try and some Echo Park papers.  I also added a swirl, stitching, brads, and ribbon for embellishment.  I think this would make a great encouragement card!

SFYTT Finale!

How cool is it that this month's Sketch For You To Try actually falls on the first of the month!  But today's post is also bittersweet because Jen has decided to take a break from sketches.  You can read all about it over on her blog.  I have absolutely LOVED being a sketch sister and am so grateful to have had this opportunity!

I've paired this month's sketch with our weekly Kraftin' Kimmie challenge to make a cold/snow themed card.  I've used the Lexi's Winter Fun set and paired it with a Winter Trinket.  The papers are all from a Bella Carte pad called (appropriately enough) Winter.  You can hop over to the Kraftin' Kimmie blog to see cards from all the Krafty Girls and Guests as well as all the challenge details.

Here's this month's sketch.  You can see that I mirror-imaged the sketch for my card and added a circle sentiment as well (I'm a rebel like that!).

You'll definitely want to hop over and see what the rest of my sketch sisters have cooked up for you - they're amazing!

Kraftin' Kimmie Meets SFYTT!

Welcome to another challenge at Kraftin' Kimmie stamps!  Today I'm your hostess and my challenge to you is to use a food and/or drink themed image on your card.  I've also paired up this challenge with my second Sketch For You To Try card for November.

I used Grace for my image and flipped the sketch so that Grace wasn't looking off the card.  I used some Echo Park This & That Christmas papers and added some crochet ribbon as well.  Make sure you hop over to the Kraftin' Kimmie blog to see samples from the Krafty Girls and Guests as well as link up your entry!

And don't forget to check out my sketch sisters to see the fabulous creations they've come up with.  And you can visit Jen's blog to link up your card for your chance to win big at the end of the year!

November Sketch For You To Try!

Welcome back to November's Sketch For You To Try!  We have a super fun sketch this month that made me think on it for a bit before I sat down to stamp!  Love that!

This month we're sponsored by the Sweet Stamp Shop.  They have some super cute stamps so make sure you check them out!

I've used one of the Holiday Trinket stamps from Kraftin' Kimmie stamps and some new Christmas papers from Echo Park (Very Merry, I think?!).  I added some stitching, brads and ribbons for embellishment but kept the rest pretty simple -  when I'm making Christmas cards I always like to think about mailability (is that a word?).

Here's the fabulous sketch! I hope you'll play along with us at some point this month!

October Sketch for You to Try - Take 2!

I'm back again today with my second Sketch For You To Try card for October. You might remember that we're sponsored this month by Market Street Stamps and I'm using the Gone Campin set again.

I just love these smiley marshmallows - how cute are they?  My son loves roasting marshmallow so that may have influenced my choosing this set.  I stamped the image and sentiment in Memento Rich Cocoa ink for something a little different.  I only used an R20 copic marker for their cheeks and a W1 and W00 to do a bit of shading.  I coated the branch with my Sakura Clear Glaze pen to give it some texture.  I decided to straighten out those diagonal tabs on the sketch (hey - I kept them as they were last time!) and added some twine and a button for embellishment.  The papers are from an older Jillybean Soup line.

Don't forget to hop over and see what my sketch sisters have cooked up for you as well. And you can visit Jen's blog to link up your card for your chance to win big at the end of the year!

October Sketch For You To Try!

Well hello!!  I know - it's been a while since I've blogged, actually it's been a while since I've stamped! Life is busy and getting the better of me right now, but I hope to have some more time in the next couple of weeks!  Today is actually my son's tenth birthday and we're prepping to have some boys over for a sleepover.  Which begs the question: What the heck have I gotten myself into?  and secondly, how is it possible that my baby is 10?!!

Anyway, onto to the actual stamping stuff.  This month we have a super fun sketch with lots of layers!  We're sponsored this month by Market Street Stamps - and this was actually my first time working with their images!  I love their whimsical style and of course they stamp like a dream.  I fell in love with the Gone Campin' set.  I mean, hello?  marshmallows with faces?  Yes please!

I kept it pretty simple by not matting any of my layers and combined the mosquito image with this fabulous sentiment for my image panel.  I embossed the background panel with the Stampin Up Woodgrain embossing folder and used some of their tulle ribbon for the little tab parts of the sketch - I was hoping it would look like mosquito netting!

Here's the fabulous sketch!  I hope you'll play along with us at some point this month!

Kraftin' Kimmie Peeks Day 2!

Welcome back to our SEPTEMBER Krafty Peeks! Today we are excited to share the THREE new images and SIX matching sentiments included in our new Lulu set by artist Cheryl Alger. This ADORABLE new set is called HOLIDAY LULU AND LIBBY and the whole set is too freakin' CA-UTE!

All the Krafty Girls and Krafty Guests listed below have lots of super designs to show you, so be sure to hop over to each of them. And while you're there, be sure to leave a comment because one lucky stamper is going to WIN the new HOLIDAY LULU AND LIBBY set!

Then come on back tomorrow to check out MORE new stamps we have to show you as the Happy Holidays theme continues, this time by artist Emilie Goulet. And ALL the new stamps will be available on Sunday at the KKStamps Shop!

I've used this super cute Lulu image for my card.  I love that although this image is part of a Holiday set, it's not limited to holiday cards.  Wouldn't this be sweet as an everyday card with the sentiment "you're a superstar".  Genius, right?!

Anyway, I paired my Lulu with some non-traditional colours from one of last year's Echo Park collections.  I must admit that I love the red, aqua, and gold together!  I made her star all sparkly with my Sakura Stardust Pen and used gold stickles on my star embellishment.  I've used September's Sketch For You To Try as my layout again, since KKS is this month's sponsor.

Sketchy Piecing Challenge!

Hey all!  I'm back today with a card that fulfills not one but two challenges.  This week's challenge over on the Krafty Blog is to use paper piecing.  And as usual, I usually post my second Sketch For You To Try card which is super convenient since Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps is our sponsor for September!  A match made in heaven!

I stayed true to the sketch this time and paired sweet Lola Lollipop up with some papers from MME.  I added some stitching and some trim as well as a crocheted and resin flower.

Don't forget to hop over and see what my sketch sisters have cooked up for you as well.  And you can visit Jen's blog to link up your card for your chance to win big at the end of the year!

A Krafty Sketch For You To Try

Happy long weekend friends!  In addition to the holiday weekend, it's also the first Saturday of the month which means it's time for a new Sketch For You To Try!  This month we're sponsored by a company near and dear to my heart - Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps!  In fact, I've combined this week's Krafty challenge with the sketch to make this a two-fer!

This week's Krafty challenge is to use Kraft cardstock - easy peasy!  I coloured up this fortune teller image from the brand new Krafty Klubhouse Kit Three Wishes.  I matched her up with some MME papers (Miss Caroline Fiddlesticks) and cheated a bit by adding a sentiment panel to my card.  I used some gold ribbon for the vertical element in the sketch since I had coloured the fringe on her tablecloth gold as well.

I hope you'll come and play along with us this week over on the Krafty blog.  And you have all month to play along with Sketch For You To Try and link up over on Jen's blog.

You'll definitely want to hop over and see what the rest of my sketch sisters have cooked up for you - they're amazing!

August Sketch For You To Try - with Verve!

It's the first Saturday in August and that means it's time for a new Sketch For You to Try!  Jen has another fabulous sketch for us and this month we're sponsored by Verve Stamps!  I'm a big Verve fan!  Love their Plain Janes and all their fabulous sentiment stamps.  I chose to use the Words of Wisdom set for my card and paired it up with some MME Lost & Found papers.  I sponged each layer, stitched almost every layer and made my own flower out of burlap.  This isn't my usual style, but I'm happy with how it turned out!  I also combined a whole bunch of Dare to Get Dirty challenges for this card - fun stuff!

Here's this month's sketch.  I hope you'll play along with us!

You'll definitely want to hop over and see what the rest of my sketch sisters have cooked up for you - they're amazing!

I'm back again today with my second Sketch For You To Try card for July.  You might remember that we're sponsored this month by My Favorite Things Stamps - who are one of my favorite companies!  I pulled out this new to me a la mode stamp - It's Getting Deep.  I also used the Fishtail Flags Stax and one part of the Chevron Stripes die.  The papers are Echo Park Take Note that I paired with some Hot Fudge cardstock.

July Sketch For You To Try a la MFT

Happy first Saturday of the month to you!  And of course that means it's also time for July's Sketch For You To Try.  This month we are sponsored by one of my very favorite companies - MFT Stamps (My Favorite Things).  MFT was my first stamping love as well as my first major design team so they'll always have a big spot in my heart.

I must admit that this month's sketch gave me pause.  Not too much, but a little.  I decided to go with a sentiment stamps rather than an image - this is from the new Complimentary Greetings set and I used a whole schwack of Die-namics dies.  Behind the sentiment circle I used the smallest circle from the Open Scallop Doily Duo.  For my horizontal panel I used the Fishtail Flag Stax and for the vertical panel I used some creative license and substituted the Large Leafy Flourish.  I added some Mini Rolled Roses for embellishment as well as some stitching and sewing.  The papers are all from Echo Park This & That 6x6 pad and the cardstock is MFT Hot Fudge.

Here's this month's sketch!

This week Jenny is our fabulous hostess and our challenge is "Under The Sea".  You can see all the fabulous cards cooked up by the Krafty Girls and Guests over on the Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge Blog.  We've all used images from the brand new Sea Jewels Krafty Klubhouse set just released yesterday, but you can interpret the challenge however you see fit!

I've also used this month's Sketch For You To Try for my layout.  The stars fit perfectly into my card, but of course you can switch them out for flowers, or buttons, or whatever fits your design.

June Sketch For You To Try

Welcome to a new month and a new sketch over at Sketch For You To Try!  This month's sketch is pretty simple - but fabulous as usual and we're sponsored by Lil' Inker Designs.  Big THANKS to them!  They not only have super cute stamps but amazing dies as well!

For my card today, I used a Lili of the Valley stamp and paired it with a sentiment from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Everyday Trinkets set.  I paired it up with some Doodlebug Sugar & Spice papers and added some twill ribbon and a die cut daisy for embellishment.  I also gave her jumper some white brads for buttons to add a bit of dimension.

Here's this month's sketch!  All of the details and the widget for linking up can be found over on Jen's blog.

You'll also want to head over and see what the rest of my sketch sisters have cooked up for you!  They're incredible talented and I'm so blessed to see my name alongside of theirs!
