MFT Teasers - Pure Innocence

I must admit that Monday is one of my very favorite teaser days because it usually means new Pure Innocence stamps. This month's PI's are so cute and I love all three of them.
I chose to work with A Cart Full of Friends for my card. This set comes with some cute friends to go in the wagon, but I still had these Doodlebug heart sequins out on my desk and thought they'd be perfect in the wagon considering the sentiment I chose to use. I popped the wagon up for some dimension and used brads for the wheels. I also used twine for the wagon string and popped up her hand and sleeve for more dimension. I was in the mood for a clean and simple card so kept this one pretty plain.
I can't wait for you to see the other stamps so make sure you check Kim's blog after 11am EST for a list of all the designers showing teasers today.

Also, there's still time to play in the Guest Designer contest and have a chance to win $125 of free stamps and play along with the design team next month. And trust me - the MFT design team is the best! I've been so honoured to play along with them as a guest.
See you back here tomorrow friends! Have a great Monday!

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Memento Cantaloupe, copics

MFT Teasers - Emma Blowing Kisses

Welcome to Day 2 of the MFT Teasers for the June release. All of the new sets will be available for purchase on Wed. June 2nd at 10pm EST.

Today I have a card for you with Emma Blowing Kisses. I am still on my Doodlebug kick so you get to see more of their patterned paper and embellishments. For my card I decided to use Joanne's sketch plus 3 challenge (she's celebrating a half million hits!). So I used the sketch, plus stitching, paper piecing and bling. I tried to fit some gingham in there too but I just wasn't feeling it. I also used MFT's Jumbo Scallop Die-namics for the scalloped edge portion of her sketch. In case you didn't know, Emma is named and modeled after Kim's (the MFT Lady) daughter Emma and is illustrated by the same person who draws the Pure Innocence line.

Kim will have a list of designers sharing teasers today on her blog after 11:00am EST so make sure you check them out (there's the cutest Fred Bear as well).

Have a great rest of the weekend, and to all my US friends, Happy Memorial Day weekend to you!

Supplies:
Stamps: MFT Emma Blowing Kisses
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, copics
Paper: MFT Perfect Panel, Doodlebug pp, Bazzill cs

MFT Teasers - Baby Makes Three

Welcome to Day 1 of this month's MFT Teasers. I've used Baby Makes Three, illustrated by Amanda Baird for my card today.

I chose some Doodlebug baby paper to pair my image with and added a jellishment and a matching button. The layout is from this week's Mojo Monday sketch. Not sure if you can tell from this picture, but I coated the egg with Stardust Stickles so it's all sparkly.
There's two other sets being used as well today so make sure you check Kim's blog after 11:00am EST for a list of all the designers posting teasers today. Also, make sure you mark your calendar for Wed. June 2nd from 8-10pm EST. That's release party time and your chance to win some fabulous prizes and hang out and chat before the sets go live!
Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by!

Die-namics Teaser!

Welcome to MFT's June Die-namics teasers!! I am super excited about this month's release and can't wait to get my hands on the new dies!

For today's project, I used 2 of last month's Die-namics - the cloud die and the jumbo scallop die. I'd had this idea rolling around in my head for a while and wanted to try it out - that is covering a shape with rows and rows of scallops. I decided to cover the top of the Sheltering Tree with Cosmo Cricket Garden Variety paper cut into scallop strips. I sponged each strip with some green ink and pulled them forward for some dimension. I cut some clouds and sponged them with blue ink and used a grass punch to punch two different patterned papers for grass. Guess what kind of die is coming out this month? Yup - grass!! So excited to be able to cut different materials with it!
Here's a close up of my tree top.
Here's a picture of how I created the tree top. I cut a whole whack (a very technical term!) of scallop strips and adhered them to a matching piece of cardstock in an alternating pattern. I made sure I only put adhesive on the very top of the strip so that I'd be able to bend the scallops forward. Then I placed a circle nestie over top and ran it through my Cuttlebug. Voila!
Are you ready for a look at what's being released this month? Here you go....

Fresh Cut Grass measures 6" long and ¾" high at the tallest grass blade.

Jumbo Ric Rac is 6" long and 1 ½" wide and is the first 1 ½" ric rac die on the market.

Our revolutionary Ribbon RE:Creations Grosgrain Texture Board is designed to exactly mimic grosgrain ribbon. When used after cutting a Jumbo Ric Rac Shape, your paper project will look as if you’ve adorned it with expensive jumbo ric rac! The effect is subtle, but feels and looks just like fabric ribbon!
Sunshine is a two piece die, with an outer sunray die (2") and an inner circle (.875") for layering if desired.
How cool are those?? Don't forget to check Kim's blog after 11:00am EST for a list of all the designers previewing new dies today! Thanks so much for stopping by! Check back tomorrow for another teaser!

Supplies:
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa, Memento Bamboo Leaves, SU Bashful Blue, copics
Paper: MFT Perfect Panel, Old Olive cs, Chocolate Chip cs, Handsome Hunter cs, SU Sweet Pea dsp, Cosmo Cricket Garden Variety, Cosmo Cricket Material Girl
Accessories: MFT Die-namics Cloud Die, MFT Die-namics Jumbo Scallop die, Circle Nestabilities, Grass punch, twill, ribbon, brads, sewing machine, foam boosters

More Twisted!

Here's another sample card I made to demo how to make flower embellishments. This time I used 5/8" grosgrain ribbon for the flower and added a decorative brad in the middle. Originally the flower was not supposed to be placed so high on the card, but after I got an ink smear on the panel, I placed it there to cover the mark. Not ideal, but still works!
I'm making this one short and sweet as I'm on preschool duty this morning. It's also supposed to be a scorcher here today - 31 degrees Celsius - woo hoo! Have a great day friends!

Bright Better Get Better!

Wow - have you got your sunglasses on? This card turned out a little bright, but oh so cheery, especially for a get well card. I finally had a chance to use Mercy's Tuesday sketch and inked up this little Better Get Better Pure Innocence stamp. The paper is all from Doodlebug (one of my fave paper lines) and the cardstock is the matching line from Bazzill.
I'm keeping this short and sweet because today is a holiday here in Canada - the last day of our long weekend. I'm off to spend some time with my family! Have a great day friends!

New Blog Candy Winner!

Unfortunately I never heard from my first blog candy winner after giving her a week to contact me, so I've had to re-draw. I want this fabulous prize to go to someone!

Congrats Cole! Shoot me an email - you can find my address under my profile. Again, you have one week to contact me.

Twisted Medallion

Are you sick of seeing my Stampin Up cards yet? I'll have some more variety for you soon, but I wanted to show you all my samples before posting the instructions. This one is called a twisted ribbon flower and I've used it as the middle of this Medallion background stamp.

Again, a super simple card. The fun thing about this twisted flower is you can use any kind of material instead of ribbon for a totally different look.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend. It's our long weekend here in Canada and I'm busy re-organizing my stamp area as well as stamping. I'm still looking for poppyscraps to contact me. If I don't hear from her, I'll re-draw for my blog candy package tomorrow morning. Have a good one!

Supplies:
Stamps: SU Medallion, Upsy Daisy (sentiment)
Ink: Melon Mambo, Black
Paper: Whisper white, black, melon mambo
Accessories: Ribbon, circle punch, sticky sheet

Ribbon Rose Trio

Here's another one of the samples I made for my flower embellishments technique demo last weekend. I used three different types of ribbon to show the differences they give you in the end product. Again, a simple card because I really wanted to keep the emphasis on the flowers themselves. I'll post the instructions for these sometime next week.

I'm still looking for poppyscraps to contact me as she was the winner of my blog candy draw and I have no way of getting hold of her. If she isn't in touch with me then I will re-draw on Sunday morning!
Have a great Thursday friends!

Supplies:
Stamps: SU Watercolor Trio
Ink: Soft Suede
Paper: Pretty in Pink, white, Thoroughly Modern dsp
Accessories: Ribbon, scallop edge punch, Little Leaves Sizzlit, glue dots

MFT VIP Hop

Welcome to the MFT VIP Hop for the June release. This is your chance to see one of the sets being released in June and get it for yourself two weeks early. If you've stumbled onto this post and want to start at the beginning, you'll want to visit Kim's blog.
Oh how I love this new set! It comes with 2 different Who's That Girl images and tons of great sentiments. I had to use this particular image because it's so me! I looked exactly like that yesterday(whoops, maybe I should draw in a 4 year old hanging off my leg and crying for me to buy her Princess lip gloss!).

I paper pieced her shirt and basket and coloured the rest with my copics. I added some gel pen and clear glaze pen accents to the apples to make them shiny. I paired it with some Cosmo Cricket Garden Variety paper - which just seemed natural. I also sewed a couple of the panels and broke into my baby braddie stash for accents.

Here are the details for the VIP package. It's available for ONE day only - or until supplies run out.

WTG Goes Green VIP $35.85

Who’s That Girl Goes Green
What a Day (FREE, $9 value)
Twill Ribbon Collection

Die-namics Edge Die (Be one of the FIRST to get a NEW Die-namics die, which will be officially released on June 2nd)

MFT is also releasing a brand new set today! This one makes me smile! It's called Costumes from Wonderland and retails for $15.95. There's three different characters in this set and some perfect sentiments.

My card uses Alice (obviously) and for the layout I went with Jen's sketch for you to try layout from this week.

Your next step on the hop is Amy! I know she'll have something absolutely fabulous for you! Thanks for stopping by!

Blast from the Past Blog Hop

Welcome to the first ever Taylored Expressions Blast from the Past blog hop. If you're just stumbling onto this post and want to start at the beginning, then you'll want to head over to Taylor's blog.

I have a couple of TE sets and had a hard time deciding which to use, but I finally settled on The Places You'll Go. I have a soft spot for Dr. Seuss and many of the other books and quotes in this set.
I used the sketch that we were provided and colored up my boat and scene. I figure that I'll give this card to my son as his end of year "Congratulations you made it through the school year" card. To me, both kids at home all summer = wild rumpus!
I paired the image with some K&Co. Carolyn Gavin paper and embossed the lower portion. I threw in some sewing, twill, ribbon, and brads and called it done! Hope you're enjoying hopping along and thanks so much for stopping by!

Supplies:
Stamps: Taylored Expressions The Places You'll Go
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, copics
Paper: MFT Perfect Panel, Riding Hood Red, Baja Blue, K&Co. Carolyn Gavin Greenhouse dsp
Accessories: Nesties, Sewing machine, Ribbon, Twill, Brads, Embossing folder

Birthday Roses

On Saturday I had the privilege of being a technique demonstrator at a stamping even run by some of my favorite Stampin' Up demonstrators. I demo'd three different flower embellishments, with this ribbon rose being one of them. This is one of the sample cards I made to display on my table. I kept the card pretty simple since I really wanted the flower to be the centre of attention. I wrote up some directions on these techniques and after I share all three with you, I'll post my written directions for anyone who might be interested!
Have a great Monday! Check back tomorrow for my Taylored Expressions Blast from the Past blog hop post!

Supplies:
Stamps: SU Watercolor Trio
Ink: Purely Pomegranate
Paper: Kraft, Old Olive, Very Vanilla, Thoroughly Modern dsp
Accessories: Satin ribbon, Corner rounder, Little Leaves sizzlet

Lather, Rinse, Repeat!

Don't forget to enter my blog candy draw HERE!

I'm squeaking this card in under the wire for Jen's sketch for you to try! This past week's sketch was sponsored by MFT so I really wanted to play along. I used a Pure Innocence stamp that I didn't have a chance to ink up for the last release called Lather Rinse Repeat.

I also got my order yesterday with my Die-namics dies. These things cut like butter! I used some white felt to mimic the bubbles and also made a flower out of the jumbo scallop die. I made it the same way that Barbara made hers in this post. I was also inspired by Susan to use one of the sentiments in the rectangular panel like she did here. I must admit that I giggled a little as I repeatedly stamped Lather Rinse Repeat!

I used liquid applique for the bubbles - I've loved using it since I read Jody's tips here! I also dusted some glitter on top of the liquid applique while it was still wet.

Have an awesome Friday! I have some last minute prep to do for Stamp-a-rama tomorrow but then I'll be able to share my samples with you!

Supplies:
Stamps: MFT Pure Innocence Lather Rinse Repeat
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, copics
Paper: MFT Perfect Panel, gp white, Basic Grey Kiyoshi
Accessories: Sewing machine, Die-Namics Jumbo Scallop Die, felt, button, twine, liquid applique, glitter, Sakura clear glaze pen, Nesties

Gratefully CAS!

Don't forget to enter my blog candy draw HERE! You have until Saturday night at 7pm EST to get your entry in!

Gasp I know!! I can't believe I cranked out a Clean and Simple card. But in all honesty - to me this image just begs for it! I love this flower from Papertrey's Friends 'Til the End and it's fun to colour. I used the sketch from this week's CAS challenge on Splitcoast and paired my flower with some SU patterned paper and ribbon.

Thanks for all your wonderful comments and for visiting! Later taters!

Supplies:
Stamps: Papertrey Friends 'Til the End
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Stampin Up Craft White
Paper: MFT Perfect Panel, Soft Suede cs, Thoroughly Modern dsp

Sketchy Grad!

Hey all! Don't forget to enter my blog candy HERE. You've got until Sat. night to enter to win a $27 MFT gift voucher, 3 Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps and a SU sizzlit.

I finally managed to finish my sketch card for the Wednesday stamp club over in the MFT forum. One of our babysitters is graduating grade 8 this year and I wanted to make her a card to accompany our gift. I know it's early but I'm trying to think ahead!

I paper pieced her sweater using some Memory Box paper and switched the half circles in the sketch out for some curvy shapes.
This post is short and sweet because I need to get busy and clean since we're hosting our small group from Church tonight. Later taters!

Supplies:
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, copics
Paper: MFT Perfect Panel, perfect plum cs, black cs, kiwi kiss cs, Memory Box Frond pp
Accessories: Sewing machine, top note die, brads, gingham ribbon, Sakura clear glaze pen, foam boosters

You're Berry Special!!

Don't forget to enter my blog candy draw found here!

Happy Monday!! Hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day! I had a great weekend and an amazing day yesterday!

I was inspired by last month's MFT Guest Designer contest to get out my felt! I can't wait until my new felt and die-namics arrive in my mailbox! I stamped these cutie strawberries on felt and cut them out. I adhered their stems and some googly eyes for fun.
I cut some strips of green cardstock and put them together to make a basket. Then I covered the whole thing in Crystal Effects to make it shiny and "plasticky" just like the real thing!
I used some ric rac to make a frame and stuffed my strawberries into the basket. Here's a view so you can see the dimension.
I finished off the inside too - I love this sentiment. My daughter still can't quite say her "v"'s so everything around our house is berry good, or berry special, or berry big. Tee hee!
Have a great Monday friends!!

Supplies:
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Brilliance Graphite Black, Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distress Ink
Paper: Fossil Notecard, Basic Grey Nook & Pantry, Certainly celery cs, gp white
Accessories: Felt, googly eyes, ribbon, ric rac, sponge, dimensionals, Crystal Effects

MFT May Shop & Hop

Welcome to the MFT May Shop & Hop!! All the new sets are now live and can be found right here. I can tell you that my order is already in and a set of the Die-namics dies are heading my way! If you've just stumbled upon my post and you'd like to start at the beginning click over to Kim's blog for all the amazing eye candy!

I know that you just saw an amazing Little Loveosaurus creation on Jo's blog, but can you handle another? I knew as soon as I saw this set what I wanted to do with it. This was my son 4 years ago at Halloween. The funny thing is that he still wears this costume for dress up - it's just 4 inches too short in the legs.
This is a new character for MFT by a new illustrator and retails for $9. His name is actually Jack and he is named for one of Jo's sons. I painted my frame with some acrylic paint and adhered some Basic Grey origins paper. I paper pieced Jack and shaded him with some copics. I added clear glaze to his teeth and scales. Some felt ribbon and glittered garnishes in the upper right corner finished it off. My son has already absconded this frame to his room (it was meant for his grandmother).

Thanks so much for hopping by! Don't forget that there is blog candy hidden along the hop somewhere! We're not telling you where though so leave comments all along the way for a better chance of winning!

Your next stop is the fabulous Jessie's blog. I can't wait to see what amazing project she has created for you!

Who's That Girl Top Shelf - MFT Teaser

Hey friends! I'm back today with another MFT Teaser for this month's Who's That Girl set. Top Shelf is being released tonight at 10pm EST along with all the other new sets and the new Die-namics Dies.
Here I used WTG and paper pieced her dress as well as the gift boxes. Do you recognize those pretty blue boxes with the white bows? Hope so - I was going for the Tiffany look, so I kept this card pretty clean to play it up. This set comes with all kinds of things to put on the shelves, so it's a very versatile set! Here's a close up so you can see the sugar coated cardstock. It's so sparkly in real life!
Kim will have a list of all the designers posting Teasers today after 11am EST on her blog. We're also showing this month's amazing Triple Scoop set today, so definitely work through the list!

Don't forget about the release party tonight in the MFT forum in this thread. Starts at 8pm EST and we party until the new stuff goes live at 10pm EST. Join us for fun, prizes and friendship. I know those dies will be HOT - I'm getting mine for sure. See you there! Thanks for stopping by!
