Oh, how I miss this.....

So beautiful! I stole this picture from my sister (thanks Katie). I was just talking to my friend today about how I miss Utah and it's cold fall days! It's still in the 80's here!

Scout Campout

Jared took the boys this past weekend on a Scout Campout. They went to Texas, and as you can see, it consisted of 2 Boy Scouts, Nathan, Joshua, Nathan Otis, Wolf (our dog) and the leaders. They had a great time. They shot clay pigeons, climbed trees, went fishing, cooked over a fire, went boating, chopped down a tree (with yellow jackets....see previous post!), and stayed up very late and got up very early! They came home dirty, stinky, and tired, so I knew it was a success!

While they were away a friend and I went to Dallas and spent the night. We got up and went to the temple and then did some shopping and eating before coming home! It was a great weekend for ALL!

Poor Nathan

Joshua looks and feels a lot better, so now it is Nathan's turn......

Jared took the boys camping this past weekend. Nathan got stung on the end of his finger by a yellow jacket. He came home and his finger was swollen and red, but by Sunday morning this is what it looked like. It was spreading down into his hand and getting worse. We gave him Advil and Benadryl, but it wasn't helping. So, Jared took him to Insta Care to get it checked out. (Actually I made Jared take him, because I knew if we waited till morning, I would have to take him into the doctor and he would miss some school, and you just can't miss ANY school in 5th grade). After waiting for a few hours, he came home with a shot of steroids in his bottom. Lucky Nate! It does look a little better this morning.

Poor Joshua!

Joshua has Poison Ivy!

Poor kid! He woke up this morning with this all over his body! "Mom, I am SO SO itchy!" were his exact words. So I took him to the doctor and left with a prescription for prednisone and an antihistamine. He stayed home from school today, but WILL be going back tomorrow! Jared took the boys out Saturday, hunting on the river. He says there is NO way they got it there, but I know better. Does he think I am growing it in the yard? He is in the doghouse!

By: Joshua Cardon

We have an author in our home. Joshua has really gotten into writing stories lately. He has a journal he writes in and he tells me he is working on Fiction and Non Fiction. He is SO proud of them and wants to share them with everyone!

Here are two of his creations:

One day my brother and me was at Utah. It was snowing. We made snow forts. It was so fun. Then I had to go to my grandpa's funeral. It was sad. He was a soldier. He was 86 then he died. The soldiers came too. His name was Grandpa Lee. He was a good grandpa. The End

Once upon a time a lost puppy didn't have a home. The next day he found one. But it was a haunted mansion. Then he realized his mother was dead. He started to cry. Then he realized he got bit by a rat with rabies. Then he ran to the hospital. They told him they didn't have medicine for it. The next day he prayed. Then the next day he lived. The End

Two stories about death...should I be worried?

Family Time

We had family in town over Labor Day! It was so much fun. Jared's Mom and Dad were here and his sister and her family came down from Arkansas! The boys had so much fun playing with their cousins. There was a lot of wrestling...... !Jared joined in on some of the fun! The kids were all over each other.

Joshua and Wyatt really got into it and spent a good amount of time trying to pin each other. There were a few tears, and rug burns but it was all in good fun!
Even though it was hot and humid, they still went shooting, and had a great time. Jared took them all to the shooting range. The did some target shooting and then some skeet shooting.

Grandpa and Grandma even got in on the fun!

It was a fun weekend. Thanks Weldon, Melissa, Wyatt and Justin for coming down and putting up with all of our drama. Hope you had fun!
