Mi Corazon Es Tuyo, #172 Fernando is THE MAN!!!!
Labels: mcet
Thought it was interesting that there were no previews for next week but a Diego collage. Hope that doesn't portend Isa making good on her threat to get back at him.
One of the things ive been worried about is that this show would go as dark as PEAM. Hope that doesn't happen in our last week!
So Ana's preggers. Was there really any doubt?! Lol
I was surprised that there wasn't a court scene with DNs custody. I would have thought Isa would have used DNs paternity but I guess she wants her money more...which I think is what Fer threatened her with.
How satisfying! Finally! Isabella sure got her due with: 1) Fernando just cutting through her silly excuses with a repeated "No me importa." ( It doesn't matter to me.) 2) Ana giving her another what-for with a slap included. 3) Fernando getting custody of Diego Nicolás due to Isabella"s neglectful treatment of the baby. 4) Fernando seeking an annullment through the church so he can marry Ana in the church. Great scenes; great acting.
My favorite part was Ana and Fanny jumping and "galloping" around like a couple of little kids now that Ana knows she is pregnant.
Very appropriate punishment for Alicia: one month no Pablo. Let is see if she will abide by it since she is begging for Ana to intercede on shortening it a little and Ana says she will try.
What havoc will Isabella wreak now with her computer expert? He wants his money because he has not been paid. Will he continue working for her?
I am really looking forward to this last week.

Isa seemed so distraught when Fernando walked out with her baby...but we haven't seen that kind of maternal interest before, so maybe she was just upset to be losing her meal ticket. And it looks like they are throwing Laura in as a last minute contender for mischief. She is kinda scary!

I also agree that the scene with Fer and Isa went on for too long.
Edith was confusing me with her mixed messages. One minute she's telling Xime that she's playing the same game as her, but then she's saying that she doesn't want Nando and means it. The double talk was confusing. I do like the toughness though. I hope she stays this course because it's such a better image of her. Or is this part of her plan to torture Ximena and drive her insane with jealousy and cause Nando and Ximena to break up?
laura was looking hot, but damn girl move on! I'm glad Fanny saw through the nonsense but Laura does not seem to be ready to let Leon go yet.
I think this show is about to get very dark.
There is nothing maternal in Isabitch. DN has been her meal ticket from the get-go and now the gravy train ride is over. He is of no value to her.
As to Arquemides, I see him as a moral blank slate. He is a computer geek who thinks Science rules all vs having any sense of philosophy that demands to know why things happen or are demanded. He may be desperate for cash, but being hired to hack someone else's computers should not be sitting well with him. He is old enough to know better.
The acting between Jorge and Mar was superb in those agrument scenes. Yes, was she distraught, but I also took it as realizing the jig is up and she has no chance of ever getting Fer back (remember last time in the house she still referred to it as HER house) nor being able to use the little one as her meal ticket.
That said, that baby is a saint. I was looking for earplugs thinking maybe that's why no fussing while the yelled over him. But I did notice Jorge when he picked him up, he held him close so one ear was up against his body and he held the blanket up to cover the other ear. Bless him. The scene later with him alone with the little guy had me melting.
I didn't really get the whole Edith/Ximena thing either. And is Nando waffling again? He needs to tell both of them he's done and go off to college somewhere.

I waited for your recap to get clarification on the whole adoption thing. So did David not know his baby had been abandoned and now wanted her? Honestly, if that's the case, I sort of have to say yeah for him taking the responsibility? Or did he just wait all this time...I haven't been paying attention much to this plot and watching Jen and Johny be so rude to him, I know they are upset, but would think they would support a father claiming a daughter he just found out he had? Confused.

Jarifa - I also enjoyed the scene of Ana and Fanny dancing about the pregnancy. Very cute.
Glad that Fanny has confidence in Leon and we don't have to go through episodes of doubt now that she is finally settled on him.
Diego (PM) is very good with the child actors. He is an appealing actor and character, as I think I say every time that we see him.
Johnny and Jenny - no sure where the Aura story is going, but given the little time left I am assuming that the father will see the light and let them adopt Aura, allowing him to see her now and then.
Fernando played his hand with Isa perfectly and was truly the hero of the day, keeping little DN, amazing baby-actor.
On West Coast and didn't get previews. I just thought they didn't show them like they do sometimes at the end of a novela's run and we would start getting montages of different characters instead.
OK, what do we know about Aura's mom besides that she apparently abandoned her baby and now is dead? Was she a teen like the moms of some of the other babies at the children's center? David looks to me a little too full grown to be the father of a teen mom's child. His story sounds fishy to me. He had no idea that he had a child until he reunited with the mother just in time for her to die? Ummmm...OK...
Isn't it a little odd that suddenly Isbela has become a marksman with a rifle (or even has a rifle for that matter)? A last minute padding of her maleficent resume to justify a weighty anvil that was reserved for her? I still think her worst crime was the attempted poisoning of Siete and even that was provoked (remember that he bit her?). I also will admit that she should have shown her mother more respect.
I wonder if Bruno's mom (remember her?) will be invited to Bruno's and Manuela's wedding?
Speaking of Bruno, I thought his boink with Beatrice cured his stutter... guess it was just a remission. Maybe Manuela can achieve a permanent cure.

I had warned everyone that there was a meltin scene coming with Fernando and DN. That was it!!
Wasn't that scene amazing?? i still say they kept the cameeras rolling BECAUSE Jorge and the baby had made that incredible connection... and his last words... 'who did you get/inherit those cutesie eyes from?... not me, but i love you anyway!'
I LOVED LOVED Jorge and Mayrin's acting in that scene... btw, cathyx, Diego told Ana that Fernando had to leave, not that he had to go after Fernando. And when Ana asked where did Fernando go, Diego tells her he will tell her what is going on when she gets to the hospital.
And when Fernando arrived at ISa's he told her I know the whole truth!! not that he wanted to know it.
LOVED LOVED it when he told her in her face 'i made the worst mistake of my life marrying you! and i did that based on a damn lie!! you are despicable (despreciable!!)'
LOVED LOVED that Isa tried to blame the fact that the baby was sick on Ana and Fernando would not have it... 'DON"T YOU DARE TALK TO ME ABOUT ANA!!!... she is infintely a better woman than you are!... there is not even a point of comparison... she is wonderful and you are despicable!'
The Edith and Ximena convo i saw as: Edith telling Ximena that she won't lie and say she is over loving Nando but that she is no longer interested in getting him back. Her last words sealed it... 'you might not have stopped loving someone but you can't love someone when you are not certain they won't change their mind tomorrow' (she means she could not take the chance to getting back with Nando knowing that he could play the same card with her and go back to Ximena or someone else).
I agree with you cathyx, that Ana's face after she slapped Isa spoke volumes!! boy Ana's self-esteem has come up a long way from when Isa had hummiliated her and even stepped on her hand early on...
LOVED the Fernando and Isa argument...
but my fav moment by a landslide was that intimate moment between Fernando and DN.
I think the Ana/Fanny scene when Ana took that home pregnancy test was consistent with Ana's character... she is a bit emotional and motherhood was the final part of her 'dream come true', esp having a child of Fernando's...
Loved that potpourri of Diego scenes in the end...
and then immediately after that 'several weeks later' when Ana and Fanny find out Ana's preggers.
I re-watched the whole confrontation between Fernando and Hissabella and Fernando did stop yelling once he picked up DN (almost)... Hissa did continue shouting so he asked her several times to stop yelling 'no grites!' and he was covering DN's ear with one hand while holding the other side of DN to his chest... (granted, Fernando was super angry so he was tryin his best not to be violent)
At the office Tomas got alarmed when Fernando showed him the DNA test, but Fernando said that they would NOT use it on his suit for the custody. Tomas did not understand and Fernando explained to him that Isa would not bring the paternity issue up since she would loose her apartment and stipend.
But Fernando wanted Tomas to start his church marriage annulment since the DNA test would give enough 'grounds'.
Ana says 'i drank the water but it has not come down yet' (when she went in to take the preg test... you know, drinking water supposedly helps you pee)
and then after they both start jumping Ana says 'se me va a salir' (its going to come out) as if jumping like that would make her have a miscarriage... lol!
btw, Ana is wearing different shoes now... no more platforms or big wood heels... now it is elegant high heels...
She doesn't deserve a second shot at this. She is becoming seriously unhinged and she's going down.
I think Bea Romero, the actress playing Edith, has a lot of potential and I hope to see her soon in other TNs, without the crazy hair and makeup. I guess the purple hair is right on trend though; just this week I saw a young girl with purple hair outside my Spanish classroom at the local college.
And Pablo Montero has brought so much life to this TN as Diego. It wouldn't be the same without him.
** committed murder (well she did try, unsuccessfully to kill IkkyLizard, so I would count the attemp)
** tried to physically harm anyone (well she did have the intent to throw Ana down the stairs, so to me personally that would count)
** tried to knife anyone
** poisoned anyone (personally I'd count Siete in, even if he is an animal and not a human being) (OH but as Carlos would say, she did poison the judge during the Civil ceremony because she put something in his drink to make him nod off)
** kidnapped anyone (well she did kidnap DN, but he is her child so maybe that doesn't count),
** physically scarred anyone (like throwing acid in their face)
** been a thief and stolen anything (but, correct me if I'm wrong, didn't she go along with Yoyomana when they pretended that Ana stole the necklace ?).
** embezzled anything from La Costeña (but she went along with IkkyLizard to bring down La Costeña) and (with the help of 'computer nerd' she did hack La Costeña's server to access the company email)
** commited hit and run (well she did run over Sebastián with her cane with the intent to do bodily harm)
She was not successful at her evil attempts, but the intent to me personally DOES COUNT and therefore she does warrant an anvil (of some kind).
Fernando is indeed the man!
I agree what Edith was doing to Ximena was not funny. She was screwing with a girls head she knows is bi-polar. I wonder if her return is so her stepbrother gets his comeuppance, if he goes for her again, and not a rekindled romance with Nando.
'you might not have stopped loving someone but you can't love someone when you are not certain they really do love you'
I don't think Isabruja tried to bring down La Costena; that would have put her out of a job she needed. However, everything else counts.
I thought Ana's and Fer's reaction to Edith was because of her new look.
1) She loves Nando, yes
2) she could snatch him back just like Ximena came and snatched Nando back
3) she doesn't want Nando back because she could never be sure if he really loved her
4) itherefore she can't really love Nando
Bonus: if Nando could be so in love with Edith then suddenly dump her for Ximena, then he could easily dump Ximena for Edith. I think this this root of why Ximena is so bothered by Edith's return.
historical, not so much naco... but there is some violence.
the young men are good actors.
I will be catching up soon to one of the others. Just posted tonight's article on the timer so it will hit exactly at 9. Hope you all enjoy it.
I don't think Ximena will be able to handle it. She's already cracking under the pressure. I don't think anything Nando says will convince her or reassure her. This could be the prelude for Nando to move on from both of these women. I hope so.
if you want to see how the Ana-Isa relationship really started to be a fully declared WAR, you gotta watch ep 8 (starts with Fanny catching Hissa and Fernando kissing in library, the backyard dinner (Hissa thinks the dress that Ana is wearing is her own so she comments that it 'looks fine but must be fake [look at Fanny's face there, priceless!], the flying crab, Ana spitting water all over Hissa, etc etc... the wonderful scene of the argument about 'what is important... LOVE!!!' between Ana and Fernando in her bedroom and ends with Ana hugging a half naked sudsy Fernando in his room whens he tried to appologize for the argument). Wonderful episode. I still have it in my dvdr. can't get myself to delete it... LOL
Definitely one of the key and most fun episodes of the novela IMO.
Edith seems to get it; Ximena needs to get it, too. IMO this relationship is not healthy for HER. She already went through most of her life wondering if her mother really loved her; she shouldn't go through the next phase of her life wondering if today is the day Nando's going to dump her for a shiny new object.
Nando likes the attention and his hormones are jumping. He's busy posting up pictures on Facebook and Twitter and collecting "likes". The attention of Edith & Ximena are just another part of his collection of likes.
He's 17 (almost 18) and he shouldn't be expected to tie himself down to one girl at that age.
Neither of the girls should put Nando being with them as a CRITICAL component to going on with their lives... as you pointed, it is not healthy for Ximena to latch on to Nando as if he were her magic pill and it would leave her even worse emotionally if he ever found 'a shiny new object'.
Nando is the one to blame for the girls doing this back and forth 'one-upping' each other. he should have not played with them by sending them to the waiting room for an indefinite time until he made up his mind between them. That only makes his decision that much harder to consider a 'final' / permanent answer.
I haven't liked some of the expressions on Edith's face since she's been back
I will agree with that... i have noticed that too... but it still does not make Edith a liar and scheemer unless he does make the switch back to her or suggest it AND she takes him back... we'll see.
Laura still after Leon.
Jen/Johnny and the baby.
Nando/Xi/Edith.
Ana telling Fer about the pregnancy (which will probably be tonight).
Bruno/Manuela secret marriage.
And, of course, Isa's revenge plots.
I got a kick out of how Ana and Fernando had been sleeping with her head on his lap and suddenly when Angel woke them up she swung her arm up and hit his face again... he just passively complained 'Ana!...'. Ana starts arguing with Angel to not startle her like this and then when Angel was like 'what?? are you ok?' she tells Fernando 'tell him!!' and Fernando tells Angel 'you gotta forgive my wife/mujer, she got an issue with spooks (sustos)'.
BTW,
Here are the actual time jumps...
'few days later...' before the scene:
Ana, Jen and Jonny get the DNA results. David is the father.
and right behind that 'few weeks later' before:
Ana takes the home pregnancy test... and she and Fanny do the happy dance
I think sparks have flown between Edith and Diego and I can see them together at the end. I don't think Edith is playing games; I think she is wise to see that Nando isn't worthy of her love. I hope her words lead X to see the same thing.
Isa may not deserve to die, but it would be the tidiest solution in terms of the custody (which could always be revisited) and visitation issues. If she went to jail, she might eventually get out. Killing her off is the only way that Fer and Ana get to keep DN and have Isa out of their lives forever. If she shoots Diego, her anvil gets a lot bigger.
My advice to anyone who wants to read the old recaps is to simply follow our blogmom's instructions and use Internet Explorer for your browser. Easy peasy. :)
Here his character was a bit in limbo-land towards the middle (married to Isa, then working on divorce while trying to get Ana back before Ana's mom was found)... here i have to say i am in love with Fernando... I would take both the good and the bad... he is not perfect... but manageable (as we have seen recently that Ana has been able to). Did the writers not do him justice? OF Course!! but he really did the best anyone could have with the role. and I can't see anyone else doing it better.
react first, think later. But he has come a long way from his early 'black and white' way to see/evaluate everything/everyone.
Forgettable trait of Ana's:
the shouting... (THAT"S GOTTA GO)
Forgettable trait of Isa's:
the way she treats others, including her own MOM... AND the tantrums... if you have several degrees from Harvard, ACT LIKE IT!!
Marta, I think the problem with JS and SN's scenes together is the juvenile love talk the writers gave them. They deserve the poetic stuff that was in Mariana de la Noche.
here Lenin and Fanny have more 'mature' language exchanges and romance than at times Fernando and Ana had... very good point. and one of the things i would have changed here... instead of the childish stuff Ana kept on saying i would have had Fernando like Poetry and recite stuff to her and maybe she could borrow a book of his library and do the same eventually.
I saw that in Entre el Amor y el Odio (with Cesar Evora and Suaana Gonzalez) and it worked... even though like here, she had much less formal education than him.
The writing is the problem in this TN, or at least one of the main ones. There has been a LOT of ridiculous dialog that NO ONE would EVER say in real life.
