The Scrappiest #109

This week we have a new sketch for you. This will be my last assignment with The Scrappiest. I am not applying for the next term. So ,thank you Liz for having me on the term. Fabulous inspiration every week. See all the inspiration>> HERE.
I decided to go 'purple' this week. Very bold colors from her favorite dress. Polka dots too! I think we are wearing this every sunday to church! LOL These photos were taken very near her birthday and I can see the little toddler has grown and is blooming to a girlie princess. Her smile, her charming words...... steal my heart and the Daddy's too! Here she is waving so happily when she saw her daddy in the distance.
Some techniques: 1) I used a large Prima flower and cut up the petals. Can you see the 'skirting' of purple at the left bottom. I brush some white paints over it too. Use your flowers in a creative way! Try this! 2) Flocked Rub ons - my newest fave from Prima. I love the fuzzy feel to these rub ons. What a great invention by Prima! 3) See the title "Girl"... it is actually floating... I cut a strip and instead of glueing it straight down, i only glue the end and allow the middle to float. Hmm..... do you understand me? haha... Since that paper is white, I misted it with a yellow Glimmer Mist to allow the Teal alphas to shine.
Hope you like this week inspiration. I will be back soon for more projects and layouts. Life is better now..... more organized but still I am looking forward to my children March School holidays.

Scrap and go

Hi friends, how was your week? It has been a crazy 5 days......... my little one went into ER (Emergency Room) last Friday... wee hours of the morning. Difficulty in breathing. Did we panic? Maybe I am too sleepy to be panicky. I was calmed when we were driving her there. She was not screaming.... just too tired..... bits of wheezing. The flu has quickly become bronchitis. Where did that come from? I dont know. I am just thankful God protected her. She is safe now. Breathing better. Thankful everything is on the mend! And mommy found 45 minutes to scrap and quickly launched into full swing. I am amazed how fast I scrap these days because I knew I just had that 1 hour or so. And I need to complete 2 LOs. Seriously fun!!! Like there is a hour glass beside me.. i knew I cannot think too much. Yet I knew what I wanted. A vision of the end effect and emotion. Seize the day! And off I go to zzzzzzzzzz land!!! Here's my DT assignment for THE Scrappiest. I will be stepping down after my term ends next week. Thanks Liz for having me on the team! I totally enjoyed it. And here's another DT assignment for my LSS, Made with Love. We get to use embossing powders. Just perfect for my new Prima stamps. You got to see those Prima stamps. I swear I can buy the entire range if hubby didn't whisper 'self control' into my ears!!! LOL!! Beside the birdcage stamp, this chicken wire/fence(what do you call this) stamp is my FAVE FAVE now! Alrighty, i got to catch beauty rest........ have a home made facial for the 'panda eyes' i get from lack of sleep!!! Thank you for dropping by! Have a great scrapping week ahead. Hugs*

Hello friends, it's reveal time over at The Scrappiest. HERE. A new sketch, a new prize to win!!! That's really yummy! Go over and try this sketch. I finally dig into my Pink Paislee paper..... love the sweetness of this collection. Oh baby!!! Here is a really nice picture of my niece. I am scrapping lots of her pictures recently cos she has such a beautiful and calm look. Some tips: I use the Pink Paislee stamp and use it over the Artisan Elements. Cool right!!! I misted it with Viva Pink Glimmer Mist. And then use my fingers to run over with Viva Pink and dot it over the background papers. Messy but fun!!!! I am loving this butterfly stamp from the Pink Paislee line. What a fantastic buy!!! See I stamp a music note underneath the butterfly and top it off with seam binding. I guess I am happy with the overall result. Simple but layers of little details here and there. Thanks for dropping by. Remember to go over to THE SCRAPPIEST. HERE.

The Scrappiest #86

"Smile" ......... Hello friends, it's happy Monday again! This week, I bring you Sketch #86 from The Scrappiest. I also use this to participate in The Color Room #28 challenge. Using Purple, Yellow, Grey & White. Sounds challenging, that's why I want to play along. These are the colors I dont normally use! LOL. I like these purple blooms so i use them in little dosage for this color combo. Can you spot the seam binding I misted with Glimmer Mist Black Magic. It turned out so beautifully grey..... with a touch of gold glimmer. Nice!!! I like! The story: My little girl has this sweetest smile whenever I pick her up from school. It is a smile that speaks to me "Mommy, I am so glad to see you." "Mommy, I miss you".... it is as if her eyes are beaming at me with that longing and 'missing me' message. I love love my little girl so much! So, hop over to these sites and play along. Sometimes it just helps jump start our scrapping mojo! See you soon!

A few of my favorite things...........

**** updates(13 Oct): I just finished teaching 2 scrapbook classes back to back in a one day! It was a blast. I will be back soon with some new projects. Meanwhile, if you have been wanting to take my class, there are 2 slots which opened up on 16 Oct (Sat) at Made With Love. I know the wait list has been tough, it is hard to put everyone in. So here's a little breather... 2 slots for you if you can make it. Call 62388770 today. ******* Sometimes I am attracted to brighter colors than I normally use. These color from Websters Pages "Sweet Season' just lighten up my day! So I use these papers and embellishments for THE SCRAPPIEST #85 sketch.......... A few of my favorite things.................. I still like this picture of myself so i scrap it again. I listed down all my favorite things like : lace, trim, vintage, flowers.... polka dots... on this page. YOu can guess... I use lots of my fave stuff too on this page....... See the Websters Pages Netting... I made a full skirt for the dress form.. layered another trim (which I misted)....... then I color a Tattered Angel Chipboard.. is that a mirror or magnifying glass... anyway, i added a netting there... I like such subtle touches. - I misted the trim with Glimmer Mist Black Magic (another fave of mine) - I also misted the cardstock with Viva Pink and Black Magic..... nice combo - Using blings, flowers is just pure happiness for me!!! LOL And now, A RAK..... I want to thank my blog followers. It hit 60 followers last week so I did a random draw. I am always thankful for you...... visiting my blog, dropping me some love and comments. Thank you! And now................... My little vintage pack of surprise goes to..................... ......................... ............................................. .................... TOMOKO!!! Email me at solouloulou@yahoo.com ! So, what are your favorite things? Things which make you happy! Scrap them today. Enjoy your week ahead!

Hello friends, how was your weekend? Hope it was fun! Here is this Monday's sketch over at The Scrappiest. Join in and you can win . Seriously I want to see you hop on this sketch! So much fun. "Dont forget"........ I love the title because many times we forget what is important to us. These photos are just some lazy days at Botanic Gardens... running about... laughing... just enjoying one another's company. I like such simple 'retreats'........ it is a reminder that Life has to be measured by moments... but just the big things we achieve or accomplish. I love these photos of Ellise with her Daddy... of course she can really wiggle up to daddy and get him to piggy back her. She just has her charming ways! Of course, Daddy dont mind. I just have to rub his back after that....... LOL! Capture their fun together... I am teary thinking these little kiddos will one day grow up and be away from us!!! They better not forget us, their parents! LOL! Techniques & Tips: - I misted with my fave Candy Apple and Tattered Leather (Glimmer Mists). - I love love the New Wonderfall motifs... flowers.. flowers ... nice white - since I am a 'texture' kind of scrapper, I have to add in trims and bloomers... who can resist these from Websters Pages? Ok, that's all I have for now.... more coming on Thurs ........ Have a great week ahead!

I have been good!

I have been away from the computer for a longer while....... and I think it is a good thing. Because sometimes I stay glued here for too long...... browsing...... aimlessly!!! LOL. Sometimes it is a good thing cos I stay connected with friends around the world........ But times when I am away, I get to be more efficient with time. I have been a good girl - "Santa", pls remember me this Christmas!!!! What did I do for the last few days? - I finished up 3 LOs for class samples. I can't wait to teach this. It is MAGICAL!!!! - I finished up DT assignments early so I am freed up next 2 weeks. - I finished up 2 LOs for nobody but MYSELF........ *wink*...... nice! This week, hop over to THE SCRAPPIEST. Sketch #83 HERE I love these photos of my girl, picking leaves. And those new Prima flowers... esp the pink one.. it has a feather on it! Pure magic! And I am loving the felt ferns too much! And Creative Prompts for you... my turn... my turn... to choose a prompt! I was so excited... hop over and see for yourself and play along too.! HERE. How much I love these shoes? I am vain... yes.. The Scrappiest #81

Time for a new sketch over at The Scrappiest. Come and join us... the DT inspirations are just amazing! HERE....... Remember you can win a $25 Gift Certificate....... wow.. that's lots of scrappy goodness! Here's my take" Training begins at home" I really like this photo of my girl, she is a pro at helping me peel carrots and potato. I allow her to handle a 'not so sharp' peeler and it goes fun. We started about when she was 2 and a half years old. Now at 3+, she is really very good with that. I even give her a butter knife to cut tofu, fishcake..... She is enjoying the 'grown up' responsibilities......... and she is enjoying her food better. A sense of achievement when she eats those food she cuts or peels. LOL! I believe in training kids from young to take simple responsibilities so that they can enjoy the process and learn to cook, take care of themselves....... So, what's your secret training 'program' for your kids? Share with me Have a great weekend ahead!

The Scrappiest #78

Happy Monday, time for new inspiration. Hop over to THE SCRAPPIEST for a new sketch. HERE. Here's my take on it.......... "Courage" I made this for myself......... instead of 3 photos, i put 2 in and replace that with the title. I am going through a decision making period. It impacts me, my time It impacts my family... Arrrggg........ seriously I am so fearful... Thus the title..... I need the courage to step out... to move forward but I am soooooo scared!!! A cluster of Prima flowers... see that white flower... I dry brush with some pink paint and dab my fave GOLD SHIMMERZ.... And this cluster of Seam Binding... pulll that pebble and you get a long long journal inside. I used a Prima packaging as a journal pad. More clusters.........
My thoughts in making in layout:
- I want a brown background... and since I love pink... i made it the accent colours
- I dry brush pink paints all over... can you spot it...
- I dab some Gold Shimmerz over the painted areas to give blingz and shine
- I painted the photos edges with pink paints... to give it some definition.
- I photo shop 1 photo to make it 'ghastly... or is it ghostly".... LOL... guess that's the face of fear!!!
- I like the symbol of the bird taking flight... I am wishing for courage to be in the place of taking flight with my dreams.
Thanks for staying on in this long post.
Have a great week ahead. You know I am thankful for you, my bloggy friends who drop by and leaving some love.
And for my Singaporeans friends, i posted some New Goodies for Sale.
Check it out at the top page. Thanks!
I will be teaching a New Class this Sept. Stay Tuned!
Now I am working doubly hard to get them out by this week. I am loving the colors!!!!

I want to use up my Websters Pages cos I know I will be buying MORE of the new collections which will hit our stores soon. Can't wait!!!! LOL.... This die cut paper is perfect this week's sketch. And my newest 'toy', Sizzix and more Sizzix..... this heart die cut. The cutest intricate details. I love it so much. I color the heart with SHIMMERZ Gold Glimmer. This product is the best... touch up on anything and your 'blingz.. blingz' appears on it. Love the effect. See this butterfly. Mist it red and touch up with Shimmerz Gold again! Hope you can join in the sketch challenge at The Scrappiest. Click HERE. You can win prizes, how cool and you get a LO done. How cool!
