And the walls came a-tumbling down

The last Bible story is here! Why isn't there an awesome song for every Bible story? "Joshua fit the Battle of Jericho, Jericho, Jericho." Now it's in your head isn't it?

Joshua and the Battle of Jericho features a colorful page with button on bricks that make up the wall. Match the bricks to the button color to build up the wall after it tumbles down. Don’t forget to move the music notes from side to side as Joshua blows his trumpet!

The cover and the back patterns and instructions are almost done. Check out all 12 stories here:

Joshua and the Battle of Jericho
Adam and Eve
Abraham and Isaac
Baby Moses
Moses pars the Red Sea
Daniel and the Lion's Den
Jonah and the Whale
Noah and the Ark
Sampson
The Creation
David and Goliath
Joseph and the Coat of Many Colors

Roaaaaarr!

Is my 21 month old the only one who loves that Katy Perry song? He always says, "find roar" and he keeps saying that through the entire beginning of the song until it gets to the part where she sings "rooa-a-a-a-arrr". Then he loves it.

Anyway....

Announcing another pattern my friends. This makes 11 pages out of 12 up and ready to by purchased and sewn and loved on (by your little ones of course).

Daniel and the Lion’s Den features a colorful page with a lion’s mouth that opens and closes. Peek inside and count his teeth!

Only one more story to go (plus the front and back of the cover and the front and back of the back page). Do you want a sneak peak of the last page?

Alright, you convinced me.

Any guesses on that Bible story? I guess you will just have to wait and find out!

Check out the shop to see the other 10 stories that are available. Which one is your favorite? And if you adore them, be a dear and pin it will you?

Last, don't forget to check out where I party!

Moses Parting the Red Sea Quiet Book Page

Are you totally sick of these yet? I hope not because I have a few more coming. For this page, colorful sea creatures hide behind Moses and a button-up Red Sea. Elastic and beads make it easy for little kids to unbutton the Red Sea and discover what is behind it. The instructions for the pages are all about 20 pages long with lots of colorful pictures to make it easy for anyone to complete the page. The instructions are for sewing, but the pages could also be created with fusible webbing or a hot glue gun.

Don't forget about the coupon KATE20 to receive 20% off in the shop until 4/25/2014!

˚giveaway results˚ And the winner is...

How was your weekend? Ours was pretty eventful. It consisted of a little trip to the emergency clinic and a lot of ibuprofen.

The Mr. and I recently joined a co-ed soccer team. The Mr. is actually quite athletic. I just try to keep up (which usually results in a lot of bumps and bruises and muscles so sore I have to lift my own leg into the car. Serious.)

Anyway, during our soccer game on Saturday, the Mr. got a break and headed down to the goal. He planted his right foot and kicked sideways with his left and then promptly fell to the ground writhing in pain. Not my favorite thing to see.

The diagnosis: a badly sprained and possibly-but-hopefully-not torn medial co-lateral ligament or MCL or a ligament in your knee that keeps it together. Nice one!

If you ever need to purchase crutches, try craigslist. We got some almost new ones for $5. That's about 90% off retail. Pretty good.

So while he is enjoying the next few days "relaxing", I will announce the winner of the giveaway.

Is it just me that thinks he is really cute?

And the winner is....

I want that! I follow your blog publicly :) This is Lacey D. just in case it doesn't show my name!

Congrats Lacey! Send me an email at candidly-kate (at) gmail (dot) com with your email address (so I can send the electronic PDF) and your home address (so I can send you the materials to make the snuggly).

And since I like the rest of you so so much, I will give you two things.

1. a few pictures of little Owen himself at 7 weeks old enjoying the Owen Snuggly...

2. a coupon code for the Owen Snuggly Pattern from here. How about 66% off? It's not as good as the 90% off that I got on the crutches, but that brings the cost to less than $2. And free shipping.
Not bad eh?

˚PDF Pattern˚ The Owen Snuggly Bear Pattern

My little nephew was born a few weeks ago and I wanted to make him something special. (You have to compete to be the favorite aunt when there are four others wanting the favorite-aunt-ever award). I know most kids have a favorite blanket, but frankly, they seem too big to lug around everywhere. So, I created the Owen Snuggly Bear. The Mr. likes to call him the ghost bear. As long as he admits that it is an adorable, cuddly, fuzzy ghost bear, I am fine with that!

Isn't he adorable?

 I thought so too!

Makes me want to snuggle up with him and read a good book.

And since my little nephew isn't the only one who deserves a little snuggle buddy, I've created a PDF pattern found here with over 30 pages of instruction full of detailed descriptions and tons of pictures. While some sewing experience is a plus, the instructions are detailed for even the most beginner sewers.

This little bear snuggly measures approximately 18" x 18" when complete and makes the perfect companion for any little one. The small size makes it easy to fit inside a diaper bag or purse. With minky on one side and 100% polyester satin on the other, the Owen Bear Snuggly is as soft as can be. Machine washable.

Materials needed:

1/4 yd.* soft minky fabric (if your fabric is less than 50” wide, you will need 1/2 yd.)
1/2 yd.* coordinating fabric (I used 100% polyester satin)
1 yd. thin ribbon that matches coordinating fabric
Batting (I used 100% polyester)
Black embroidery thread
Needle and thread
Scissors
Pins
Cutting Mat (optional)

*you may wish to purchase and extra inch or two just to be safe.

So, hop on over to etsy and check him out here! In the meantime, the little Owen Snuggly Bear I made will be on its way to some love....and slobber....the best kind of baby lovin'!

UPDATE: Enter the giveaway for the pattern and materials to make the Owen Snuggly Bear here. Hurry! It ends on Friday night at midnight. Winner will be announced on Saturday.
