Handmade Market gets bigger and better - Again!

Revealed this week... two snippets of most excellent news regarding a new location (and date) for the next Handmade Market and... a full time retail space for the hottest Handmade goods in Canberra!!!

So, while you've been waiting for the next market event, Handmade creator Julie Nichols has been one very busy lady. Confirmed for Sunday March 28th, the market is set to be staged in and around the Devine rooms of Kamberra Winery - lovely! Julie has also revealed that some awesome new local designers have submitted applications this time around, so of course I can't wait.

Then of course we will have the central city retail space launched shortly after the market and I have been lucky enough to be involved in designing Shop Handmade. Here's a sneaky peek at what is on the drawing board...

Kids Antique White Double Door Wood Armoire - Double Door Armoire (Antique White) 42 x 22

Loads of spaces for large and small items, jewellery, clothing, art, literature and more... it's going to be a little bit of Handmade heaven!

I'm so there! Love it,

Have you met MissChief Maker?

Nestled into the gorgeous gardens of Rodney's Pialligo, there lies a treasure trove of the coolest and prettiest goodies for kids and mums - and with a cafe and playground at the door step - it couldn't get more decadent (if you have tiny ball & chains like I do!).

Misschief Maker, housed in it's own little (new) rustic shack is run by Canberra mum Katie Dawson, and is entirely stocked by women and mums, busily hand making lamps, clothing, acccessories, toys and more - including 13 Canberran's! Plus a range of pre-loved threads for little ones.

Now's the time to check it out though, because, not only is the weather perfect for lolling in the gardens with a cold drink, but Katie is running a "gold sticker sale" for February - in time to make room for Autumn stock arriving soon. With loads of handmade clothes marked down up to 30% off and the big kids back to school this week, bring your pre-schoolers... I'll meet you there!

Goregoussss!

Hot shop: Typo

Typography in design is riding high right now. Turn a page in any interiors magazine and you're sure to find plenty of inspiration. Hitting the spot is new Cotton On venture, Typo, with new stores in the Canberra Centre and DFO, I just can't resist...

They stock all manner of stationery items, journals, notebooks, and folders. Wall stickers (HOT!!!) decor letters (HOT!!!) and some crazy-fabulous pen holders bookends and mugs! With quite a different flavour to Kikki K and Smiggle, it's well worth a look.

Love it!!! Check it out!

What about that market!!

Yowzahhh! If you missed it... - where the bloody hell were you??? Handmade Market was H-U-G-E, and with an estimated 12,000 Canberrans and style hunting tourists descending on the event at it's new location at Yarralumla Woolshed prooved it's position as Canberra's newest premier event.

Certainly well pleased were every stall holder I spoke with, and despite the apparent short comings in the parking department, all of the shoppers were extremely impressed with the quality of work on offer, not to mention the vast quantity of it. And while moments were pure mayhem, I did manage to slip away to do just a little bit of shopping... I couldn't leave without a gorgeous sequinned top by Chinchilla Creations (and I still covet the matching jacket... sigh), a name plaque for my little boy's room by Mooza Designs and some chai from the Chai girl (ooh yeah). I shall be eternally grateful for the happy mix-up which had my stall move a significant distance from Lindsay & Edmunds chocolaterie (instead of almost on top of it) my ass says thank you.

A big big thank you to my gorgeous Frenchy friend Odile who tirelessly helped me ALL DAY! Legend.
And a special thank you to people who deemed my goodies goergeous enough to bring home, and my gorgeous readers who stopped to say hello, your comments mean the world to me, so keep them coming!

Love Nina x
Were you there too... what did you think? what did you get?
