CTMH Paper Collections

Welcome to our May Blog Hop featuring our favorite New Paper Collections. We have 4 new, amazing and fun paper collections in the Current Seasonal Expressions 2 catalog.
We have a wonderful group of talented ladies from all across Canada and they sure would love to hear from you, so before hopping onto the next person, take a moment and leave a comment about what you loved.

If you would like to start at the beginning of the hop, and continue from East Coast to West Coast, you can start here at My Creations with Michelle. If you've arrived from The Brae-er then you are in the right place!

I want to share the Prickly Pear paper with you today because it suits for so many of life's events.

We have coordinating Prickly Pear Sequins and the easy to use Prickly Pear Compliments which are a combination of stickers and chipboard die-cuts.

The layouts below were designed by fellow consultant, Donna Cosgrove. I love how quickly they went together. I made a few slight changes to make them my own but I am blessed that we have so many consultant sisters who freely share their artwork for anyone to use. Being a lady who isn't particularly good with coming up with designs of my own, these ladies sure help make my fun job even more fun. It saves me time which I get to then get to spend with my kids. We may be doing our farm chores but we do them together.

Now for the artwork~

With the left over paper, I simply added some card bases and envelopes to make these 7 additional cards all on my own. Wondering if I got out the sewing machine to add the stitching?

No way Jose, I drew them on with our journaling pen. I intentionally left the sentiments off of a few cards so I can add something specific to the occasion when I need a card.

Thank you for stopping by Canadian Scrappers for a dose of inspiration.

I used silver shimmer trim, grey enamel gems and whisper thick twine.

These are so simple to and a ton of fun too!

Sparkle & Shine Christmas Cards

Christmas is just around the corner.  With our 2nd snow of the season here in beautiful Manitoba, Canada, I just had to start making my Christmas cards.

This is a standard 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 size card.  I used the Sparkle & Shine Paper Packet, Slate Satin Polka-Dot Ribbon, Polar Bear Holiday Stamp Set, Sparkle Flourishes-Small and coloured it in with markers in slate, ruby & juniper.  The brads are retired but oh so perfect to add to this card.

For this next card I used the Sparkle & Shine Paper Pack, Red Shimmer Trim, Liquid Applique & our HOSTESS ONLY stamp set called, Wintery Wishes.  Just a little bit of paper piecing makes the cute penguin simply adorable.

Happy Holidays!

Sarita has me inspired...

I made a few cards this weekend at a crop using the Sarita Paper Packet left overs after having made the Workshop On The Go Sarita Kit.  All cards are 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".

This card uses the Card Chatter- Sympathy set, Outdoor Denim Ink, Just Blooms Paper Shapes, and the Slate Satin Polka Dot Ribbon.

This next card features the August Stamp Of The Month, A Chocolate Affair!!  I paper pieced the sweet cupcake and added 3D Foam Tape for dimension.  The ribbon is Dark Chocolate Striped Grosgrain  and the centre shape used is from page 43 in the Cricut Art Philosophy Collection.

My 3rd card uses the Stamp Set that comes with the awesome, Laughing Lola Workshop On The Go Kit and inked it in Gypsy & Lagoon Inks, trimmed & layered.  I Scallop Border punched  the Lagoon Cardstock.  I used the Words of Comfort Stamp Set, Gypsy Ink sponged onto the Colour Ready Seam Binding Ribbon.  I love how you can make the ribbon any colour you want it!!

On the final card, I decided to give some love to a couple of retired stamp sets that were just too cute not to use.  Pun Fun was used to make the turtle & sentiment while I made the balloons with Happy Forever.  I did use the new Slate Striped Twist Ties as an embellishment.  Isn't he cute?!

Thanks for stopping by & I hope you're inspired to get out & play with your inks too.

If you came from Scrapbooking with Cheryl then you are in the right place!

For my card, I featured Jeanette's Archived Stamp Set called Flowering Thanks.

The card is the standard 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 base.  The sketch is from the Make it From Your Heart Volume 2, pattern 24.  I used the Laughing Lola Paper Pack and added some topiary cardstock for the paper pieced leaves.  All of my stamping was done using the Black StazOn Ink Pad

The flowers were paper pieced & raised with 3 dimensional foam tape. The Mini-Medley Accents Black Collection made embellishing this card a breeze!  I added some of the Grey Wool Bakers Twine from the Neutral Assortment simply by separating the grey strands from the white and threading my buttons with it.

July Blog Hop~ Tags!!!

Welcome to the July Blog Hop : Art Philosophy style. We are a group of Close to my Heart consultants ) and will be showcasing Tag projects made using the card feature key from the very versatile Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge.  If you are visiting from Amanda's Blog then you are in the right place, if not, please go and start from the beginning at http://www.creatingwithcourtney.blogspot.com

Here is what I came up with:

This card has a cute little pocket that contains 3 tags that can be used as book marks.

I used the Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge to cut out the card bases, one in Sunset & another in Colonial White.  I added a piece of Lagoon cardstock between the layers before attaching them together so the dragonfly stands out as well as a piece of Colonial White ribbon to secure it closed.

I cut 3 tags in various sizes and decorated with Stella Paper, Stella Zip Strips, Irresistibles Persnickety Journaling Spots, Color Ready Garden Wood Shapes, Life is Tweet Stamp Set & Paradise Baker's Twine.

This really made a wonderful teachers gift!

Next you should go to Vanessa's Blog
