I graduated!! After nearly 6 years of school(the last 2 yrs were year round) I am finally done. It feels so nice to have my Bachelor's degree and to accomplish this goal I have had! My Bachelor's degree is in University Studies and my minor is Home and Family Studies. When asked what my plans are now? I just want to be at home and raise my kids but we know that doesn't always happen so it's so nice to have a degree. I feel like my specific degree and classes I have taken really will be (and have been) beneficial at home in my family life. I'm so thankful for all the support I have gotten throughout school. Calvin has always been supportive of me and what I want but has encouraged me to keep going. I wanted to quit after I got my associates degree in 2008. I didn't enjoy school and didn't want to finish but I knew it was important. I'm so glad I found my Home and Family classes and Culinary Arts classes shortly after because I enjoyed them and decided to finish. I'm also thankful for supportive parents and siblings who didn't push me but encouraged me to finish. I will never regret getting my degree and feel so accomplished. I have really grown so much in the last 6 yrs as a student. I remember when I started school writing a simple paper was soo hard and I constantly asked Calvin for help with homework but I have gotten where I could crank out a paper or assignment in no time and not needing help with homework. I look forward to the extra time I have and hope to get some sewing projects done and be able to do more projects with Madison.
On Wednesday we had a little party. We went to dinner with Toni, Andi(Calvin's sis), and Evelyn and then came home and played games and had cupcakes. We decided not to go anywhere but it was nice to spend time with family.
