All about them Palettes

First off can I just say, I have had the longest nails for a while and since I had a little outdoor activity thang today.. I snipped them all off.. and I AM LOVING THIS FEELING of typing without the clickity clak of them nails.

Okay, back to the topic.

Palettes.

Blush Palettes. Eye Palettes. Holiday Palettes. On-the-go Palettes (you girls know what I'm talking about here *wink wink*)

I AM OBSESSED and for some reason that I do not know of, the makeup gods keep coming out with them and I AM BROKE and actually quite honestly, cannot afford most of them right now. And the worst of all is..

Most of them are limited edition.

#whydoyoudothistomeomakeupgods
#ineedmoremoney
#maybeapartimejob
#ijustwannaownallthesepalettes

Here are the Top 3 palette that I am UTTERLY obsessed with and with Christmas round the corner, if anyone's feeling particularly generous and not knowing where to spend that money.. you know where to find me. (lol)

1. NARS Virtual Domination Blush Palette

How beautiful is this palette? Like actually HOW? It's retailing at £45 which roughly equates to RM255. Which, sounds like a lot but if you think about it.. there's 4 almost full size blushes (1 is a highlighter but you know what I mean) and a large pan of Laguna Bronzer.. It's totally worth it. Plus it's NARS so you know you're gonna get amazing quality blushes/highlighter/bronzer. Also, this is going to last you for YONKS. Like, I've been using my NARS blushes regularly for a couple of years now and I'm not even close to making a dent in them.

2. Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Palette

Photo Credits: Makeup and beauty blog
Okay, I don't own any Hourglass products because they are pretty much impossible to get around Malaysia.. and they weren't in the UK whilst I was in the UK. #nofate

But, lucky for me I've got a best friend who's still there and she's bringing this baby back for me! I'll get it when I see her in Brunei next month. SO EXCITED. I mean, already I am ecstatic I get to see Diana after a good half a year but also pretty darn ecstatic about receiving le blushes.

Retails at £36 for 3 blushes which apparently suits any skin-tone and is super long wearing and makes your skin luminous. I don't know, I haven't tried but  I WILL. And trust me. I'll be doing a review on this one. WAIT FOR IT.

3. Urban Decay Naked On The Run Palette

Ugh, like as if this needs any introduction right? Anyway, it is being released in good ol' Malaysia next weekend.. Saturday the 6th of December to be exact and you can bet your horses Amelia's going to be in line for this (well, only if a certain someone is also willing to go together so we can queue together lol *AHEM*). Either way, I will get my hands on this palette at some point even if it's not next Saturday.

Being a fan of Urban Decay's Naked line -- I have all 3 Naked Palettes + Naked basics and their one of their flush palette.. I think I will love this. The eye colours are all super wearable and perfect for any occassion and that bronzer be looking heavenly and that bright pink blush? Uh.. yes?!?!

I think it'll be retailing at RM180++ if I'm not mistaken which hello? it's super worth it lah! Comes with a full sized Naked Lipgloss too and that mascara and eyeliner might be smaller but you can always fit something in there and then you'll only EVER need one palette to carry round with you everywhere.. THINK ABOUT THE COUNTLESS POSSIBILITIES.

Hopefully will get my hands on it and then I can blog about it too! Hehe

To be completely honest, if I can get my hand on the UD one then I'll have 2 out of these 3 that I am currently lusting over which is not too bad considering NARS Malaysia is not even bringing in the Virtual Domination palette here. I need to figure something out. (T-T)

Are there any other palettes out there that I am missing out on? haha let me know!

Also, everyone have a great last month of the year! Last month of 2014. That's cray man, this year has gone by WAY too fast, but I'm glad. ONWARDS TO BETTER THINGS IN 2015!

Lots of love,
Amelia xox

My M.A.C Army (as of 20th October 2014) + Swatches

I remember the first time I was captured by the M.A.C lipstick stands and the vast array of colours.. they were a sight to behold. To be honest, I'm still crazy awed by all the colours and variety of them lipsticks in M.A.C and my ultimate dream is to own every single one of them.. and the holder too. IMAGINE THEM IN MY ROOM ON MY NIGHTSTAND/VANITY. Damn son, it'll be so magical to wake up to them err'day.

Today I will be typing about my modest collection of M.A.C lippies.. and leg swatches (only because it is SO much easier to take photos of my leg rather than my arm.... since I don't actually have a model lol)

It took me ages to figure out if I should group them by colour, finish  or collection but I have decided that I will group them by colour. That way, I'll know which colour group I'm lacking in the most. Hehe

Don't they look like soldiers?
Cue: Destiny Child's Soldier song. LOL
Them REDS

 (L-R)

Amplified Roxo from the Pedro Lorenço Collection, Huggable Lip Colour in Red Necessity, Matte Ruby Woo, Lustre Cockney, Satin Sa La Vie

Swatches - With Flash (R-L as opposed to L-R as above)

Swatches - No Flash

Them PURPLES

(L-R)

Satin Rebel, Matte Heroine, Lustre Plumful, Lustre Pink Popcorn, Amplified Saint Germain

Fun Fact #1: Saint Germain was given to me by Allisan.. it's a super barbie pink and it makes me look tan!

Fun Fact #2: I have a Pure Heroine from the Lorde collection waiting for me somewhere cause Diana got one for me! :D So excited to try it out, it's meant to be an even deeper purple compared to Heroine. Also, I ADORE Lorde, so anything to do with her, I love already. Haha

Swatches - With Flash

Swatches - Without Flash

Them CORALS/ORANGES

 (L-R)

Cremesheen Crosswires, Amplified Vegas Volt, Lustre Dreaming Dahlia, Amplified Morange, Sheen Supreme Gotta Dash!

Fun Fact #3: Morange was the first ever bright lippie in my entire collection (including everything non-M.A.C as well) I remember wearing it a lot to University and being shy abt having a bright lip. Hehe.
Swatches - With Flash
Swatches - No Flash

Them PINKS

(L-R)

Cremesheen Lickable, Amplified Impassioned, Matte Candy Yum-Yum, Huggable Lip Colour in Love Beam, Viva Glam Nicki Satin, Lustre Flamingo

Fun Fact #4: Candy Yum-Yum was discontinued for a while but brought back when M.A.C allowed their consumers to choose which discontinued colour to bring back! :D This neon pink won and I had to have it hehe

Fun Fact #5: Yes that Viva Glam is for Nicki Minaj (who I am a huge fan of) and yes, I only bought it because it was Nicki Minaj. HAHA It's a pretty colour tho, I should really use it more often.

Swatches - With Flash

Swatches - Without Flash

Them NUDES

(L-R)

Cremesheen FanFare, Amplified Chatter Box, Lustre Patisserie, Cremesheen Creme Cup, Cremesheen Creme D'Nude

Fun Fact #6: Creme D'Nude is my FIRST ever M.A.C lipstick puchased and turns out to be the least suitable colour for me in my collection. Lol. I was conned cause the colour looked so good on a friend of mind, so I bought it but upon trying it on.. I've been asked if I am sick cause I look so pale. Lol

Swatches - With Flash
Swatches - No Flash
Hope you enjoyed this little inlook (???) into my modest collection of M.A.C Lipsticks. If you ask me, my favourite finish has to be Lustre. Only because it's mostly moisturizing and easy to apply. I also LOVE the Huggable Lip Colours but unfortunately I managed to grab only 2 colours out of the 6 (if I am not mistaken) and that will forever be on my "THINGS I REGRET" list.. #over

**********************************

On other personal news, I'll be back in Brunei and re-united with my fur babies in about.. 2 sleeps!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  SUPER super SUPER excited I cannot even. Haven't seen them in about half a year, so that's always exciting. Hehe

Hope everyone is well and have a Happy Deepavali!

Body Shop Colour Crush Lipstick in #18

Hello everyone, been a while since my last post but so much has happened this past week and I'm still trying to recollect my life around it but everything's going well and almost, almost going according to plan (I emphasize on almost because when does anything ever go according to plan, right?)

Actually, it is this week that I learned.. you can plan all your want for the future and plan every single detail to the little tiniest bits and pieces.. and life will still surprise you and suddenly those plans don't work so well any more.

Lesson to learn: just go with the flow and live life as it is. Don't sweat over the small stuff, they will all come in due time. Everything is going to be okay in the end. If it's not okay, then it's not the end.

Anyway, today I thought I'd blog about thoughts on my absolute favourite MLBB lipstick at the moment! The Body Shop Colour Crush Lipstick in #18.

Let me tell you about this amazing lipstick. Not only is it ULTRA moisturizing (literally, it will glide on your lips like a DREAM), to the point where I don't even need to use an extra lipbalm or chapstick.. the colour is sheer but totally buildable and it is super affordable at less than RM50 from Body Shop nationwide!

The longevity of the lipstick is also decent for a sheer formula, and it stains the lips beautifully, not leaving that weird outline on your lip. (Y'all know what I'm talking about!) haha

I am already halfway done with it but I am definitely, definitely repurchasing it again when it's finished! I love it so much, I think I am going to try the other colours as well. Hehe

Here's how it looks like swatched on my lips:

Very light everyday pink
And here it is with my everyday-work-makeup:

Hope you've enjoyed this short post!

Do you have a favourite MLBB lipstick that you would like to share? Let me know in the comments below! :D

Urban Decay Naked Flushed Palette - Streak

Hello everyone.

Recently, I've obtained a latest addition to my Urban Decay NAKED Collection.. and as you might have guessed from the title, I have added the UD Naked FLUSHED Palette in Streak! I have actually been DYING (okay, maybe not so exaggerated but you get my drift) to have this in my collection mostly because a) it's freakin' gorgeous? b) 3 products in one - nifty or what! c) Amelia Liana is always raving about this and I love Amelia Liana (she's one of my favourite Beauty Gurus on YouTube!)

Anyway, since I'm flying off this coming Friday for a short getaway, I thought it'd be nice to have a 3 in 1 product so I don't have to carry all three items separately.
Just FYI, The UD Naked Flushed palette comes in 4 shades:

1) Naked
2) Native
3) Streak
4) Strip

They're all different, some a little more shimmery than others, and the blush colours range from pinky to mauve. I am thinking my Streak is a little more towards the coral shade which is totally what I am digging right now anyway :D

Was SUPER excited to pick this up. Been eyeing it for MONTHS now!
The Palette in all it's glory.
As you can see in the pictures below (I have used the product a few times now so please excuse the uneven surface), the bronzer and blush are completely matte. Which I prefer anyway. If you are looking to add a little shimmer to either your bronzer or your blush, there's always the option to mix a little of the highlighter and voila! You get a shimmery based blush/bronzer!

Having used it a couple times now, I can safely say that this was definitely a GOOD purchase. I am very happy with it. The bronzer is not too orange (as you can see from the pictures), and is not too dark for my skintone as well. The highlighter gives a very lovely subtle glow to my face with I love and the blush-- oh.. the blush. I don't have any colour like this. It's very natural and can definitely use for both night and day.

This palette cost MYR120 and you can find it at any Urban Decay stands at Sephora :D I am very blessed to be able to obtain this for a very discounted rate (THANK YOU FAIRY GODMOTHER HAHA) or I wouldn't have been able to add this to my collection at the moment. HEHEHE

Here are some selfies with the UD Naked Flushed Palette fully utilised LOL

#FOTD:
Foundation: Urban Decay Naked Skin in shade #3.0
Concealer (under-eye): Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer in #01 Light
Eye Shadow: Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette shades: Strange, Limit, Dust and Darkside
Eye Liner: Maybelline Hyperliner + Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on Eye Pencil in Bourbon
Mascara: Benefit They're Real Mascara
EyeBrows: Sephora eyebrow pencil + Etude House eyebrow mascara
Cheeks + Forehead + Contour: Urban Decay Naked Flushed Palette in Streak
Lips: YSL Rouge Volupté in shade #29

As you can see, it's all very natural (I THINK LA OK haha if you think otherwise can always voice out in the comment section lol) and I LOVE IT. And while I'm at this, I also really like the Naked Skin Foundation, mostly because it is captured on pictures very nicely and okay,  it really feels like second skin.. so light, always forget I'm wearing foundation if I use this.

I hope you enjoyed reading this post! Apologize for the messy background. HEHE Wasn't really thinking.. will plan it out better next time!

Hope y'all have a fantastic Sunday tomorrow :)  Oh, if you have any of the other colours, let me know what you think of them!!!!!

Lots of love,
Amelia x

M.A.C Mineralize SkinFinish in Soft and Gentle

I've always been quite interested in what these Mineralize SkinFinishes are from M.A.C. On one hand, I suppose they're mostly highlighters, but I watch a YouTube video or two and there's that occasion where YouTubers use them on their whole face so I am most definitely intrigued by this product.

On their website, they explain the product like this:

"A luxurious velvet-soft powder with high-frost metallic finish. Smoothes on: adding buffed-up highlights to cheeks and brows, or an overall ultra-deluxe polish to the face"

Definitely a one-of-its-kind product and I am so happy to be able to add Soft and Gentle (I think it is one of their more famous ones) to my make-up collection!

I am definitely up for some lovely highlights on the apple of my cheeks, or under my brow bone. I am pretty sure you could use this product all over your lid too, or in the inner corner of your eyes just to give it a little more of that doe-eyed factor.. there's even the possibility of putting it on the cupids bow of your lip to make it more defined! :D I'm going to be playing around a lot with this product. How exciting!

I was told my the Sales Assistant that these Mineralize Skinfinish now come in a new packaging. To be honest, I think I prefer their previous packaging but when I voiced it out in the shop, the SA did say,"oh really, I think this is a lot nicer." .. hmm. Oh well, to each their own. If you own a Mineralize Skinfinish compact in it's old style, which do you prefer? Let me know!

Here's how it looks like now:
The compact is a little domed on the top which is fine, I suppose. But that also means that if I put it the wrong side up, it won't be completely flat. I'm a clumsy person, so I definitely would've preferred it if it could be laid flat/
There was also quite a bit of fallout around the packaging too. The actual product is BEAUTIFUL. I mean, will you just look at this:

Here are a few more true-to-colour shots:

I think the thing with these MSF is that they look like a glaxy on their own. Gorgeous and just that sheen that magpies (like myself) just can't stop being drawn to! There is a lot of product here and I can tell it's going to last me quite a while :D Which is good considering this cost RM120 a pop.

Here is a simple swatch on my hand (keep in mind, I am a NC20-25). You can tell already that it is going to look so pretty on the highpoints of your face right! hehehe Also, it is super easy to blend out, so you don't have to be too afraid of having too much concentrated on one spot:

I will most probably post a picture of myself with this MSF on my Instagram, so follow me there if you haven't already! Mostly selfies, pictures of people I love and food! Here's my Instagram name: pinkedgloss.

I hope you enjoyed that brief discussion (??) about MAC MSF in Soft and Gentle! Do you own any other colours? If you do, let me know which is your favourite! I know some of them are dark enough to be carried off as blushers, or even bronzers. Hehe

On a more personal sidenote, I have been neglecting this space for a bit not by choice. I've been super busy with my job.. next week will be my 1 month in the new company! Can you believe it? Time passes by way too quickly now a days. Anyway, I've only just completed my first ever quarter close and it meant weekends in the office and late nights for a couple of nights.

I am pretty much tired out, but will be heading out tonight :D After all, it is a Friday night and I am blessed in a way that I actually have something to do tonight. Hehe.

Also, my darling Chloe will be visiting this weekend, so it's going to be so fun showing her around this place I call home now.

I hope everyone of you are well.

Lots of love,
Amelia xo

Bronzers of the mo'!

I've been hooked onto bronzers ever since I've seen the magic it's been able to do! I'm still really light handed when using bronzers even though I have been using it for quite a bit now. Maybe about 2 years? Still need to work up the courage to pack it on so I can actually see it though. What I love about bronzers is the lovely glow that it seems to give your face. It's my favourite part. Especially when you've got a face full of foundation or BB cream and all you really want is a little bit of colour, besides your blush. Bronzing will be your solution! :D

{Also, can I just say: I watched Maleficent last night and DAYUM GURLFRIEND, Maleficent's got her bronzing game on point!}

I'm super choosy when it comes to bronzers that I will actually buy. Firstly, no shimmer. Like, I prefer a matte bronzer all around. Shimmer can be so.. distracting to be completely honest. but then again,i guess sometimes things you don't necessarily like ends up surprising you. (LOL) Secondly, nothing too dark. For obvious reasons. I'm about a MAC NC20 - 25 and mostly wear shades Fair, light. So nothing too brown or it's going to look super muddy on me and nothing too orangey cause I don't really like that look :P

Anyway, I've been OBSESSED with these 3 bronzers over the past couple of weeks! Let me introduce:

From Left to Right:
Canmake Shading Powder (in 01 Danish Brown)
Kiko Cosmetics Essential Bronzer (in Warm Melange)
Sleek Face Contour Kit (in Light)

Let me tell you a little bit on how I came about my Kiko Cosmetics Bronzer. First off, Kiko Cosmetics a.k.a Kiko Make Up Milano, originates from Italy. While being in Italy my first time round, I noticed it a lot but fortunately (for my wallet then),  I wasn't into makeup yet. So, making it a point, I KNEW I had to walk into one of their shops this trip round!

We need a Kiko Cosmetics in Malaysia seriously! They're makeup is of good quality and is inexpensive, very affordable and AWESOME.

While we were in Verona, basically, they had the sign 1 EURO LIPSTICKS, so naturally, my mom and I oooh and aaahhed (my mom loves lipsticks)  and we went in and within MINUTES I TELL YA, my mom had about 4 lipsticks in her basket already. Oh, and nail polishes ("Girl, 1 euro for Nail polishes where can you find so cheap! Quick which colour nice!" - she proceeded to buy 5) and eyeshadow ("4 euros for eyeshadow sticks?! I LOVE EYESHADOW STICKS. Girl which one will fit me???" - she proceeded to buy 4) Yeah, now you know where I get my shopping habits from. HEHE

I on the other hand was basically, tottering about just trying everything out. I didn't have anything in particular to buy and then this bronzer cause my eye.. and I was just staring at it when one of the shop assistants came up to me:

SA: Bonjourno! *Starts speaking in Italian very quickly"
Me: Sorry, no Italian, English!
SA: Ah, English! Yes, bronzer! This colour suits you. Beautiful, let me show you.
And she whips me off to the corner and starts applying it on my face.
Let me clarify, usually I do not enjoy this cause god knows where that brush of hers has been and yeah.
After which, I looked at myself in the mirror.

Me: Yes, I'll take one.

SHE MADE ME GOLDEN. Like seriously, it was beautiful, I don't know how she did it but I went up to my mama and she was like, Oh wow. your face is brown, but in a nice Italian way (HAHA WTF).

So yes, that's my story. I also bought a new brush and some eyeshadow sticks -- my mom made me really want to get one too. LOL No regrets though, quality eyeshadow sticks they were.

Also, this whole bronzer, the pan is bigger than my fist.. I think it's gonna last me FOREVER costed only 16.90EUROS. That's barely S$30/ RM60! (Also, I'm not very good with forex so excuse me there hehe) So it was SUPER affordable. And I love it so much. It smells beautiful as well btw! Also, this is part of a limited summer collection so YAY!

I know I said I do not like shimmer in my bronzers, but I'll make an exception here. It's not OTT and it gives a beautiful sheen that doesn't look like I'm about to deep fry some eggs on my face!

Anyway, I am awake you can't purchase KIKO in Malaysia, but you can find them online.. I ain't too sure about shipping though, but they have their shops in several places as well as the UK (although I checked and they were selling it the except same price except in £££ so more expensive leh!) and America!

Beautiful swirls! Don't they look like galaxies? *dreams away....*
Onwards to my second bronzer that I have been obsessed with lately: Sleek Face Contour Kit in Light! Now, Sleek Makeup is another affordable makeup brand who is very well knows for their trio of blushes, and, super affordable eye palettes! Hola at me if you've got one (or two, or three, I don't judge) of their eyeshadow palettes! Usually about 12 colours for only £7.99. RIDICULOUS. Too cheap. and so pretty too. Love their packaging, very reminiscent of Nars (which unfortunately is super pricey).

I ordered mine online from Luxola (best website hands down) and this kit costed me RM45.50 but I purchased it when Luxola had one of em crazy sales days and took 20% off that price! (I can't do math but I assume I paid less than RM40 for this) and I think it's very reasonable because not only do I get a nice amount of bronzer, but it comes with a highlighter as well! (Which is beautiful too, not OTT and just lovely to put under my eye area)

The bronzer comes in 3 shades, Light, Medium and Dark and I chose Light for obvious reasons and it's perfect and matte. I LOVE IT.

Last but not least, is my Canmake Shading Powder. I bought this at our local Sasa, unfortunately I don't really remember how much I paid for it since I bought it a while back. Canmake is a Japanese drugstore cosmetic brand and while it's super cheap in Japan itself, I find that the prices here and in Singapore (generally), are about double the price! It's quite alarming T_T

Out of all my bronzers, this is the lightest and the only one that comes with a brush. That said though, I don't use the rbush at all, much prefer using my own fluffy brush for a more natural look!

In regards to it being the lightest bronzer out of the three that I have been reaching for on a daily basis, this is the most naturalest (is this even a word wtf).. so definitely something I would use just to not make my face look so flat! I like it enough and it's so cute! looks like a chocolate bar doesn't it! HEHE Also, the size is super compact so it's nice for touch ups -- just a though, I don't actually bring a makeup bag out when I'm oot and aboot. Hehe

I know this post is a little lengthy, but I felt a bit more gung ho! HEHE  Hopefully I will do more of these kind of posts if ya'll like it! Let me know :)

Lots of love,
Amelia xo
