Kindergarten Bound

That's right, Sam has big educational plans after completing preschool, he's been accepted for enrollment at Kindergarten!  Today he graduated from preschool.  He got to dress up as what he wants to be when he grows up.  We searched through the dress up box and he was happy to be an airplane pilot!

The theme of the graduation was "Shining Stars".

Sam did such a great job singing, it melted my heart.  He knew all the words and really got into the actions.  I was beyond proud! He's expressed interest in joining the after-school choir at the elementary!

Sam really liked his teachers, Miss Sue and Miss Mele.  Even though he loved preschool, I think he is more excited to go to Kindergarten.  His summer goals include: learning to tie his shoes, read 20 minutes daily, and learn to pee standing up! We're so proud of Sam and how much he's grown and matured!

Garden Gnomes

A few weeks ago, the kids helped me plant the garden.  They did an awesome job and have taken pride in their work.  They love watching the the little sprouts pop up out of the ground.

The day after we planted, Sam and Max saw some birds in the garden and ran outside to scare them away. They then took up their hiding spot under the slide to keep watch for any other predators to their garden.

We also drew ourselves a mural.  Sam drew the bee, Mabel did the butterfly, and Max did an earthworm.  They each colored in a flower and I did the words.

We took a trip down to the Oquirh Temple one Sunday afternoon.  Nick and I got a big giggle when they were more excited about the storm drain than seeing the temple.

We stained the deck over Mother's Day weekend.  I'm so glad to have that chore out of the way.

Sam's becoming a little artist lately.  He drew this on a dry-erase board.

Max also enjoys anything involving tap or glue and especially markers.

We went to a wedding reception last week at This Is The Place Heritage Park.  It was really fun, even for the kids.  They each got a dessert and loaded up at their candy bar!

The reception also included a train ride around the park.  We'll have to take the kids back sometime to visit the whole park.

Mabel had a dance performance this weekend at the Classic Fun Center in Sandy.  It was fun to watch all the dancers.  Last year we left about half way through because the kids were anxious.  But this year Mabel was near the end of the program so we got to see a lot of dancers.

Super Hero Fun

I must say that Sam, Max and Alex have some killer Aunts!  Aunt Kristen invited them over for a Super Hero Sleepover party this weekend!  She spoiled them to pieces!

When we dropped them off, she gave them each a can of silly string and showed them where the "evil villains" were lurking.  The boys showed their super hero strength and took care of those "bad guys"!

She made them blankets, which they love, gave them balloons and other fun super hero accessories.

She helped them make bouncy balls.

They watched some super hero cartoons....Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Batman, Superman, and the Superhero Squad.....all of which the boys picked out by themselves at the library this week.

Puzzles and Books

Kristen powered-up the young supers with Mac'n'cheese with hot dogs, Cheetos, strawberries, ants on a log, and root beer.

Can you fit a whole cheeto in your mouth at once?

Testing out their "force field" powers.

Aiming and jumping over cracks are also important super hero skills.

And every Super must pamper themselves occasionally.

Super powers increase when your feet start to turn pruney.

And creative juices start to flow.

But as every Super knows, sleep is a key element in keeping up your strength.

They tested out their bouncy balls before bed.  They woke up to any boy's favorite of sweet rolls and Lucky Charms.  Kristen took them to church where they behaved really well (or so I'm told).  Max even told about when Nick gave Mabel a blessing with oil last March.  I couldn't believe that he remembered that far back.  Thanks again, Aunt Kristen for spoiling my Super Boys!  Hopefully next year, Alex with be ready to accept the responsibilities of a Super!

A Little Bit of Everything

Max is one of the most fun-loving people I know.  He is such a character and always happy-go-lucky.  Here he is playing dress up.

Mabel lost her second tooth....nearly as exciting as the first.

Nick's brother's family came into town we had a good time with them. We went to the Weber River walkway one day and spent some time throwing rocks in river....always a big hit.

Kris ran the SLC marathon.  Way to go, Kris! We went to cheer her on.

We also celebrated Mummo's birthday at the bounce house in Layton.  It was a lot of fun.

We got new neighbors in January.  They love coming over to play.  They are all really respectful and they all have a scooter, as do our kids which makes childhood fun for them.  And the swingset is a huge hit since they used to have one at their old house, but couldn't take it with them.  The other two kids are their old neighbors that the mom watches while their off track.

Mabel loves the "tricky" bar we put on this year.

Mabel had dance pictures taken this year again.  So while she was all dressed up, I snapped a few that I thought turned out cute.

Life is busy as always and I'm looking forward to summer, but I think the kids are actually looking more forward to next school year!
