4th of July in Reno

For the 4th of July this year, we went to Reno to see Nick's brother and his family.  They have recently purchased a new house and had a new baby!  It was a lot of fun to see everyone again!

On the Fourth, we went "mining" for crystals on a very steep, very sandy hill.  It was really, really hard to get up it and stay up it!

I didn't do a whole lot of good helping the kids around as I could barely get myself around!

Later that afternoon, we played in the sprinklers to cool off.

And had a few light sabor fights.

Played potato heads with cousins!   That evening we went to the Nugget and saw the fireworks.  Very Fun!

On Saturday, we went to Lake Tahoe for the day!  It is gorgeous there!

That evening, we had a marshmallow roast in the backyard and told silly stories.  The kids loved it!

And we lit a few sparklers to end the evening!  We had a really good time and the kids loved spending time with cousins!

Sam's 6th Birthday!

For Sam's birthday, he woke up with the stomach bug:(

But, he pulled through and we had a fabulous time at Lagoon!

Before we left for Lagoon, he opened a few presents.  He looks almost as green in the face as Yoda!

The following day, we invited some neighborhood friends over to play a few games.  Here, they are trying to free Hans Solo from his frozen prison!  However I think they enjoyed their light sabor duels the most!

We had a few snacks and called it good!

Yoda Watermelon, Light Sabor pretzels, Wookie Cookies, Hans Solo Rolos and Yoda Soda!

Lagoon 2013

Stake Lagoon Day fell on Sam's Birthday this year, so we decided to make the most of it!  The kids were so excited and watched every You Tube roller coaster video posted at for Lagoon.  Sam and Max just barely made the height requirements.  Infact, Max couldn't ride the rides that they were really strict on, but he got to ride almost all the big roller coasters!

Our longest line was for the log flume.  But they all loved it!

Rattlesnake Rapids was Sam's favorite!  He woke up that morning throwing up, but was fine by the time we got there!  He was a trooper!

We asked Annette and Kristen to come with us.  It was beyond nice having one adult per child especially since Alex couldn't ride the big rides.  Thanks a bunch to them for helping us out!

Mabel and Kristen rode on the Rocket.

This was at the end of the day and I think the kids heads were spinning as much as mine was by the end of the day.  They had a wonderful time and keep talking about how much fun it was!!  I guess they're ready for Disneyland!

Spring Soccer 2013

This spring, we signed Mabel, Sam, and Max up for soccer.  It was pretty busy.  With two extra practices and three games every Saturday, it kept us busy.  Nick coached Sam's team and really enjoyed it.

Sam is getting really good at soccer.   He is our most athletic and agile child.

Part of Nick's team.

This fall, we've signed the boys up for t-ball!  Games are only on Thursday and we look forward to watching them play!

June 2013

In June, Sam got out about a week before Mabel got out of School, so we boys, went to Thanksgiving Point to play!

The day Mabel got out of school, I told everyone that we were going to a "surprise" after picking her up from school.  Once we got to the splashpad (the surprise) they were all completely underwhelmed and didn't even want to play.  After a lot of coaxing, we finally got some participation in our official summer kick-off activity.

We then had to make the best use of the last week of our Thanksgiving Point membership and went a lot!  Here we are at the children's gardens.

And the Dinosaur Museum.

We made balloon rockets!

Had "campouts" in the front room.

Picnics at the park.

Summer wouldn't be complete without otter pops!

Had friends over to play!

Picked a lot of cherries!

Made Paper Mache.

And Homemade ice cream topped it all off!
