You’ll find the complete recipe coming soon from Bunny Hill, published Fall 2009.

These make the most beautiful snacks! I’m thinking I may need a jar full in my studio. Just in case company stops by, like Kendal, Brigette’s daughter! She loved these “cute little things”!

I want these yo yo's

I so want these yo yo's

We may need to have a party and serve some up! I have a feeling Kendal’s mom will be making her some very soon!

Pure, Natural, Timeless and I love it!

I love this fabric!  AU.THEN.TIC by Sweetwater and Moda Fabrics.  It’s delightful, new and so creative!

Authentic 1

And I’ll be using it this week in a new design.  I can’t wait to get started!   If I can just stop reading the fabric long enough I might get something done LOL!

Authentic 4

Just look at the fabric in the above photo.  Can’t you just see this in so many things?  I can!  I can appliqué and read at the same time.  Who could ask for more?

Authentic 5

Or how about this print?  It’s exactly how I feel when I look at it!  These words say it all!  So, so cute!

Authentic 3What’s black and white (cream) and read all over?  Au.then.tic by Sweetwater!

Authentic 2

So what do I have up my sleeve for this fabric from these two new mother/daughter Moda designers ?

Stay tuned!  You’ll have to wait to “read” my quilt!

I can tell you this…this fabric = cre.aaaa.tive fun!

Au.then.tic by Sweetwater!  Great reading!

Creating a Quilt

I'm so excited because I'm waiting for this man in the brown truck...

...to deliver a package from New York. It looks just like this and I've been tracking it for several days. It arrives here on Wednesday as long as it doesn't snow in Arizona!

I'll give you a little hint as to what's inside the box...it's red, cream and brown, it has some bunnies on it and it means I'll be able to sew up a storm! It's the advance yardage of my "Chelsea Manor" fabric from Henry Glass Fabrics! Finally I'll be able to finish up my next pattern called "Rabbits Prefer Embroidery!

As I wait for my fabric to arrive, I've put together a little presentation to show you how this all began...how "Rabbits Prefer Embroidery" and Chelsea Manor got their start...

Here's what to do; turn up your sound (it has music), set your computer to full screen for best viewing, and click on play. I've made a little slide show for you! When it finishes playing just hit the escape tab on your keyboard and you can "x" out. You'll see the quilt I'll be sewing together this week! A new pattern coming very soon from Bunny Hill Designs!

The Story of Catch a Christmas Star!

I was talking to Jennifer at http://www.shabbyfabrics.com/
today and she mentioned that she has the last of the "Catch a Christmas Star" kits on sale. Oh be still my heart because that quilt means so much to me. I hate to see the "last" of any kits, but this one especially.

Catch a Christmas Star was one of the first large applique quilts I designed and while I was working on it I got a call that my mother was in the hospital. My son and I got on a plane as fast as we could and I grabbed all the fabric and drawings to bring with me to work on. It was not meant to be, because my mom was very sick and I was told she only had a few weeks or months left. My mother loved to see the things I made and to watch me sew so she insisted I try and work. I just couldn't.

After she died, it was several months before I could work on this design. But when I did I just couldn't stop. "Catch a Christmas Star" took on a life of it's own. It filled me with joy, hope and love and every stitch was a pleasure to stitch! My mother would have loved this quilt. She always encouraged me when I colored my cows purple or did something different than other kids. She would have loved the slightly crooked tree on the bottom left. These snowmen are magical Christmas snowmen filled with happiness and love. The quilt is traveling this year so it won't be home with me. It's in France for the season. France! Can you imagine?

The inspiration for "Catch a Christmas Star" came from somewhere up above I'm sure. If you'd like to purchase a kit you can find it here on Jennifer's site.

Hugs to you all!

Angel Inspiration!

Quilts Inc has posted a notice that Quilt Market and Festival 2008 will proceed as planned. I never doubted them for a minute! If anyone can do it, they can!

I however, am not nearly as organized as they are. I need at least 8 more hours in a day in order to finish in time for quilt market. I would take 8 more hours or another month. Either one will work. It's only been 4 months since our last market so I don't think I'm asking too much LOL!

The quilt I'm designing for my angel fabric uses both applique and embroidery. Let me show you where the inspiration for one of the blocks came from! Several weeks ago, my grand-daughter Michaela, drew a little flower for me...

Pretty cute don't you think? Well, I loved it so much I turned it into...

...a block on my angel quilt! Inspired by my little angel, Michaela!

And remember that photo class I told you about in my last post? Well, our assignment was to go outside and take a photo of something we might walk past 100 times and never notice. Something that we get so used to seeing, we forget it's there. Our front yard has lots of roses that look a bit ragged right now. The flowers are still pretty, but the bushes are showing signs of getting ready for winter. I used my 50mm lens and focused on the rose. The camera must have known that the rest of the bush wasn't dressed for photos, because look at what it did!

The world through the eyes of a camera...

Hugs all! It's back to work!
