2012

Merry Christmas!

I know I haven't posted on the blog in a long time. I apologize. It sometimes seems like no one even reads my posts anyhow, so what's the point? But then I think "It's just as much for me, as it is for anyone else." I can look back at the posts years from now and relive the experiences. Kind of an online journal. :)

This has been a busy year for us. Jeff's twins moved in with us right after graduation in May. Andy had hopes of joining the Marines, but apparently changed his mind. He instead moved back to Florida. Tony was able to find a job working full time at Northwest Research. He is very happy working there, and with little financial responsibilities, he is able to start saving quite a bit of money to use for drivers ed, a cheap car, and college.

Bug and Bear are growing up way too fast, as usual. Bug is most definitely a pre-teen now and has the attitude that goes along with it. She's into boy bands, cute guys, and looking pretty. She loves to paint her nails, do her hair and find the fanciest outfits she owns. She's looking forward to her 11th birthday party, which she wants to be an all girls sleepover. :)

Bear is still a bouncy wild boy. He loves his video games, pokemon creatures, Godzilla, etc. He still loves to cuddle with his Momma though, so I wont complain. We have plans to redecorate his bedroom for his 10th birthday next summer. We're planning on a space theme and I know he'll be thrilled. He doesn't know though, so Shh. ;)

Jeff and I celebrated our 5th anniversary this year! It's hard to believe that it's been so long already. 10 years together, and 5 married. Wow. We went on a wonderful camping trip on our anniversary weekend, just the two of us. We spent the weekend in Logan canyon, and Dry Bread. We saw lots of wildlife, including 4 moose, and the Autumn colors were gorgeous. We went fishing in a couple different places, including Bear Lake. And of course we stopped at Gossner's foods and bought our favorite squeaky cheese! We had a couple small snags that weekend... The first morning we woke up and packed up to move to the next destination, only to realize that our truck battery was dead. Luckily we were able to coast down to the campground parking lot and found someone to jump start the truck. The next morning, when we woke up, it was 36 degrees out, and here we are in nothing but a tent and a couple sleeping bags. Brr! Anyhow, we made breakfast and as the day was warming up, we started to notice a lot of bees flying around. Well they apparently wanted breakfast too. They were quite determined to get it. We packed up very quickly and got out of there as fast as possible. Yikes! Luckily neither of us were stung but there had to have been hundreds of bees flying around.

This year, I started a new hobby, which is earning me a nice amount of spending money. I began doing glass etching. It's a lot of fun. So far I've only etched sports mugs, a christmas ornament and a few glasses. I did a couple large orders of the mugs for some car clubs and earned myself enough money to buy a new smartphone that I really wanted. Normally I only earn a little here and there, but it's been nice to be able to spoil myself for a change. Word is getting around, and I've been getting a pretty steady amount of orders lately.

Next year is full of plans for home improvements. A new roof, possibly new siding. Gavin's room, and hopefully some yard landscaping. I'm very excited. As I said, it's been a very busy year, and I'm sure next year will be just as full. It's a wonderful feeling. I hope everyone else has had a wonderful year as well.

Peace and Love!
