Our new family member

So after months of persistent pestering, Brittney finally convinced me to let her get a dog. We found this little guy on petfinder and adopted him from a place in Tennessee. Apparently, there are a ton of dog shelters in the south that target New England. He endured a LONG drive up from his foster home in TN and then Britt picked him up in NH.

He's a CHIWEENIE, a dachshund/chihuahua mix. He probably weighs 4-5 lbs right now and will only be 10-15 in adulthood. So far, he only has two settings: asleep and ADHD. Right now he's asleep on Britt, but only moments ago, he was bouncing all over the place. He's already a MOMMA's DOG, which is fine, because this is definitely Britt's dog.

Still trying to pick a name, so please offer any suggestions. In the runnings: "Schnitzel" (or "Shitsnel" as Britt's sister accidentally pronounced it), "Rico" (If I were single, I would DEFINITELY use this dog to pick up chicks-and it would work because he's a charmer), "Brittney's dog" (or BROG for short), "Samoa" or "Cookie" (suggested by the swarms of girl scouts who mobbed him on Sat), "Albert" (pronounced in French, after our neighborhood homeless guy in Paris).....

Asleep after a LONG day.

Doggie's first bath.
He loves shoes (another thing in common with Britt).

I just made Wiener Schnitzel for dinner tonight. Yum. And Chris, you are a good man for getting a puppy to make your wife happy. Hope the puppy training goes well!

SO cute! We are excited to meet him. I showed Emily a picture and said, "This is Brittney's new doggy." She said, "Is it real or like mine?"

Oh please don't tell my husband...he's been begging for a weenie since we got married. He looks like a real classy guy and a great addition to your family.
