A Little Black History for You

Lately I have been just short of obsessed with family history. I can now proudly say that I know all four sets of my great-great grandparents on my mom's side. Here are a few pictures that I have uncovered. I don't have pictures from all of them yet but this is just the beginning!

Christie's Baby Shower

Last weekend I went to Pleasanton for a baby shower for Brian's sister Chrisie. She's the cutest prego, you can't even tell she's pregnant!

Mariah and Friends go for a Swim

Last week, I tried to take Mariah to the beach, but we ended up leaving too late so we (Kim and Allison) decided to swim at a friend's house (Kim's in-laws) instead. It's so gorgeous, it was a nice change from all of South Pasadena's old apartments!

Mariah gets a Pedicure

I decided to paint Mariah's toenails today. I hadn't done it before, but it was so fun! She squirmed a bit but I think I did pretty good for the first time. She got her nails did!

Veronica and the Eclipse Poster

Whoa. I just saw the first piece of publicity for Eclipse tonight at the movies. Only 4 more months!

Veronica "Ronnie" Miller in "The Last Song" movie

So apparently, Miley Cyrus is going to be playing me in the new Nicholas Sparks feature, The Last Song. It's so weird, they have a character named after me! She even goes by Ronnie!! AAh, now I'm going to have to read the book to find out about this other Veronica Miller.

Veronica and the Spanish language

I have set many goals for myself this year in terms of continuing my education (just because I am out of college, it does not mean I should stop learning!). One of them is to start learning Spanish. It's practical in this day and age (and for our location).

Website for Tots: Kneebouncers

I stumbled upon this website a few weeks ago, Mariah loves it! There's this intro with a high pitch sound at the end and she always tries to mimic it, so cute! There's lots of mini games on the site, it's great to help a bored tot who doesn't want to play with her toys. I thought I would pass it along to other mothers!

Lent 2010

Lately I have been so obsessed with popcorn! I probably eat popcorn at least 3 times a week. Many people can attest, I even bring an extra bag home from the theatre so Brian and I can gorge the day after we see a movie. It's so bad in so many ways (especially for my braces!)

Valentines Day 2010

Happy Valentine's Day, well more like Valentine's week! We had lots of Valentine-sy things going on this week.

The Millers go to Disneyland

Last Thursday we went to Disneyland (why yes, we are Annual Passholders). We didn't do too many rides, we did the usual Pirates. We also checked out Indiana Jones, the petting zoo (the cleanest animals I've ever seen!), and the treehouse.

The 3rd Annual Miller Superbowl Party

This year we celebrated our 3rd Annual Superbowl Party! It was pretty great. As tradition, we served chips and queso, fried chicken, our Superbowl-designed cake, and other delicious treats.

Mariah and Kate Go to the Mall

Last week, we had a few rainy days so my friend Kim and I went to the Santa Anita Mall to let the tots run around for a little while.

Brian the Hair Guru Dyes My Hair

Wow, I didn't realize how bad your color job has gotten until I tried to straighten it. I looked like a clown! So then I went to ProBeauty of South Pasadena (like a Sally Beauty Supply, but better, they know a ton) and got some supplies so Brian could take care of it for me. He just dyed my hair back sans highlights.

New Item on My Ultimate Wishlist: "Cricut Cake"

If only....

What a gorgeous piece of technology. I would do wonders with this bad boy! It makes little cut out fondant shapes for decorating cakes. *Drools*. Too bad I don't have an extra $400 lying around.

Taylor Lautner Bet

While in the car going to Disneyland Thursday morning, Brian and I heard on the radio that it was Taylor Lautner's birthday (jailbait no more!), which led to the discussion (on my part) of how dead sexy he is. Then Brian said that he would just be a fad, like Twilight, that people would forget about him in a few years.

I beg to differ! So we made a wager. I bet Brian $20 that Taylor Lautner would be next generation of Brad Pitts and Tom Cruises, that he would be the next action/sexy-buff man/heart throb of the next five years, especially with his new action movie, Max Steel. Brian bets that he will phase out and be forgotten within the next five years, that he will crash and burn with Twilight.

I think i just made an easy $20!

Howard Stern for American Idol??

I just heard on the radio that they are considering Howard Stern to replace Simon. I don't know how I feel about that...

Mariah's New Hairstyle

Mariah's hair has been getting so long lately! So I decided to do something with it. Everyone tells me she looks like Boo from "Monster's Inc." What do you think of the new 'do?

Play Group!

This week I got to host play group at my apartment for the first time. It was so fun! And if you have never been to a play group, let me tell you a little secret: it's mostly for the moms!

We had so much fun talking and getting to know each other while all our tots ran around and played. Thanks Lisa for starting it up!

Home-made Pizza and a New Tooth Filling

It's not delivery...it's from the bread machine!

Yes it's true, our bread machine is amazing! Yesterday we made the prettiest pepperoni pizza I have ever seen (pictured), thanks to our new toy.

Our Weekend at Griffith Observatory

This weekend we went to Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles with some friends from dental school. What a cool place! It's free to visit and park there (though it was extremely difficult to find, don't listen to Google Maps, grrr). Apparently they have just finished renovating it and have put in a ton of new exhibits. We saw a fantastic video of all they did to restore the place (appropriately narrarated by Leonard Nimoy, the actor who originally played Spock.

It was so beautiful up in the hills, it's so close to the Hollywood sign. I defintely recommend this place. It would be fun to go back at night so we could look through the large telescope (also free!).
