our new addition

Our little girl decided to come a few days early. She was born Monday December 28th at 1:57 am. Her name is Hayden Lynnae Adams. She is just a tiny little girl. Her birth weight was 5 pounds 15 ounces, and she is just the cutest little thing. It was hard being in the hospital without Bailey. Luckily the hospital changed their policies and allowed siblings to come visit. Brennon's parents brought Bailey a few times to visit us. It was so wonderful to see our little girl, but painful to see her go. It is nice to be home as a family. Bailey just loves her little sister, but is a little confused with all the new changes. She misses the much one on one time that we spent together, but gets really excited when she gets to help with Hayden. We love our little girls so much. How blessed we are to have both of them with us. They make our life so much better.

updates

We have been enjoying our time together this holiday season. My sister Becky and Callie stayed with us a few days. We are so excited to have their family back in Arizona! She came to our ward and a few people thought Becky was me, and told me later that they thought that something was different about me. I was thinking minus the big belly. Everyone loved Callie's hair! She is so cute.
Our family is doing great! We can't wait for the new little girl to come! We love her so much already! Only a few more days. We are a little bummed that we won't be able to travel home to see family this year, but we are excited to spend Christmas together. Brennon is done with finals and is spending all of his free with Bailey and me. We love having him home. Bailey is a big girl and has started nursery. She has been doing such a good job, but she cries when the toys are being put away. She is so funny. We hope everyone is having a wonderful time this season!

This is the first time Bailey has ever fallen asleep while eating. She takes eating pretty seriously.

Happy Halloween

Halloween was fun this year! Bailey dressed up as a pink butterfly. The costume came with an ugly mask so we just made her some cheap antennas. On Thursday I took Bailey to the library for story time dressed in her costume. She was having a hard day. She kept giving all the little kids dirty looks. She is so funny. I just love the faces she comes up with.

On Saturday our ward had a trunk or treat. Bailey really didn't get the whole idea of asking for candy, but she loved carrying around her little pail and getting candy put inside of it. She was really fun to take around. She was just so excited.

Her favorite part was picking out a piece of candy and eating it! Yum! Happy Halloween!

Conference Weekend.

We went to Heber for conference and had so much fun! Our goal was to stay awake through all of the sessions. We did pretty good, but feel asleep a couple times. It is so much easier to stay awake when you are watching a little girl tear up grandmas house. I loved conference, and the time we were able to spend with family. After conference Brennon and I decided that we wanted to work on serving people and trying to do one good thing for someone a day. It's just so good to listen to the talks and feel motivated to do better.

Aunt Amy with Kate and Bailey! They are sooo cute! Bailey loves her cousins!

Brennon and Bailey are my buddies! I just love them so much!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Crandell Camping Trip

Our first camping trip was a blast! We got there Friday night and set up camp, had tin foil dinners, had smores and a yummy peach cobbler, and enjoyed each others company. It got a little creepy when we started talking about scary stories and legends in the woods, but my brother Rusty changed the mood by telling mission stories. I had sooo much fun with my family. The only bad thing is that Brennon was not able to come with his LSAT prep course. We missed him sooo much! Especially when it was time to go to bed! I couldn't sleep for the life of me. I was so scared that some bear or monster was going to eat us that I stayed up all night listening to the coyotes and owls. When I woke up I thought my back was going to break in half. All the fun that comes with camping!Bailey had a ton of fun! She just loved playing and eating anything off the ground. It was so fun being with my family. Next year I will be more prepared for the wild life!

Bailey's Pout

We have the silliest little girl. She has this new thing that if she doesn't get her way she gives us the saddest little face and throws her head back and cries! I just can't resist it. She even puckers up her bottom lip and frowns. She is just so dang cute, and she definitely knows how to get her way. I really need to stop giving in or else she is going to pout all day long.

boy or girl

We are sooo excited to say we are having another Girl! I was really surprised when the doctor said that we would have another baby girl! I didn't believe him at first! So he showed me on the ultrasound that we were having a girl! We are excited that Bailey will have a little sister to play with! Brennon is going to be definitely outnumbered, but words can't express how happy we are!

what we have been up to

Wow we haven't posted in a few weeks! Just wanted to let everyone know Bailey is doing great! She is our little miracle and we are grateful for everyone's thoughts and prayers! We have been up to a lot since our last post. Unfortunately, we are moving so for the past couple of weeks we have checked out apartments and condo's. After much deliberation, we are moving back out to our old apartments on Saturday. At fist we thought it would be kind of silly to move back to the same ward and apartments, but now I am very excited.

This past week we went to Snowflake for the 24th of July Celebration! It was so much fun! I love being with family and enjoying the nice weather! Bailey loves to be with all of her cousins and grandparents. We also were able to go to the Brewer family reunion while up north. It was fun seeing all of cousins that we haven't talked to in forever. I forgot the camera so we have no pictures! I took some pictures off of Carianne's blog! Thank you!

We also were able to watch our first theater movie in over a year. Rusty volunteered to come over for the night and we went and watched Harry Potter. I told Brennon I forgot how nice it was to watch movies in a theater.

So now I am packing, packing, packing, and Brennon is working, studying, and studying. He goes to ASU any second he has and studies for the LSAT. We hope he does great! He is such a hard worker and we love him so much!
Oh, and we find out Monday what we are having! I can't believe how fast this pregnancy is going!

bailey's bad day

We had a terrible Saturday. It started off really nice. We went swimming in the morning, and then Brennon left for ASU to study. Bailey and I were going to hang out at home and relax, but around 11:15 Bailey started to scream so I thought she was ready for her nap because it was 45 min past her normal nap time. So I put her in her bed and instantly I had a feeling to go back where she was playing and check the area. When I did I saw about eight baby scorpions bunched together on the floor. Three of the scorpions were smashed so we think Bailey was stung about 3 times. The scorpions were so tiny I could not spot them out at first. After seeing them there I immediately grabbed Bailey out of her bed and called Brennon.

Brennon said to call poison control and so I did. At this point Bailey is crying hysterically and I could tell that she was in a lot of pain so I put her back in her bed so I could talk to the lady. I told her what happened and she said to wait it out and she would call me back in 30 min. When I went back into the room Bailey was shaking uncontrollably, and she was no longer crying because she had so much foam and spit coming out of her mouth. She was really having trouble breathing and controlling her body. I called poison control again, and the lady on the phone immediately called the paramedics to take Bailey in the ambulance. At this time I am panicking because I can barely hold Bailey because her body is spasming, Brennon wasn't home, and I couldn't stop crying. During all this I got a hold of Brennon and he rushed home as fast as he could. He made it home about the same time the firemen came in. He immediately grabbed Bailey and waited in the door for the fireman to come. When they arrived they gave her oxygen, put some little things on her to monitor her breathing and checked her heart rate. In the meantime Brennon's sister Carli came over to check on us. I couldn't believe what was happening. Eventually the ambulance came and started to load Bailey onto a stretcher. The fireman told them that I needed to hold Bailey, but the ambulance workers said that I could not do that because they had changed their policies and it was no longer allowed. The fireman was very persistent though and said that I was going to hold Bailey and if anyone questioned it he would take the blame. The ambulance ride was fast and I was grateful that everyone was so understanding and kind to us. When we got to the hospital Bailey's symptoms had really picked up and she had to be held down by several nurses to have the IV put in her. She started sweating really bad and throwing up everywhere. While they were holding her down I was trying to fill out paperwork as fast as I could so they could release a new experimental anti-venom. Eventually they administered the drug to her and she quickly began to recover. They had to give her all five doses though because her symptoms were so bad. We later learned that she was stung by a Bark Scorpion which is the most dangerous scorpion in the U.S.

We are so blessed that I called poison control and that she sent us to the right hospital. According to what the hospital said there are only two hospitals in Arizona that administer the scorpion anti-venom. Since it is still in its experimental phases not all hospitals carry it. With it still being researched and tested we had about seven nurses overseeing and taking pages and pages of notes on what was happening. My brother Rusty came and visited us to bring us some lunch and asked the head nurse what would have happened if we didn't come to this hospital with the anti-venom, and she said all they could have done was sedated Bailey and put a breathing tube down so she wouldn't choke to death. She also said Bailey would have been in the hospital for about 2 days because her symptoms were so bad. After a lot of paper work, a crying mom, dad, baby, and 3 1/2 hours later, our poor little girl was finally asleep. I was so grateful because one of the nurses saw me staring at Bailey crying and asked if I wanted to hold her. I said I would love to, so I picked her up and sat with her.

Bailey is doing much better now. We were able to take her home around 4:00 pm. Grandma and Grandpa Adams came from Snowflake to see Bailey, and Grandma Crandell, Amy, and Ben came from Heber. It was so nice to have family there. Later Carli and Justin came and brought us dinner. We are so blessed to have such wonderful and thoughtful family members. The head nurse said that Bailey's symptoms were the worst that she has ever seen before. I am so grateful that our little girl is doing much better. It was the hardest thing for us to see our little girl go through. My heart just ached because I knew she was in so much pain. I am so grateful for all of the nurses, firemen, and doctors that took care of our angel. The nurse said in this case it could have been fatal if we didn't do anything because sometimes babies just give up breathing because it is just so hard on their little bodies.

In the end I thought of our Heavenly Father and what he must have gone through watching his Son die for us. I am so grateful for our Savior and that he looks over our family. I am grateful Bailey is home with us and she is doing great. We love her more than anything.

wicked fun!

We went to the Wicked musical last night, and it was the funnest thing ever! We had a blast! We first started our night at Sweet Tomatoes and celebrated Rusty's Birthday! Carianne even surprised Rusty with a yummy chocolate ice cream cake! Yum! Then we went to the show! I can't tell you how much Brennon and I loved it! We had no idea what the musical was about. So during intermission I was almost in tears because I didn't want Elphaba to die! She was just a misunderstood girl! I told Brennon if Wicked didn't have a happy ending I would cry! I am such a baby! The story had a great ending! And I didn't want it to end! Defying Gravity was by far my favorite song! It gave me chills! I also loved Glinda she was so dang funny! Her Popular song was also really fun to watch! I am so glad we were able to go. It was definitely worth the 6 month wait!
This picture of Ben is sooo funny! He was a little disappointed that he wouldn't be by everyone else and that Brennon, me, Amy, and him were setting on the balcony. You just got to love this kid!

4th of July Fun!

I can't tell you how much fun the 4th of July was this year in Heber. The parade was by far my favorite part. We sat by the Trujillo family and boy were they prepared! They had tons of squirt guns and gallons of water! We soaked every float that came our way! I seriously couldn't stop laughing! Ben was the funniest to watch! He would run into the middle of the road and squirt people in their face! I even told Ben that it would make my 4th of July if he squirted some girls that were dressed in red, white, and blue bikinis and he did it! It was hilarious! We even got a picture with Smokey the bear! Bailey couldn't stop staring at him!

Bailey right before the fireworks! She was so tired that she fell asleep during the firework display! The fireworks were awesome! Happy 4th of July!
