Our Baby...

What can we say? We have been keeping this a secret for far too long. About a month and a half ago we had the feeling that Amber was pregnant...well, we knew she was. Many people have asked, but we have found ways to kind of blow it off, but after visiting with the Doctor to make sure everything was okay we felt it was time to announce it.

Here is the picture from the ultrasound that we did. Amber is 11 weeks along, and her estimated due date is June 12, 2008. We are very excited. We know that it will change our lives, but we have always looked forward to this change. The only way to describe it is that we are having a "baby high." Yesterday after the appointment I felt like I was on drugs...seriously. Adrenaline kept rushing through my body as I thought about it. It is going to be a great change and we look forward to it.

CHRISTMAS!!!

Today Amber and I decided that we would put up our Christmas stuff. We knew that it wasn't even Thanksgiving yet, but we just couldn't resist. I am a sucker when it comes to Christmas. I love the feeling of a Christmas tree, stockings, and a nice cup of chocolate milk in my hand. In fact, today Amber and I had Brian over(my little bro.) and had him help us move our furniture around so we could put the tree up. When it was said and done we put on "Santa Claus is coming to town," and had a nice cup of chocolate milk to drink throughout the movie. We are nerds and we know it, but we wouldn't have it any other way.

Also, today at Church I was thinking of all the things that make Christmas special to me. I first thought of my family. I didn't realize how important my family was to me until I left the house. Now, although I can't be with them all the time, they are a great source of comfort and strength to me. The memories that I have made with them will never fade. Second, I thought of friends. First and foremost I thought of Tim. Although we don't do much together anymore, he still plays a major part in my life. In high school we were inseparable. We were, and are like brothers when we have the chance to get back together. The memories we shared, especially at Christmas, will also never fade. Last, I thought of the Savior. The very reason we celebrate this holiday. Without Him, where would we be? I thought of times in my life that I have felt His love, and known that because of Him, I would be okay. As they say, He is the reason for the season. As with my other memories, I hope that we will always remember Him, especially this Christmas.

Volleyball!!!!

This is a picture of Amber's volleyball team that they had this fall. Amanda and Jesse put the whole thing together and it was a lot of fun. We hope that Amanda doesn't mind, but we stole this picture from her(we forgot to bring a camera).

The team did really good overall. They had their ups and downs, but in the end they took second place. I believe that after the final game the team had their choice of a few prizes to choose from and they chose a shirt which they all deserved(and I think Alvin, Nelson and I deserved one too for watching the games).

I actually had a really good time going to Amber's games and watching her play. Amber used to get frustrated with me because I played on a softball league and basketball league which used to take up a lot of time so this was good "Amber time," and we had a lot of fun. I was really really impressed with Amber and how good she was. She may not be that tall and have all the skills in the world, but she plays hard and that is what really matters.

This was a video that we took a little while ago. We generally get up early(not really) on Saturday mornings and clean. I take the living room and bedroom and Amber takes the kitchen and bathroom. Well, she was in cleaning the entry way and I tried to actually take a picture of her, but when I went to shoot it, it took this video. I felt the video was much better than the picture would have been. We hope you all enjoy.

ASU Game

We are so excited that Brennon was accepted into the Accounting program at ASU! When we heard Brennon was accepted, I told him we could celebrate any way he wanted. First he wanted a Wii game, but I said he had to wait for Christmas. Next, I suggested a nice dinner and a movie, but of course Brennon decided to go to an ASU football game with the boys. I was a bit disappointed that we never went to a dinner and a movie, but I told Brennon when we get to celebrate for me that's what we will do. Brennon just smiled.

...in my defense...as all of you have read this post and seem to think it is quite funny...we did go to dinner on Friday night and hang out all night. When Amber posted that I read it at work and felt like the worst husband, but I just wanted to (with Ambers permission) set the record straight and say that we did have dinner, but no movie (although we did look online to find one that we might want to rent...with no luck). Also, she was going to go to the game, but at the last minute she decided that she had too much homework and just couldn't do both. See...I am not all bad. :)

Field Trip to Pioneer Park

We went to Pioneer Park for a school assignment.I was asked to find a location were my students could learn one of the standards in Social Studies. We really didn't want to go to a museum so we decided to go to Pioneer Park and check out the historical monuments there. I am by the water system early pioneers used to bring in water to the desert. It was really fun!

Jimmy Eat World - Chase This Light

Check this song out. This will be one of the songs off of their new CD, Chase This Light. Coming out October 16...I can't wait. I went to a few concerts this year. I tried to convince Amber to come with me, but she had a lot of other things going on. If you haven't noticed from our play list, I LOVE JIMMY EAT WORLD. I heard Static Prevails first and have been hooked since.

Zoowalk!

My Family volunteered for the 3rd annual Zoowalk for Autism. It was a big success!!! I heard that we had about 6,000 walkers/volunteers in attendance and raised about $220,000 for autism research at our event! We were so excited to be apart of such a special event. Our awesome sales at our Zoowalk table brought in $1,586.00 for research too! :)
