Cherish

Hello and always welcome to my blog, I love visitors and today I have a special layout to show you of my son Riley and my beautiful mum. I have created it for the challenge over at Scapbookit. The challenge this month is a great mood board and you have to also use the word Cherish. I love the soft colors of this challenge.

Now for my take and as you can see I chose to use the colour scheme and the bike for my inspiration.

The patterned papers I chose to use are from Kaisercrafts - Pink Gelato Collection and they are just perfect in colour for the challenge. On my background I used Prima Color Bloom Spray Mist - Cotton Candy and then Kaisercrafts Circle stencil with Viva Modellier-Creme (Texture Paste) - Lilac.

Also on the background I used Kaisercrafts Clear Stamp - Fishing Net with Distress Ink - Gathered Twigs. Gathered Twigs is also the ink I used to ink the edges of my patterned papers. The wods and phrases along with flowers are from the sticker sheet in the patterned paper range.

I love this photo of Riley and mum, but to be honest there are very few photos of mum that I don't love and treasure. Around the stencil circles I used a journal pen and also used it to draw some lines around the outside of the layout. The tabs at the photo are from the sticker sheet and I inked the edges a little to blend them in with the patterned papers.

Here and there I used some Liquid Pearls - Ballerina and Lemon Chiffon just to make some tinny little flowers. My title word and challenge requirement is Dusty Attic word chippie and I coloured it with a Copic - Rose Mist and the Glossy Accents.

I hope you have enjoyed my looking at my page for the challenge over at Scrapbookit and there is still time to join in the fun even with the end of the month coming soon. Happy crafting, thanks for the nice comment you left and please call again, I enjoyed you dropping in.

ATC - Be Happy

Hello and welcome to my blog. I would like to share with you an ATC I made for the challenge at More Than Words. To have fun with this challenge like I have you can go to the More Than Words blog and follow the link from there to their facebook or go direct to the More Than Words facebook.

The Challenge for March required me to use the word HAPPY and as you can see i have used it on my ATC - Be Happy.

Thee patterned papers I used for this card are by Couture Creations - Hearts Ease Collection. Over the top I used some fine lace mess by Ruby Rock-it. The beautiful flowers are by Green Tara and they come in a few different sizes and 11 different colours which is great.

On the lace netting I placed some chicken wire by Twiddleybitz and coloured it with Perfect Pearls - Interference Violet. I also used the Perfect Pearls on my challenge word chippie by Dusty Attic. I fussy cut the little stop watch from the patterned papers the same as I cut the fame and hour glass .

I hope you have enjoyed stopping in and having a look at my mini ATC.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment and I look forward to seeing you call in again

Day DREAM Time

Hello crafty friends and welcome as always to my blog. The page I'm posting is for my DT over at Let's Get Sketchy and what an awesome sketch the design team got to work with. I loved it and had the photo in mind as soon as I looked at it. I also love the photo of Riley that I used. It was taken a few years back when on holidays in Swan Hill, we were at the Pioneer Settlement and he sat don while I had been off taking photos and I snapped this one when coming back to him.
Below is the sketch I used and then my take on it.

I created it on a Kaisercraft patterned paper and the other patterned papers are by Prima. They had a feel of time gone by and they fitted so well with the photo.

To create my background I used a Kaisercraft clear stamp - Bubble Wrap with Ranger Archival Ink - Jet Black. I also used this ink on the edges of the patterned paper. For the splatters on the background I used Mister Huey's Colour Mist Spray - Warm Calico. I framed the photo with a cogs chippie frame and then used Distress Crackle Paint - Vintage Photo on it, when dry I used a little of the Jet Black ink on a sponge over the top. I just give it that little bit of a more aged look.

The stop watches were fussy cut from the Prima papers and I used a Sizzix Dies - Banners and Pennants Scallop for my triangles. For my title I used a dream chippie which I coloured with Distress Ink - Gathered Twigs. I did a few coats till I got it to the color I liked. The smaller words are Kaisercrafts Alpha Stickers - Dymo and I also used a little of the Gathered Twigs ink to match it in so they were not so white.

I really hope you have enjoyed popping in to see what I created for the challenge and that I have given you some inspiration. We would love to see you hop on over to the Let's Get Sketchy blog, see what the rest of the Design Team created with the same sketch. There is so much awesome takes from the girls and that you join in the fun.

Accordion Book

Hello crafty friends and welcome to my blog.
Today I would like to show you my latest creation for Meg's Garden. I have created my accordion book using the beautiful Chantilly Cream paper range. Meg says these papers have been whipped until light and fluffy. Wow is that true, they do take on that look and I just love them.

As most of you know I love to fussy cut and these beautiful papers are so elegant with lovely picture to be able to do this. Thee beautiful framed girl has been cut from the papers.
For the  small rectangular Parisian frame I chose to colour it with a brown Copic and then coated it with Glossy Accents just marking up the Accents here and there a little to give it an aged look.
The clock face comes in a pkt of 5  which is great for choosing the best size for your project, in this case I chose the small of them.
When creating for Meg's Garden you will see me using these beautiful flowers a lot. I love them and they come in such lovely colours and look delicate and real. I also love the fact that they are in a variety of sizes in the packet.
To me the Camel Coloured Jute Ribbon I have used at the sides of my cover look aged. I felt it fitted in well with papers and frame. It comes in 7 different colours.

The elegance of this beautiful period lady speaks volumes, I love it so I fussy cut it from the papers and raised it up to make it a feature on the page. The word Cherish on the left in the resin frame is also fussy cut from the papers. I have made the pocket from cardstock and cut out some tags so as I'm able to journal on the back of them.

I have used various rubons on the pages and I also used a brown Distress Ink.
Down the side on top of the journal tag pocket I used the Silver Grey Jute, such a natural looking colour which is in all this range.
I have cut the beautiful girl from the papers and placed it in the small oval Victorian Frame, again I have coloured the frame with a Copic but a slightly lighter brown as the girl looked so delicate. Over this I used a little Irresistible gold spay and rubbed it over the frame to give it a little gold fleck to make it looked aged.
The beautiful burgundy butterfly has been fussy cut from the papers along with more journal tags.

My final page I tried to show a page of elegance and beauty.  From cardstock I cut another punched another pocket for the journal tags. Across it I used Camel Mesh Ribbon which took the darkness from the pocket but the pocket allowed the mesh to stand out. The lady has been fussy cut from the papers and raised to stand out. The reason I love to fussy cut is because it adds to your choice of embellishments and a complete use of the papers.
Again cut from the papers is the elegant lady which I placed on cardstock that I have punched the edge of to match the pocket on the other side. The word adore is cut from the papers and mounted the same and finally the cute butterfly has been fussy cut too.

I hope you have enjoyed my accordion book and that I have been able to inspire you a little. Maybe even inspired you to do a little fussy cutting with these beautiful papers.

Memories are forever

Hello crafty friends and as always welcome to my blog. I would like to share with my today my latest DT creation for 123 Challenge Blog. Boy do I love these challenges - Word, Colour and Technique - now that equals fun to me. Below is the 3 requirements and don't forget you need to use all three to qualify, it's that easy.  After you have had a look at my take on the challenge please call over to the 123 Challenge Blog and see what the rest of the very talented design team have created. Join in with us as you may be the one to win this months wonderful prize.

The photo is of Riley on a beautiful Autumn day in the Botanical Gardens in Ballarat. I took so many beautiful pictures that day and I'm sure by the end he had well and truly had enough, but never once did he complain. I will always remember that day, just the two of us for hours.

I created the page on white cardstock from Kisercraft and mounted the photo on brown cardstock. For the title I used a Scrapmatts Assorted words 01 chippie and then rubons by Ruby Rock-it - The Summer House range.

Around the stenciled triangles I used a brown journal pen.

Behind the photo I used some mesh ribbon and also some gold crinkle paper. The Victorian Lamp is from Prima -  Shabby Chic Collection. These beautiful lamps are in the gardens just minus the clock.

I have just realized that I'm doing this layout a little backwards, I'm now going to tell you about my background. Ops sorry about that. For my background I used a TCW Stencil - Triangles with Distress Stain  - Rusty Hinge with a makeup sponge and then went around the edge of the triangles with a brown journal pen. I also used Distress Ink - Wild Honey on Kaisercrafts Clear Stamp - Bubble wrap.

Also on the background I used October Afternoon Sprays - Saddle, Wheat Field, Cactus, Hitching Post and Spruce Tree. I love the colour of these sprays and thought they were perfect for that Autumn look.  For the dream catcher  chippie coloured it with Distress Markers - Mustard Seed, Peeled Paint, Rusty Hinge and Vintage Paint. I then used Distress Ink - Worn Lipstick with a makeup sponge.

I hope you have enjoyed my page and I have inspired you to join in the fun at 123 Challenge Blog. Don't forget to use all the three requirements and good luck.
Happy Crafting.
