Fall Break - Last Post

I have officially taken probably something on the order of 6 times longer to post about Fall break than fall break actually was in length. And I'm not exaggerating. Well, yes I am but that's besides the point.

Point is, I have taken way to much upon myself right now, so the family journal/blog is suffering the consequences. It should have known better and not let me get so busy to start with. I'm going to see if Paige has time to flip through some photos and stuff and make some posts, because I don't.

My Senior project group is not getting as much done as we could like, and that's frustrating.

My calling at church is Ward financial clerk, and we have this years budget to settle, next years budget to project, and tithing settlement to get started on.

My only other class this semester is about Search engine optimization. It takes about one hour's worth of work per page upon the site to optimize, and that does not include time for making the page. I stupidly decided to overhaul photogent.com for this assignment. The reason that was stupid is that even though I had a plan for what I wanted to do, and a content management system now in place to help me do it quicker, I am making something like 150 pages. Most of it is new or overhauled content, not copy and past from the old site.

I am an idiot.

But http://photogent.com/ is looking nice. Go check it out. And click some links. And like it on Facebook, Google Plus, Twitter and in forum posts on your favorite websites, because my Search Engine Optimization class has made me that shallow.

Anyway, on the way home from Canada, we skipped Rexburg on account of it being the same lighting conditions. We stopped at Idaho Falls to stretch and use the restrooms at the Visitor's Center, but not really to take pictures.

We did stop by Brigham City again, though.

Fall Break Day 2 Afternoon

Edmonton Alberta is Only 3 hours away from Calgary.  They have a temple up there. I decided that we could not force the kids through another long driving day. 3 hours to Calgary, another 3 to Edmonton, and 6 back to our Motel in Cardston. So instead we drove back to our motel room in Cardston and spent the afternoon playing around the temple.

I guess I am getting old. Only three hours and I chose not to go.

Fall Break Day 2

So Why Canada?

Well we couldn't get tickets to the Brigham City Temple Open House. So we decided to go to the Calgary Temple Open House Instead.

Obviously.

Fall Break - Thursday's Last

So where did we finally stop on Thursday?

Here:

Cardston Alberta Canada,

The sunset was fantastic as we were driving in. Paige and the Kids had had enough however, so it was not quite as fantastic after checking into our motel. But still good.

Rexburg

For the first time that I can recall, I am going to apologize for my posting habits. I am rather over loaded right now, and If it falls upon me to do the posting, it just is not going to get done. I have to much else going on.

From last week, here is our third Thursday stop, just thirty minutes after the last, we stopped in Rexburg Idaho.

Idaho Falls

Second stop last Thursday on our fall Break Trip was Idaho Falls Idaho Temple.
They have a visitors center, so it was a perfect rest stop after 4 hours.

James was absolutely adamant about getting in those doors. Sorry Kiddo, your gonna have to wait a while.

First time I was ever at Idaho Falls was with my Grandma and Grandpa on Mom's side. We stopped over en route to Yellowstone. I remember that every time I see that red and white water tower in Idaho Falls.

Commision

I know someone who may occasionally want me to make some 3d model for him. He commissioned me to provide him with a printing press for a printing animation. Check out the end results.

Dallas Texas Temple

Needed Replacement

We finally got around to running a new dryer vent. For those for you who have not heard me lament the dryer vent, the previous owners installed a dryer line that was about 35 feet long, not counting elbows. 90 degree Elbows are equivalent to five feet of straight pipe. They put in 4. So my dryer vent was almost 60 feet long. It should never be longer than 25 feet.

We re routed out the front of the house. Now the line has 3 elbows and 12 feet of straight pipe. Yes, I know that's 27 feet of pipe, but it is as short as we could make it. The good news is that now I can hear the air whooshing out the vent like air out of a jet engine. And that's when I'm inside.

The other good news is that now we can dry a load in 15 minutes, as opposed to, and I am not kidding, 120 minutes.

The bad news is what the old vent pipe looked like when I pulled it out.

Pretty sure that having an inch of built up lint all the way around the inner diameter is a fire hazard. Or was that high risk for heart attack.

Maybe it was high risk for dying of heart attack when the house burned down.
