Discovery.

So, Mom and Dad took me to this place today. It was kinda cold, and there were a bunch of trees but , I didn't see what the big deal was about.

I was just wanting to go home, really.
Then I saw it:

It was like nothing I had ever seen before. I . . .
was dumbfounded.

They were everywhere.

There were all kinds, and all types.

Clearly this warranted further investigation.
I spoke with some of the locals,

But they were not forthcoming.

Some were kinda scary.
And also refused to talk.

About this time, I realized I didn't know what I was trying to find out. But every where around me there were strange things with legs.

And then things just got wierder,

And wierder,

and weirder still.

There were bearded things,

and feathered things,

Small things,

Old and slow things,

And very tall things.

There were furry things,

And cold things,

(Mommy's lap is warmer.)

Daddy said this was called a tiger,

But I'm no dummy,
Tigers look like this:
Not This:
'Bout this time, I started to get unimpressed.
Daddy chases things like this out of the garden, nothin' fancy here.

Mommy said this tree had things called "Bats" in it,
But all I saw were branches and leaves.

Daddy said it was a shame that so many animals were not on display, stuff called bears and otters, 'cuz their space was under reconstruction. Mommy said that was okay, we would come back next year to this thing . . .
called the Zoo.
