Author Interview: Kara Isaac

I have way too few guests over these days, so help me welcome author Kara Isaac to my blog today! :)

Welcome!

Thanks so much for having me, Linda!

1. First, tell me something about yourself.
I am a professional procrastinator. Hence why I'm answering these questions when I'm supposed to be writing (before this I also organized my youngest son's birthday party, cleared emails, checked Facebook, fell down a couple of internet rabbit holes and bought some birthday presents!) I live in gorgeous New Zealand, the best country in the world, and dream of one day being stranded on a dessert island with my teetering to-be-read pile.

2. And since you are from NZ I really want to know, have you ever seen a Hobbit?
I spend my nights and weekends chasing three small hobbits if that counts! :)

3. Tell me about your new book, One Thing I know.
I first dreamed up the concept for the book that became One Thing I Know way back in 2011. I was heavily pregnant with our eldest child, so pregnant that the bump made it had to reach my laptop keyboard! Since I couldn't really write I spent a lot of time conjuring "what if" scenarios and one of them was "What if a famous relationship coach was the front for someone who hadn't been on a date in years?" I dashed off the first 15 pages, entered it in a contest just to see what the judges thought of the concept and my to my surprise it semi-finaled. It was the book that landed me my agent, and it made it to publishing board at a few houses but it just wasn't the right time. So I'm thrilled that it finally is!

4. What is the best thing about writing about romance?
Knowing that you aren't going to get emails from angry readers because you killed off one of the main characters at the end :) Also knowing that even when you are making your poor characters absolutely miserable you will find a way to make things right in the end.

5. Describe Lucas and Rachel for us in a few words.
A little bit star-crossed! Independent, smart, fiercely loyal, protective.

6. And last, what are you working at at the moment?
My next book picks up the story of Lacey, one of Rachel's best friends. The hero is a secondary character from my second book, Can't Help Falling so I'm having fun with new characters and a new story while bringing some old ones back for readers to catch up with! It's due to release in early 2020.

Thank you so much Kara! :)

ABOUT ONE THING I KNOW:

She has the whole world fooled. But the one man who just may see through her holds not only the key to her success, but also her heart…

Rachel Somers is America’s #1 relationship coach—America just doesn’t know it. Rachel writes the books, but her Aunt Donna plays the face of the operation. Living in fear of their secret being exposed, Rachel has no choice but to keep up the charade or lose the big money required to care for her father. With the deadline for their next book closing in, Rachel finds herself out of inspiration and running out of time. The last thing she needs is her aunt and publicist concocting a harebrained scheme to join forces with some radio star in the hope it will help deliver the elusive next book idea.

Lucas Grant is a star of late night radio—though it’s come with an unexpected price of hoards of women who keep calling his sports show to ask him for relationship advice. They make his ratings look great, but they also mean he has to waste hours talking to people like Dr. Donna Somerville about feelings instead of his first love: football. When a big-time producer calls, it looks like his hard work is about to pay off. But the offer comes with a catch—the producer is convinced Dr. Donna is not what she seems and he wants Lucas to discover her secret. To do that, he needs to win over her tight-lipped assistant who holds the key to his success and—he begins to suspect—his heart. Can love find a way through the lies that force them apart?

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

KARA ISAAC is the RITA® Award-winning writer of five novels. She lives in New Zealand (yes, it’s really as beautiful as it looks in the movies!) where she spends her time chasing three small people, writing horribly bad first drafts, and wishing you could get Double Stuf Oreos in the South Pacific. Author Interview and giveaway: Mira Lyn Kelly

Today I have Mira Lyn Kelly over for an interview :)
And there is a chance to win her book too.

1. Tell me about yourself.
Okay, so I’m Mira Lyn Kelly… write-at-home-mom to four wild and wonderful kids and one crazy cute pup named Pluto. I’m married to my very own friends-to-lovers HEA (can you guess my favorite kind of story, lol!!??) and we all live in the middle of Minnesota (which is gorgeous. You should move here). I write the flirt, sizzle and fun and have a new book--THE WEDDING DATE BARGAIN-- out June 6th. YAY!!

2. Tell me about your new book.
THE WEDDING DATE BARGAIN is the second stand-alone book in the Wedding Date Series, and let me assure you, it’s bringing back all the hottest, sizzle and swoon-worthy best men Chicago has on offer!

Max Brandt is a good guy with a few bad-boy habits he was determined to protect Sarah from when they met in college. But when he finds her back in town on business, he figures they’ve both got enough experience so the old rules won’t apply.

Not quite.

Workaholic Sarah is through playing by other people’s rules and while she’d wanted “it all” from Max eight years ago, now there’s only one thing she’s after: the demise of her pesky virginity. And her best bet in making that happen is to pretend like it doesn’t exist. After all, she reads books and watches movies — how hard can it be to fake a little sexual savvy?

Harder than she thinks.

It doesn’t take Max long to figure out that he’s being played. But the thing about Sarah Cole is … she’s even harder to resist now than she was the first time around.

3. What was the inspiration behind this book?
I was flipping through Pinterest and saw this gorgeous picture of a bride riding on the back of a motorcycle. I’d had a pretty good idea of the kind of characters Max and Sarah were going to be already. He’s this big over protective guy and she’s this good girl who’s been dying for a bit of bad. One look at this snap and I could just see her standing there on the sidewalk watching as the bike pulled up to the church…imagining what it would be like to be that girl on the back. It was the scene I needed to really show me who these two were and I built from there.

4. What are you working on now?
I’m just finishing up the fourth Wedding Date book in the series now, and having the best time getting Brody a happily ever after that measures up to what he’s been watching with all his friends. Love these guys!!

Thank you!

Author Interview and giveaway: Paige Taylor

Today's guest is Paige Taylor- Welcome!
And you can win one of her books too :)

1. Tell me about yourself
Hi, Paige Tyler here. I’m a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of sexy, romantic suspense and paranormal romantic suspense. I live with my very own military hero (aka my hubby/writing partner) on the beautiful Florida coast with our adorable fur baby (aka our dog). I’m currently writing four different on-going series: X-OPS, Special Wolf Alpha Team (SWAT), SEALs of Coronado, and Dallas Fire & Rescue. My books feature hunky alpha males and the kick-butt heroines who fall in love with them. They’re full of action, suspense, danger, and steamy romance, of course.

2. Tell me about your new book
A STORM IS BREWING…
Remy Boudreaux is back in his hometown, New Orleans. He's there with three of his fellow Dallas SWAT officers for a week of training with the NOLA PD. On the eve of a tropical storm, Remy and his buddies prowl the French Quarter. One tantalizing scent captures Remy's senses, forcing him to follow until he is face to face with Triana Bellamy—his beautiful high school crush.

After reconnecting, Remy and Triana are close—very. Remy struggles to keep things casual. Ever since his partner—and first love—was killed on the job, he's kept women at a distance.

But when a mysterious wolf pendant ropes them both into danger, Remy's protective instincts kick in. He may have to reveal his true self...and hope Triana accepts him.

3. What makes this genre so interesting to write?
As many of my fans know, my hubby and I write together, with each of us lending our different strengths to the process. In the case of the Special Wolf Alpha Team (SWAT) Series, we both get to play with material that we love. I get the joy of writing a romance story between amazing alpha werewolf heroes and their kick-butt heroines in a suspense environment, while hubby gets to play with the werewolf mythology and high-energy, fast-paced action sequences. It makes for amazing stories that people love to read and we love to write.

4.  What makes Remy and Triana so great together?
Remy and Triana grew up together as teens in New Orleans. Yes, they were definitely crushing on each other even back then, but they were good friends and neither one wanted to screw up that friendship. It also didn’t help that they were young and inexperienced when it came to talking to each about stuff like this. But when Remy comes back to New Orleans for training with some of his SWAT team members and runs into Triana again, they discover the chemistry that had started to develop when they were younger had only grown over time. In fact, things are ready to combust the second they meet!

5. What are you working on now?
I try to keep a lot of plates spinning at the same time. Right now we’re working on Book 8 of our X-OPS Series and Book 4 of our SEALs of Coronado Series. We also just launched the next set of books in our Dallas Fire & Rescue Kindle World.

Author Interview and Giveaway: Margaret Brownley

Today I have an interview with Margaret Brownley.
Welcome!
And be sure to check out the giveaway at the end

Tell me about yourself
I was always a storyteller and was constantly in trouble as a child for making up stories. The writer part was hard to acknowledge, partly because English was my least favorite subject.

I might have spent the rest of my life scribbling in notebooks and writing long amusing notes to my kids’ teachers had I not “volunteered” to edit my church newsletter. After I made the church picnic read like a Grisham novel, my former preacher took me aside and said, “Maybe God’s calling you to write fiction.” Until that moment, I never had the courage to follow my dreams.

On the personal side: I like to travel, think up reasons not to cook and spend

time with my grandkiddies.

Tell me about your new book
The story takes place in Two-Time, Texas in 1882.  In the first book of the series, Left at the Altar, we learn about the feud that gave the town its name.  We also meet the three Lockwood sisters.  A Match Made in Texas is the middle sister, Amanda’s, story.

What makes westerns so interesting to write?
I love writing about the old west.  That was when men were men and women were women but, as the old song goes, a cowboy wasn’t a cowboy unless he was wild, woolly and full of fleas.  Of course, the heroes I write about are more likely to be tall, dark and handsome.  I’m also fascinated by how the westward movement affected women and forced them to reinvent themselves to survive and even flourish.

Tell us about Amanda. About her being sheriff and all
I do believe that Amanda is my favorite character. Her father said she came out of the womb demanding equal rights.  She truly believes that a woman can do anything she sets her mind to and is out to prove it. But then she becomes the sheriff, she is tested like never, before. How can a woman who’s never fired a gun and can’t even resist the charms of her handsome prisoner, clean up the crime-ridden town?

What are you working on now?
I’m working on a new series called Shotgun Brides.  The first book, Stop the Wedding will be out next year.

Pub Date: June 6, 2017
ISBN: 9781492608165

Welcome to Two-Time Texas:
Where tempers burn hot
Love runs deep
And a single woman can change the course of history:
There’s a new sheriff in town.

Amanda Lockwood gets more than she bargained for when she’s elected Two-Time Texas’s first female sheriff. Anxious to prove herself, she sets out to stop crime in its tracks—taking down wanted man Rick Barrett in the process. But there’s something special about the charming outlaw. Common sense says he must be guilty…but her heart keeps telling her otherwise.

So what’s a sheriff to do? Gather an all-female posse and ride to save the day.

Things sure don’t look good for Rick. If he doesn’t convince the pretty sheriff to let him go, he’ll soon be pushing up daisies. But his plan to woo her to his side backfires when he’s the one who falls head over heels. Now he must choose between freedom or saving the woman he loves…and the clock is ticking.

Who knew A Match Made in Texas could be such sweet, clean, madcap fun?

New York Times and CBA best-selling author MARGARET BROWNLEY has penned nearly forty novels and novellas. Her books have won numerous awards, including Readers' Choice and Award of Excellence. She's a former Romance Writers of American RITA® finalist and has written for a TV soap.  She is currently working on a new series.  Not bad for someone who flunked eighth grade English.  Just don't ask her to diagram a sentence.

She blushed, but refused to back down. The man didn’t mince words and neither would she. “Well, is it?”
Safe as you want it to be,” he said finally.

Author Interview and Giveaway: Kari Lynn Dell

Today's interview is with Kari Lynn Dell. And you can win her new book at the end :)

Welcome!

1. Tell me about yourself.

I am really good at falling down. This might seem like an odd life skill to brag about, but living on a northern Montana ranch littered with gopher holes and rocks and frozen cow turds, it saves my butt almost every day. Literally.

And this time of year, in addition to all of the usual hazards, there is ice.

We live in a zone along the east slope of the Rocky Mountains known as chinook country. A chinook is a mass of warm air that rolls in on the heels of bitter cold, sending temperatures shooting up twenty, forty or even sixty degrees, from minus twenty to the mid-forties within a few hours. Chinooks are wonderful. The air turns balmy, our smiles turn sunny, and snow begins to melt, sending water running in streams and sheets around our yard and barns.

And then it freezes. Instead of trudging through knee deep snow, we’re now skidding and slipping on solid ice, which is often conveniently disguised by the inch or two of new snow that has fallen since the last chinook. Every step is adventure. Will I slip, trip or have one foot suddenly drop out from under me into a hidden hole? Or a combination of all three?

Thanks to long and frequent practice, I’ve learned to fall with…well, maybe not style, but enough resignation to just go limp and crumple, as opposed to stiffening up and being body-slammed. And luckily, everywhere I go I have my first aid squad on hand to administer an immediate resuscitative face-licking. (photo)

2. Tell us about this book:

Tangled in Texas is a comeback story in every sense of the word. Delon is fighting to make a physical comeback from a potentially career-ending injury. Tori is struggling through the emotional comeback after her husband’s sudden death. She fled the Texas Panhandle for Wyoming and obscurity, but circumstances have forced her to come back and once again face the harsh scrutiny and crushing expectations of being a Patterson, the richest family in the Panhandle. With his rodeo career in jeopardy, Delon has come back to the family trucking business to try to find his place there, beside his bitter, estranged brother. Tori is the one physical therapist who might be able to help Delon make his rodeo comeback—six years after the disastrous end of their scorching affair. Can their love make a comeback too? Or do two such damaged halves have too little trust left to make a whole?

3. What was the inspiration behind this book?

It all started with George Strait’s I Can Still Make Cheyenne playing on the pickup radio while we were driving to a rodeo. If you’re not familiar, it’s about a cowboy who has been dropping in and out of the woman’s life, not even bothering to call her between pitstops as he traveled the country pursuing his rodeo dream. With nothing but the monotony of the Eastern Washington plains to distract me, I began to wonder—what kind of man would treat a woman that way, and what kind of woman would let him? And what would happen if, several years older and wiser, they meet up again after life has knocked them around some? Thus, Delon and Tori were born.

4. Tell us 3 things about Delon? :)

Of all the characters I’ve written, Delon is more me than any other. He grew up in a family that is very stoic and lousy at showing their feelings (it’s not a coincidence that I’m not a hugger), but will always have your back. By most measures he’s had a successful rodeo career, but he’s never been that dominate force we all secretly dream of being, even while we pretend to be all about consistency. And I gave him my taste in music. I start every week with Metallica Monday from a hard rock station out of southern Canada, but I love Texas indie country music too. And of course, George Strait.

Oh, yeah. I also have a shiny new blood red Dodge Charger parked out in front of the house. I blame it entirely on Delon.

5. What are you working on now?

I just finished the copyedits for the third book in the series, Tougher in Texas, which stars Shawnee Pickett and Cole Jacobs and comes out August 1, 2017. And I am engaged in hand-to-hand combat with the fourth book in the Texas Rodeo series (due spring 2018), currently known as This Damn Book, which at some point is the working title for everything I write. This one stars Wyatt, the best friend of the hero of the first book, Reckless in Texas, and Melanie, the lifetime BFF of the heroine of the same book, which makes things complicated right off the bat. As one character points out, “You two hooking up would be like dating your best friend’s sister.”

Toss in the intense physical attraction they’ve made a pact to ignore because—inconvenient friendships aside—in every other way they just flat-out rub each other wrong; Melanie’s trouble-making brother; Wyatt’s rundown whorehouse turned bar; and give them a good stir when Wyatt, ever the savior, offers Melanie a job in Oregon after she loses her legendary temper and causes a scandal so big she has to get the heck out of Texas.

Then wait for the explosion.

Thank you!

Title: Tangled in Texas
Series: Texas Rodeo, #2
Author: Kari Lynn Dell
Pub Date: February 7, 2017
ISBN: 9781492631972

It took 32 seconds to end his career.
But it only took 1 to change his life.

Thirty-two seconds. That’s how long it took for Delon Sanchez’s life to end. One minute he was the best bronc rider in the Panhandle and the next he was nothing. Knee shattered, future in question, all he can do is pull together the pieces…and wonder what cruel trick of fate has thrown him into the path of his ex, the oh-so-perfect Tori Patterson.

Tori’s come home after her husband’s death, intent on escaping the public eye. It’s just her luck that Delon limps into her physical therapy office, desperate for help. All hard-packed muscle and dark-eyed temptation, he’s never been anything but a bad idea. And yet, seeing him again, Tori can’t remember what made her choose foolish pride over love…or why, with this second, final chance to right old wrongs, the smartest choice would be to run from this gorgeous rodeo boy as fast as her boots can take her.

Kari Lynn Dell is a ranch-raised Montana cowgirl who attended her first rodeo at two weeks old and has existed in a state of horse-induced poverty ever since. She lives on the Blackfeet Reservation in her parents' bunkhouse along with her husband, her son, and Max the Cowdog, with a tipi on her lawn, Glacier National Park on her doorstep and Canada within spitting distance. Her debut novel, The Long Ride Home, was published in 2015. She also writes a ranch and rodeo humor column for several regional newspapers and a national agricultural publication.

Interview and Giveaway: Christy English

Today I have author Christy English over for an interview.
Welcome!

1. Tell me about yourself.

I am woman who has spent her entire life dreaming. I used to do a lot of theatre, and acting is dreaming on your feet with a script in hand. Creating a character and finding out how she thinks and what she wants and where her heart’s desire is…that is so much fun. And now I do that in my novels, except that I get to see into the minds and hearts of a lot of different characters and spend time with them. You have to love your book family, because you write multiple drafts and then you revise even more as you take notes from editors, copy editors, and proof readers. Love the world that your book creates because you’ll be living there awhile.

When I’m not writing, I like to drink hot tea with milk and sugar. I like to take walks in the beautiful green mountain country I call home. I love to have dinner with my friends and sit and cuddle with my honey. My life is simple, but beautifully simple. I am well aware that I am blessed, and I am grateful.

2. Tell me about this new book?

In HOW TO TRAIN YOUR HIGHLANDER, Mary Elizabeth, the sword-wielding, knife throwing hoyden of books one and two, finally meets her match in Harry Percy, Duke of Northumberland. Mary Elizabeth does not put her sword down when she falls in love, and she keeps wearing all of her knives, but Harry is the kind of man who is not put off by a strong woman. He falls in love with her fire and her pure heart, and she falls in love with him. True love doesn’t run perfectly smooth, because she has a lot of issues she has to work out before she can marry him, both with herself and her family, but the love between Mary Elizabeth and Harry is real from page one. Of course, the thing that helps Harry the most in his courtship is that Mary has no idea he’s a duke.

3. How about some inside info on Mary?

Mary Elizabeth likes to hunt and fish and walk for miles on her father’s lands, alone or with her da. She would be perfectly content to live out her life in the glen she was born in, and never leave it. But in HIGHLANDER, she begins to see that as much as she loves her home, there is something more to life than mere contentment, which is a kind of sleep. She meets Harry and wakes up in a hurry, and begins to discover the joy that comes with love. Mary Elizabeth is a joy-filled woman, so she takes to love like a salmon to its home river.

4. What makes our hero tick?
Harry has been alone all his life. He was estranged from his father and he was never truly one of the fellows at Eton or at Cambridge, because to be a duke is to be a sort of prince, and that sets a man apart. He has one friend, Clive, but other than Clive and his mother, no one truly knows Harry and he has learned to live with that. Until he meets Mary Elizabeth, and the walled cage he was living in cracks open, and the sunlight comes in.

Thank you!

Author Interview and Giveaway: Michele Summers

Today I have an interview with Michele Summers, and at the end there is a chance to win her new book.
  1. Tell me about yourself:
I enjoy writing smart romances with spunky heroines, witty heroes and wacky characters, along with a satisfying happily ever after. Amazingly, I’ve won numerous awards for my writing, which makes me so happy. When not writing, I love my career as an interior designer and work with clients in NC and Miami where I lived for over 20 years. These days I stay busy herding my college freshman and high school sophomore and spend a lot of time watching them compete in tennis.

  1. And what about your new book?
Katie McKnight loves her job. Not really. But Katie loves her dad and this job means everything to him. Which is why she's scouting for the perfect house to film a mini-series…and that house happens to be in Harmony, NC. Now if only Katie can convince the grouchy, disheveled but totally hunky owner his home is perfect for the next teen craze, she’ll be in business.

Bestselling author, Vance Kerner has lost his mind along with his loafers and the notes to his next novel, under all the dirty dishes in his kitchen. Since babysitting his brother’s three kids, he hasn’t found a moments peace. So when California Katie knocks on his door, Vance doesn’t ask questions. He simply yanks her inside and puts her in charge.

Katie agrees to babysit, if Vance allows the film crew access to his property. Vance agrees to keep an open mind for the peace he needs to write.

But having Katie underfoot is anything but peaceful. And Vance is finding less and less time to write and more and more time to watch Katie weave a lovely spell on all the Kerners...especially him.

Can these two opposites find a common ground and the love they both deserve?

  1. What was the most fun part about writing this book?
The most fun for me was writing about the 3 kids. Between my active son and daughter and twenty-two nieces and nephews, I had plenty of antics to pull from. I could’ve filled the pages with crazy kid stories, but had to stick to the topic at hand: romance!

  1. Who is your favorite hero in the series?
VANCE! Seriously, I’m still in love with him and I finished his story a long time ago, but for some reason he stays with me. He strikes the perfect balance between badass and kind-hearted. Vance Kerner is totally my book boyfriend.

Thank you!

HE’S GOT SOMETHING SHE WANTS

When Katie McKnight gets lost location-scouting for her father’s TV studio, she stumbles upon the perfect setting for their angsty new teen vampire series—a remote barn house unfortunately occupied by a grouchy, disheveled, and incredibly sexy man who instantly mistakes her for the new nanny. Should Katie tell him the truth, or get her foot in the door?

SHE’S GOT EVERYTHING HE NEEDS

Bestselling author Vance Kerner doesn’t just have writer’s block—he’s been run ragged ever since he was saddled with taking care of his brother’s three kids, an adopted kitten, and a runaway mutt. The last thing he needs is a teen drama defiling his property, but with fascinating and unconventional Katie underfoot charming the entire Kerner household, Vance is finding it harder and harder to say no.

MICHELE SUMMERS writes about small-town life with a Southern flair, and has her own interior design business in Raleigh, North Carolina, and Miami, Florida. Both professions feed her creative appetite and provide a daily dose of humor.

Author Interview and Giveway: Kasey Lane

Today's interview is with Kasey Lane, and do not miss the giveaway at the end.

1. Tell me about yourself.
I live in rural Southern Oregon with my husband and two kids. We share property with my parents on the Applegate River. I’m originally from more urban California. I’m an old school entrepreneur and handle the marketing for a manufacturing company that I helped found. I still have a bit of a punk rock heart and I think that kind of shows up in my writing.

2 And your new book?
My new book, Beautiful Crazy, is an opposites attract story about two competing music marketing consultants that are going after the same band. They have to win the contract for different reasons. They also have to TRY and ignore their over the top chemistry. I love stories about opposites…probably because I feel like it’s a little bit like my own love story with my husband.

3. Since this is a music book, tell me about your taste in music.
My friends would probably tell you I'm music snob, but I think my taste in music is eclectic. Right now I’m really into electroswing, but I love everything from old school Metallica to classic Elvis to some EDM like Parov Stellar and Flume. I grew up in the late 80s in the SF Bay Area. I was lucky enough to see a lot of awesome punk rock and new wave bands locally. And now my husband and our friends still go shows…sometimes with our kids and sometimes without. Just this year we've seen Getter several times (he's my good friend's son), Hunter Hayes, Diana Ross, Kaycee Musgraves, Pat Benatar, Hollywood Vampires, Purity Ring, and a bunch of local bands.

4. Tell us more about the hero .
Mason is very alpha and pretty much used to an easy life where everything just sort of goes his way. We meet him when he’s a pretty big hitch in his career (which is pretty much his life) and is reeling a bit. Then Kevan comes into the picture and just completely rocks his world. It was fun to to bring the big bad handsome man to knees a little. Well, as much as I could with such a strong willed character.

5 And the heroine?
Kevan seems like she’s all pretty face and pinup style, but there’s a lot going on under her perfect makeup. She’s very clever and the stakes are pretty high for her to get what she wants. She’s also a bit more damaged and really mistrusts Mason from the get go. I really love her character, her kindness wrapped up in this quirky shell.

6. What are you working on right now?
Right now I'm finishing up book 3 in the Rock 'n' Ink series, Beautiful Wreck. It's Bowen's (the heroine of Beautiful Crazy's brother) story.

Thank you!

“You confound me. You’re all these maddening contradictions that don’t make any sense… And I can’t get enough of your special brand of beautiful crazy.”

She’s a rocker with attitude and ink…
He’s a sexy suit who gets what he wants

Kevan Landry is trying to keep her life on track and her brother in rehab. If her fledgling marketing firm can sign the hot new band, Manix Curse, it will make a world of difference. Mason Dillon heads the most successful music PR firm in Portland. He’s desperate to breathe new life into the company by signing Manix Curse.

The last thing either one needs is a one-night stand with a smoldering stranger…

The stakes are high when a battle for the band—in the bedroom and the boardroom—becomes a battle of the heart. But if these two can set aside their differences, they may find they’re the right mix of sexy savvy to conquer both their worlds.

Award-winning debut author KASEY LANE writes sexy romances featuring music, hot guys with ink, kick-ass women, and always a happily ever after. A California transplant, she lives with her high school crush turned husband, two smart but devilish kids, two Papillons, three cats, and several chickens in the lush Oregon forest.

Interview and Giveaway: Margaret Brownley

Today I have Margaret Brownley over for an interview, and there is a giveaway too :)
Welcome!

Tell me about yourself
My husband and I have three grown children and six grandchildren and we make our home in Southern California. Some think I’m a terrific cook (probably because I raised a chef) but I’m only so-so at best. I love traveling and have been to all fifty states. As a writer, I write by the seat of my pants—no outline, nothing. No one’s more surprised at the way my books end than I am. Come to think of it, since I don’t plan in advance, even dinner is a surprise.

And your new book?
Left at the Altar is the first book in my A Match Made in Texas series. As the title suggests, Meg Lockwood is left at the altar by her erstwhile fiancé. The marriage was supposed to unite two feuding families, so not only is the jilted bride affected, but the entire town.

The book takes place in 1880 when time was often determined by the town jeweler. Unfortunately, Two-Time, Texas has two feuding jewelers who both insist that they alone have the right time. This causes all sorts of trouble for the town. Can you imagine trying to figure out when stores open and when to go to church or school? Talk about a divided town!

What makes the West to fun to write about?
I love writing about the old west.  That was when men were men and women were women, but a cowboy wasn’t a cowboy unless he was wild, woolly and full of fleas.  Of course the heroes I write about are more likely to be tall, dark and handsome.
Today’s language seems rather dull compared to the colorful expressions and words of yesteryear.  Can you think of more mouth-pleasing words than hornswoggle, caboodle or skedaddle?  Or what about fiddlefooted, ranktankerous, rumbumptious or splendiferous? A latte may be the haute cuisine of coffee, but give me an Arbuckle’s any day.

Tell us more about the hero
No sooner does Boston Lawyer Grant Garrison arrive in Two-Time, Texas when he finds himself in the midst of the town feud. His first mistake is defending Meg’s erstwhile groom against a breach-of-promise suit. His second mistake is falling for the plaintiff.

And the heroine?
Meg Lockwood is one of three sisters. The books opens on her wedding day which turns out to be the most miserable day of her life. Can you imagine the embarrassment of being left at the altar? All she wants to do is hide, but when her father files a breach-of-promise suit on her behalf, escape becomes impossible.

Thank you!

Welcome to Two-Time Texas:
Where tempers burn hot
Love runs deep
And a single marriage can unite a feuding town
or tear it apart for good

In the wild and untamed West, time is set by the local jeweler…but Two-Time Texas has two: two feuding jewelers and two wildly conflicting time zones. Meg Lockwood’s marriage was supposed to unite the families and finally bring peace. But when she’s left at the altar by her no-good fiancé, Meg’s dreams of dragging her quarrelsome neighbors into a ceasefire are dashed.

No wedding bells? No one-time town.

Hired to defend the groom against a breach of promise lawsuit, Grant Garrison quickly realizes that the only thing worse than small-town trouble is falling for the jilted bride. But there’s something about Meg’s sweet smile and determined grit that draws him in…even as the whole crazy town seems set on keeping them apart.

Who knew being Left at the Altar could be such sweet, clean, madcap fun?
