New Recruit

Yes folks it is true, Eric Smith has decided to pursue his life long dream and play for the University of Iowa football team. His decision to return to the grid iron was influenced heavy on the fact he never wanted to leave Iowa City and to become a local hero there. He asked me Sunday if I wanted to watch a Iowa baseball game with him but he wanted me to go more for support for the first practice of his new life. We were sitting in the stands getting ready for the start of the game when I noticed some of the football players walking to the practice field. I said to Eric, "Oh my there is the football team," which he then stood up and said, "I must tell you now that I am on that football team and I must go to pracitce." I sat in awe and amaszement of how close I just was to the next Iowa football superstar. His plan is to return kicks then hopefully enter the back field and play some wide out now and again. But with his arm I'm sure he is a lock at quarterback(he won't admit he's good but he is). I hope I can score some free tickets from him. We all knew this kid had potential but what we didn't know was how good of a football player he really is.

I'm In Trouble

It's 3:18 in the mornind and I am supposed to fly with Schmooke to Sioux Falls SD out of Iowa City then drive a truck back to Iowa City for a friend, alone. I am going to be so tired. It's a two hour flight but a six hour drive. Man this maybe the first time I pull over to take a nap. One hour of sleep, ain't good.

This is the best news I have heard all week. ESPN's Andy Katz is reporting that Bob Bowlsby has granted Steve Alford permission to meet with Mizzou's athletic director. Consider him gone!

So, now that Northern Iowa's coach got scooped up by Iowa State who's left?

Fred Exploded

As you can see Fred from down the hall from me had too much to eat last Monday at the Old Country Buffet. We went together to out eat all of the fat senior citizens who went to eat two days worth of food. I had some delicious roast beef, a mountian of mashed potatoes topped with tator tots along with a hearty helping of gravy. Fred on the other hand said he was going to have one of everything, which he did. He started out with the fried chicken then went on to the pizza, ham, roast beef, potatoes(tator tots, fries, mashed, baked and garlic) and what he called the best salsbury steak ever. After eating the main course he sat for five minute then said, "I've gotta get some ice cream." So off he went to the ice cream machine. I was only expecting him to come back with a dish of ice cream since he ate so much but no, he came back with a bowl full of ice cream another plate with brownies and also had one of the workers carry back two plates one with a piece of rubarb pie and the other with lemon pie. Fred was acting fine when we got back to the apartment when all of a sudden he jumped up and started screaming, ahahahahah, really loud then exploded. A piece of roast beef landed on my face and all I could do was laugh even though I knew Fred had died from eating so much. I will always remember that night and refuse to eat at Old Country Buffet because I now believe they are trying to make people over eat to explode and die.

Fart, Stink, Smell Gonzaga

Yeah these are guys are good they will go far in the tourny. I watched thier game last night and the championship game tonight and decided that I do not like Gonzaga. Play in a real conference, and we will see how good you really are in the NCAA tourny especially when you had trouble beating San Juan School of the Arts and PNU school in your conference. Somebody please shoot me.
