I'm back from a holiday in Spain, feeling rejuvenated, energetic and motivated...but also determined to take regular breaks to disconnect and relax and in the long run be more productive, I hope!
Now's the perfect time for summer giveaway!

• To enter, just leave a comment and tell me what you do to relax, I'd love to hear. Don't forget to leave an e-mail address where I can contact you should you win, and your preference for brooch or ornament!
• Or, you can become a fan and leave a message on facebook:

Featured!

So today my love bird pillows were featured, along with a lot of other beautiful birds, on the blog at foundhandmade! They are right under Miss Butler's heart ornaments. Miss Butler is one of my favorites! There are so many cute birdies and hearts and now I've discovered another handmade site!

handmade ornaments

I'll admit we have a fake tree. We've had it for about fifteen years; it was bought for our daughter's first Christmas. However, I can proudly say that almost all of our ornaments and decorations are handmade. By me, by the kids, at school (some of their best work was done in kindergarden) at home on rainy days. We get them out each year and decorate our home. Here are a few of our favorites.

Camille made a skinny Santa marionette with movable limbs. Achilles made the Rudolph sculpture, next to which is a shiny gold box of candies (long since eaten!) We made the ceramic ornaments using slabs of clay and cookie cutters, engobes and copper oxide for the metallic effect. Camille and Achilles still make beautiful things, but I love the charm of the decorations they made when they were little!
