So one of my two hamsters passed away today.
I'm not very upset maybe cos' I already knew his time was round the corner anyway.
He sort of lived up to his full lifespan so for that I'm glad.
Little Smirnoffski was given to me on my 21st birthday and I'll never forget how adorable he was together with his brother, though I had to separate them very soon after cos' they were seriously injuring each other due to territorial reasons.
Sorry for dropping you once or twice while holding you. (though roborovski hamsters have the tendency to dislike being handled, but yea, it's still my fault for not being extra careful.)
Thank you for gradually being willing to eat out of my hand. You were so brave unlike your timid brother, and fiesty too! You would chomp down on my finger cos' it smelled like food but it was alright, I got used to your bites.
Hope there's lots of sunflower seeds and delicious treats for you to indulge in up there in hamster paradise.
Just found out about the passing of my friend's sheltie.
I just read her blog post about it and it made me cry my eyes out.
I know it's not even my dog, and I never even met it before, but it really hit me on a raw nerve.
While reading her blog post, images of Belle kept flashing through my head, and it hurts cos' it felt like I was reading the blog post I would've written if "anything" happened to Belle.
I should be happy and grateful that I can go home later and see my dearest little one greet me at the door.
Though I dread the worse more than anything and know very well that the running of time is inevitable, it is never too late to cherish your loved one.
So if you have a pet dog, or any pet for that matter, cherish every moment you have with it because it spends its entire life loving you, so you should do the same.
So i parked my car in a lot in the ADM carpark, and just when i was about to turn off the engine, I heard someone knock on the side of the car door. I looked over to my left and saw an uncle.
I was like what the hell does he want? Did i accidentally hit his car or what.
I got out of the car and and asked "yes?"
He gestured to the space between his car and mine and said "can you offset your car a abit? How you expect me to get into my car? Unless you want me to bang your car door."
WTF?? WTF??? WTFFFFFFF????
If you want me to move my car, you could've been more polite and not sound so condescending with the "bang your car door" shit.
I was seriously so friggin' angry. I looked at the space between our cars and kns, got more than enough space for him to squat there and change his tyres man!
And in case if you're wondering maybe I really parked too close to his car, NO I DID NOT!
I was in the centre of my parking lot. I wasn't even at the edge of the box or something.
So my response was a very sarcastic "OKAYYYYYYYY..." (rolls eyes)
and just before I got into the car I justified myself by saying "BUT I'M IN THE LOT ALREADY!"
He just looked at me like he's stupid or what, and said "can you move more to the middle?"
Middle your head la. I'm ALREADY IN THE MIDDLE OF THE LOT.
But whatever la, no point arguing with this dumbass uncle.
So I shifted the car to the extreme right of my lot and gave him hell a lot of space just to troll him.
Now he can friggin' do a split with that space.
As if I really didn't park properly and I'm SUPPOSED to realize that it's my fault,
he didn't even say thank you for moving my car or apologize for the trouble.
My mom finally upgraded her phone's plan to a Data Plan! Which means she can finally have 3G on the go.
My mom's not a techie, so for her previous phone, in her own words she "wanted a phone that can call and message". She didn't know exactly she was asking for until she realised that she couldn't send mms with her and neither could she receive them.
So back to the main point, my mom finally hopped onto the smartphone bandwagon and got herself a Sony Xperia S.
To be honest, when she first showed me the phone, I was a little skeptical cos' most people out there are either using an iPhone or a Galaxy S/S2. But apparently, this phone is pretty new in the smartphone market and it looks pretty slick.
After playing around with it, I've concluded that the display screen owns the iPhone 4S. It's freaking gorgeous and not to mention, HUGE! The colours are so crisp and sharp, and yes, it's High-def!
The camera is 12 megapixels! Wow!
And it has a 3D camera! Yes, 3D! But u can only view the 3D-ness of your photos if you link it to a 3D televison. So it's redundant for my family's case cos' we don't own a 3D TV.
Anyway, the only thing i disliked about it is the cluttered homepage, there are too many pre-installed apps (they call it widget in android phones), and that you cannot run applications in the background, unlike the iPhone.
I helped my mom transfer all her photos from her old phone to her new one which took a LONG time to figure out.
My mom doesn't understand the terms I use to explain to her about the benefits of having a data plan.
So I had to use simplified analogies.
For example, the internet browser on the Xperia S is called 'Browser'.
Here's a pretty funny conversation about it:
Me: Mom, this app is for you to surf the net. It's like Safari on your iPad.
Mom: *silence*
Me: You know what's Safari right? You used it before.
Mom: But I thought my phone got internet already??
Me: Yaaaaaa, your phone is running on data plan, which means you have 3G, which means you can surf the internet.
Mom: 我不明白。
Me: You use Browser if you wanna W, W, W!
Mom: Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh~
Then just now on the way home from dinner, in my dad's car...
Opening night was awesome, though the digital animation area was like an oven, I thoroughly enjoyed myself from the overwhelming response, including some familiar faces.
My two besties popped by to support despite my short notice just the night before. My bf surprised me with gongcha. My sis and cousin came down. I feel so loved already. Hehe.
The digital animation area.
My FYP partner and I left a stack of post-it notes at our booth for people to comment and basically leave messages regarding our project. And while I was on duty yesterday at Old School, I popped by my booth and saw all these post-it notes with lots of random comments, it's quite entertaining to read them. (Lots of 9gag memes. Lol)
Me Gusta!
Another Me Gusta!
My favourite by far, cos' it totally captures the experience of being there. Haha.
Hello world.
It's 12.20am on a Tuesday night, ah, Wednesday morning, or should it still be night?
Ahh heck.
Tuesday night it is.
Alone in the cold, dreary depths of the animation dungeon. (wait, it was freezing awhile ago, nvm)
It's warm now.
Still in the dreary depths of the animation dungeon.
After animating this scene I guess that's it then.
Everything after this will not be graded.
My FYP partner's more concerned about the FYP report than I do.
Maybe I should get my priorities straightened out?
No, but my gut feeling tells me to churn out as many scenes as possible.
In other words, animate to the death.
True the FYP report probably counts too, but I doubt that's the main focus here.
My point?
That I'm still here in ma dungeon.
That my hands are tacky from plasticine. (yes I'm typing on ma keyboard with tacky fingers. heck.)
That I wish I had visitors time to time.
FYP partner's long gone home.
I admit I'm a little pissed about her priorities.
But I want the panel to have a film to watch.
I'm having a nervous breakdown.
And I can't stop listening to this song! It's called 'Dig'.
Alright, I'm gonna continue digging this song while digging plasticine. (pun intended)
