Time Flies! What a Hoot!

Nellie the Owl Tea Cozy - SOLD
Honey the Owl Tea Cozy - SOLD

 Sam the Owl Tea Cozy
Lilly the Mouse Coffee Cozy

Well time has flown and after taking time out, sewing things for me (dresses and skirts!), I am still trying to restock my Etsy shop before I even start to think about my folksy shop.
At the weekend I made 3 tea cozies and one coffee cozy and have already sold 2 of my owls and and older retro owl in 3 days. You just know when you are onto a good think, problem is I just need to keep up with demand, so it now looks like any other projects can sit unfinished and look to make one tea cozy a night for the next 2 weeks! in hope that I keep getting the sales - oh why didn't I win the lottery.

Anyway hope you are all well and next week I go into hospital for a small op and have the week off, so will be catching up on blogland, with a lot of tea -  can't wait!!

Next week time to rearange the blog and pages and get updated, but in the meantime i'll pop a few more pics of what i have been making over the last couple of months, and get going on a few more tutorials.

Love and Hugs

Inside Crochet Magazine - Featured!

My Owl Buttons!!

One of my new years resolutions for 2010 was to get something I make and sell into one of the craft magazines, and I always leave everything to the last minute and so my wish was granted in the last hour (of few!), OK so only my buttons, but buttons all the same! This is inside Crochet magazine, the sister mag to sew hip, and last night attempted for the second time to crochet with appalling results! but now all I need to do is find how many of the other resolutions I made, and how many need to follow me into 2011.

Now she doesn't have these for sale on her web page, but I think if we bombarded her with orders she may just have to give in.......
Olive has had a face lift....

MEET OLIVE THE OWL........

Don't be shy olive........

There you are! Hello Olive

It's what's inside that counts......

Made with love...

Add a spot of retro 70's toweling fabric, felt, pink bias binding and cute tiny french floral fabric.
And Olive the Owl Tea Cosy is born..... I had a small dilemma as my tea cosies are normally called Ollie the Owl but after seeing her sit there, I didn't think it right to call her a him!

THINGS ARE ON THE UP!!

I'm so happy.
I have had a great week this week, and I just hope it carries on getting better! It may not seem much, but if I was to carry on selling the same amount each week, my sewing skills may just bring in a pre-Christmas little bonus to spend on presents or filling up the house with food and drink!
I have sold one of my Olive the coffee cosies through
Hunkydoryhome, 1 apron through blondedesign on folksy, some supplies of plain totes through my blondesbackyard on folksy, plus 2 of the 10" red and black skull cushions for a Christmas present through babyblondedesign on folksy, I almost sent them out only to see a comment that the little girl had a pink and black room! So I quickly emailed her to say I will make her 2 pink and black versions, and she is over the moon.
I was contacted by the New York Daily News last week, they are going to put the orange large cushion in an article! And she is going to send me a copy after.
So I am now almost out of skull cushions, and after having a light bulb moment, realise that if something sells well ~ keep making them!
Before I go, and catch up on everybody's blogs, thought I would show you my latest little make, teacup pincushion for sale on blondedesign on folksy & Etsy.
Last but not least....
At the end of the month I am going to do a giveaway of this lemon spot floral half apron...so watch out next week for a giveaway post where all you will have to do is write under the article and I will pull a name out of the hat. Kx

Gorgeous handmade designer tea cosies for tea pots - - Hunkydory Home

Thought I would show you, my black Ollie the Owl tea cosy and pink Olive the Owl coffee cosy have make it on Hunkydory Home website. I feel proud of them sitting there on the page!
They can't have the one off retro Ollies as I would not be able to repeat the orders. So I am looking for another 2 fabrics which I can buy as I need, which are of a retro feel, but need to be as a curtain weight fabric as the lovely dress fabrics around are to flimsy and would not stand up to the job (stand up!- Ha! - Sorry). So if anybody has any ideas C&H fabrics, Laura Ashley....

OLLIE'S BACK!!!!

OLLIE THE OWL CHILDRENS CUSHION

Well after what it seems a long time away from blogging, making and just doing things for me! I'm back. Looking forward to making a few more things, and one thing I did notice the moment I stopped uploading new things people stopped looking and buying, so people clicking on those new items must bring sales in!

I am going to make another 2 versions of this in the Mutli (pinks) and the Sage Alexander Henry 'Zoo' fabric, and use as this one Laura Ashley check to match.

Ollie & Olive

I have finally finished my first family of owls, of which there will be more. Ollie the Owl is a tea cosy, Olive the Owl is a coffee cosy and the kids of which there will I hope be many more are egg cosies.

Now Easter looks like it could be around the corner, it may be time to buy a little eggstra(!) special egg cosy for that little somebody in your life! Just go to my website, where they will come eggtraviantly(!) wrapped. I'm sorry I just had too...........!

There will be more Ollie's & Olive's, as I will be sending one of each of them up to Molly & Lizze's shop in Cheshire, along with a selection of the children.

I am also looking to put them in a shop in Eastbourne called Roots & Boots (short for Local Roots and Wellie Boots!)
