New Sunset Paintings

It's been a while since my last blog post. Nowadays it seems like I post a lot of new work on facebook since it is so easy to post there. Feel free to look me up there.

Below are some new Imaginary sunset paintings. I've been having fun working on developing painting from my imagination. It's great practice and I'm learning some new things about myself.

Water fall Paintings Plein Air

This week I did a couple Plein Air paintings at the cascade falls nearby where I live in Salida, CO.
I painted with artists Carl Ortman and Barry Thomas when I did the painting in the first two pictures. It's always fun painting these falls. There is endless compositions here.

Solo Exhibit Reception Success!

Last Friday was the reception for my solo exhibit "Colorado Impressions: Landscapes, People, and Still Lifes" and it was a Huge success! Many people came through the gallery to see the collection of work and a large majority of the paintings SOLD! The city of Greeley even bought some work to have in its permanent collection. It's possible that by the end of the exhibit it could be a near sell out show.

After the reception was over Karen and I enjoyed a dance performance in the theater by the group Pilobolus.
I forgot to take photos during the reception but managed to snap some during the theater intermission. Below are those photos:

Solo Show Delivery of work

Delivered my work for my Tointon Gallery Show in Greeley, CO on Tuesday the 3rd. Managed to fit 30 paintings in the back of my Subaru.

Show poster in front of the gallery. Arranged all the work to be hanged. The lighting in the gallery is really great! Spacious 1,800 square feet of wall space I had to fill.

Show Poster out front. The Gallery is located in the Union Colony Civic Center. Where they have live performances. The gallery is connected to the theater and on the reception night of the 27th there will also be a show of the Pilobolus Dance Company after the reception. The Reception is 5-7 pm January 27. Should be a great night out to see some art and watch a live performance! Here's a link for the Dance show
